I have seen Urge at a few farmers markets (Royal Oak and Birmingham) and didn't bother to stop until this one time. Since then, I have been hooked. My favorite is the Liquid Green, and from what I can tell from the customers in line in front of me, it is definitely a best seller. To me, it is a pretty mild green juice. It tastes mostly like celery, but it is surprisingly good. They are really nice about letting you sample the juices before your purchase. I have also tried Bapple (beet, apple, and lemon) which is mostly a beet juice; if you don't like beets like me and are trying to incorporate it into your diet, you may want to give it a try. Does it still taste like beets? Definitely, but it's a bit more palatable than other beet juices that I have tried. Orange You Glad is also pretty good if you like carrot juice. They told me that it took 4 lbs of organic carrots to make it. As much as I love this place, it is hard to stomach the $10/bottle costs. But, it takes a lot of produce (3-5 lbs) per bottle. It is also cold-pressed, all organic, and in glass jars. Everything I could want. Check them out at a farmers market or if you are by Berkley. If you were going to spend $10 at Burger King next door, there is no reason you shouldn't just get a juice! read more

The quality is good, definitely fresh, great concoctions, nice packaging, but it's even higher priced than some of their competitors and there's nothing to set them apart really. This review is based mostly around the food items, and not the juice/ juice cleanse program. The service is fine, nothing out of the ordinary or poor to say. The space itself is small, but always clean and well kept. 1) Sunbutter Cacao smoothie: I am a big big fan of Cacao tree smoothies in Royal Oak, but I must say this specific smoothie can match up against theirs! The sunbutter wasn't overpowering, which it can easily be, and the overall flavor profile and consistency was nice. I would order again (I'd ask for an extra date to be tossed in if they can) 2) Cacao Strawberry: This to me was a let down. The cacao hazelnut spread it far too thick and rich. The toast has so much potential. Simply adding honey as a drizzle over will cut through the spread. The blueberry could be replaced with a more tart or even sweeter item just to give more acidity to the dish. Heck even doing a 50/50 Peanut Butter and hazelnut spread would be good. It's just too monotone of a flavor. Size and price is great though. 3) Thai & Monterray Bowls: These dishes are fine. Healthy, fresh, and green. I will say the sauces they have on the side are some of the best which helps with the dish. read more

I first heard about Urge juice from my brother and my cousin who stopped and purchased some juices. We all decided to do a juice cleanse and chose Urge's juice cleanse. I did a 3 day cleanse which offers 6 juices per day. The juices use all organic produce which is definitely a plus and they are all cold pressed raw juice which is huge when cleansing. If you are interested in cleansing, I would do the research as to how beneficial it is to have a cold pressed juice instead of a juice in a blender. It makes a world of a difference. Everything screams CLEAN about Urge. When you walk in you can see into the backroom where they make all their juices and every single thing was spotless! I am a big freak when it comes to cleanliness. I met one of the owners who was extremely helpful and friendly. I spoke to Paul who is the owner as well over the phone and he was really helpful too. Every juice I tasted was sooo tasty. I really don't think you could go wrong with any of the juices that you would get from there. I really was looking forward to each one every time I drank it. I can't tell you how much better I felt after doing the cleanse from Urge!! I seriously recommend everyone do a cleanse and do it from Urge! First of all, I've read several of the other reviews from people who are either looking for a smoothie spot to get their blended protein shakes, or those who are accustomed to purchasing pasteurized juices at Whole Foods or other similar places. If that is what you are looking for then PLEASE go somewhere that will accommodate your wishes. Urge Juice is cold pressed raw juice, so it's NOT something that has a shelf life compatible with commercial markets. The juices are pressed several times each week with specials pressed for the weekends. All of the juices in the case are freshly bottled with expiration dates. There are no organic sweeteners added. I had put off trying cold pressed juice, especially green juices, because I didn't think it would be something that would appeal to me. I was wrong. I came in and purchased a one day cleanse for my health, and I was so pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality that I now return on a regular basis. Not all juices appeal to all people, so read the ingredients to get the blend that you want. I am particularly addicted to Key West (pineapple/coconut water), True Blood (blood orange/grapefruit) and Sweet Green (cucumber/kale/pear/apple) but like almost all of rest of them. Yes, the juices are pricey and if you are someone who has the time and money to cold press your own juice at home on a regular basis then you might save some money. But most of us don't have that option. If you research other raw juice bars you will find the prices to be very similar, if not higher in some cases. Delicious!! I popped in out of curiosity and was so pleasantly surprised. The owner's mother, Terri, was so helpful when I told her it was my first time there. She immediately pulled out all of the bottles to sample and explained the blends. So yummy! I bought 2. The Sweet Green (kale, pear, cucumber, Apple) and Bapple (beet, apple, lemon). I like to do the occasional juice cleanse and have been frequenting one of Urge's competitors for years now. A friend recommended Urge, so I gave it a shot and found the juices really quite tasty, if not a bit sweeter than their nearby competitor. Maybe they use more fruit than veggies in their juices? Not sure, but they are tasty and a few days of juice cleansing with their juices gives me the kind of results I want, so I'll definitely keep coming back. read more

If you're looking for organic, cold pressed juice, this is your place. Very knowledgeable staff. Surprisingly, they had a green juice option that didn't have fruit - a rarity - but so helpful for a Candida cleanse. Prices are great ($10 for a glass 16oz jar) for organic juice - so much produce going into it!! Thanks for not making me whip out my juicer and make a big mess, Urge. This is easily one of the best places around metro Detroit. The food is super healthy, fresh, and most importantly delicious! Every single thing I have tried from here has been amazing. Their juices are also fantastic and are great for doing a cleanse but so tasty and filling that can be used as a meal substitute any time. This place has top notch everything: food, facilities, staff, products, etc. Also had a chance to speak with the owner one of the times was there and he is one of the nicest business owners ever! I will start off with saying that the food and juices are delicious, but the service was horrible. I didnt get her name but it was an older woman with glasses and dark hair who was unbelievably rude. My cousin and I ignored the first time she was rude (we assumed positive intent and assumed she was just having a bad day) and we ignored the long wait time (I get it, it's made from scratch). It wasnt until I expressed concern with a nasty/bitter taste in my bangkok bowl to the woman, realizing how rude she was. She accused me of not knowing what veggies taste like and said "all veggies have a bitter taste to them, which is why I wont be refunding you. You just dont like it". I assured her I knew what veggies tasted like and that a whole bowl itself should not taste bitter. I would have worked with a giftcard or a refund (she did neither) and could only comp me a juice-- which was ok because like I said their juices are good. I'm glad I did not get a gift card because I will never be going back there again due to the horrible service. read more

I've stopped in to Urge a few times now and every time I end up disappointed. Their juices lack character and flavor profile. The apple lemon ginger one might as well just be all apple. Their greens all seem watered down. I realize they are new at this but it's been over a year and they still can't seem to figure it out. I really wanted to love this place, but I have been a bit disappointed. It is on my way to work so I will stock up on Monday (usually 7:50 am) with 6 juices to get me thru Wednesday. I have done this several times and lately when I pull up I can see that the fridge is barely, barely stocked so I don't even bother going in because I can't wait even if it will be filled soon. So this happened a couple of times, but I liked the juices so I tried again and this last time the juices were so so bitter, checked the date and they were still supposed to be good for another two days. I couldn't even finish them - $60+ wasted. So disappointing. Yesterday I went back to Beyond Juice in Birmingham, parking can be a pain when I want to grab and go fast, but I forgot how good their juices are (even though they aren't cold pressed). Currently, I am on my first day of a juice cleanse. Before this I have never "juiced", I expected it to be hard to not eat for two days. I am pleasantly surprised at the amount of energy I have. I started the day with a ginger shot and am on my third juice of the day. The selection of juices they have in the daily cleanse made it easy to commit to doing it. The store owner was very helpful, allowing me to try all the different flavors they have in store. I happened to go on a day that they were making juice and it was easy to see how passionate the owner was about his product.
