Very helpful staff from the initial phone call for info to the time we walked in the door. Super attentive and concerned energy for my sick pet. Unfortunately we did receive very sad news but again the support and assistance for next steps made a very big decision a tad bit easier. We left with some ounces of hope for our possibly dying dog. Took away the word urgent in the name "urgent care" The place is nice looking inside and everything but that doesn't cover the fact that the employees make horrible assumptions. I went with my dog because of a bee sting. I checked in and waited 45 mins in the waiting area and another 45 minutes in the check up room. I talked to a nurse and they said that they assumed that there was a language barrier between us and the employees which I got offended because we talked to someone else in English? Besides this it was also very hot in there. I would honestly go somewhere else instead of this place. read more

Update (11/23/2023): I think Nala likes this place a little too much ;) My husband and I ended up having to bring Nala in again Monday evening as we suspected she had a foreign body. I'm glad we did, as our suspicions were correct...unfortunately. Dr. Parker was absolutely phenomenal! I couldn't have asked for better service in every aspect (examples: explaining what's going on with Nala, what she suggested for treatment, comforting us owners that she'll be ok and is in great hands, constantly checking in on us, and letting me see Nala's x-rays of the foreign body because I love medical stuff). I couldn't have asked for a better experience during such a stressful and concerning time for us owners. She 100% put our minds at ease the moment she introduced herself. Thank you Dr. Parker & Staff. Also, In case you read this, Nala is doing absolutely wonderful after her emergency surgery with Dr. Samantha Hauke at VCA ER off Calder. Looks like the culprit was a half eaten tennis ball. Final thought, out of our 2 visits here, we've gotten 10/10 service and care. I had concerns about taking my pet to your facility, and unfortunately, those concerns were validated. When my cat was suffering from vomiting, I brought her in for care. Despite a few hours passing, the diagnosis was limited to blood work and a conclusion of dehydration. The treatment consisted of steroids, probiotics, and a dietary adjustment recommendation. This approach, however, came at a significant cost of $1100, and we were sent home. The vomiting persisted, and we discovered a palpable mass in her stomach. A visit to her primary vet led to surgery, which revealed a blockage caused by a mass that was too large to save her from. The outcome was devastating, and she passed away. The expenditure of $1100 was not only financially burdensome but also emotionally wasteful, given the circumstances. It's disheartening to think that a more thorough examination might have detected the issue earlier. When I reached out to your office, the response was strikingly dismissive, lacking even a condolence for my loss. Given the circumstances, I feel it's essential to share our story widely. Your company's handling of this situation may have had irreversible consequences. read more

We had a wonderful experience with the staff at UrgentVet. We booked an appointment day of for our 7 year old cat who had pink bile over the night and morning. We were able to get into an exam room quickly (which was clean and well lit) as the first Dr took some vitals and asked dozens of questions to understand the situation. She spoke to and pet our cat sweetly and was patient when he did not want to cooperate lol a second Dr performed more physical exams and asked more questions then provided us a list of options including bloodwork, X-ray and medications all available in house. We opted for the first two and had results in less than 20 minutes clearing our cat of any major internal issues. We left feeling relieved and our concerns heard. Both Drs were personable and kind. It's only been 48 hours since then but our cat hasn't thrown up at all since we implemented the Veterinarians directions. Thank you so much! read more

I brought my baby in around 6pm on a Saturday night after picking him up from a local groomer (Ruff2Glam). He was winking and seemed to receive a eye injury at the groomer. Turns out that my baby had a ulcer from some chemical they used on him and in the groomers attempt to clear his winking eye, she ripped off the top of the ulcer leaving it sore and raw. The staff at URGENTVET was extremely loving, helpful, honest and treated him with tenderness and care. They gave me all the information I would need to help my pup heal, and also let me know what might need to happen, where to go and what to expect if he needed further treatments. I wish I could rate this establishment a 0. When looking for vets open near me, I stumbled upon UrgentVet - Clear Lake. It's very misleading because it says "affordable relief". There is nothing affordable about this place. Pet owners beware. My 11 yr. old shih tzu had been experiencing diarrhea for 5 days. I had been giving him some anti diarrhea medication I purchased from Walmart and 1 tsp of Pepto and giving him water and Pedialyte to keep him hydrated. I also tried giving him some rice and boiled chicken with a little pumpkin, but he would eat very little throughout the week. On Friday afternoon, he was feeling very lethargic and would not stand up, so I was afraid it was something serious. His vet was closed, so I decided to bring him to UrgentVet in Clear Lake. I made his appointment online, but once we got there, the doors were locked. After ringing the doorbell, no one came to the door. We stayed outside waiting for over 5 minutes until the manager let us in. I should have gone with my first mind and just left. They placed us in a room, and my dog was examined and weighed by the tech. I informed her about my concerns and what symptoms he was experiencing. She went to discuss everything with the vet on staff and came back to give me a quote/estimate of a whopping $800 just to run tests for Giardia and pancreatitis. Against my better judgment, I agreed, and they took him back for testing. Once they ran the test, they brought Beamer back to me. He had an accident on the floor because they took his diaper off. There were no paper towels in the exam room to clean up the mess. You would think that such an overpriced place could afford to keep papertowels and diapers in each exam room. After waiting for about 25 minutes for the results, the vet came in to say that the test results were negative for Giardia and pancreatitis and that it is obvious he has an infection but it wasn't those. He was given fluids and electrolytes and sent home with 3 medications that cost $198 that he will fight me to take, hence the reason why I had to take him to the vet in the first place. My grand total for the entire visit was $1,112.58. And to top it off, the only credit card I had expired 3/2023 and I left the new one at home. It was 11pm, and they were closing, so off course the technician was ready to leave. She didn't ask me if I needed to go get the card at home, didn't offer me a payment plan or anything. So, I ended up having to use my bank debit card. I work in customer service, so the decent thing to do was ask me what could I pay towards the visit and get billed for the remaining amount, but she didn't. Also, they don't give you an itemized receipt of all charges before you pay. It gets emailed to you hours later after you have paid for the visit. This place is highly overpriced for testing and labwork. I already had the same medications that they prescribed me...for $38. I could have purchased a new toy dog for the price of this urgent care vet visit. I wish I had just waited until the morning to bring him to his vet. In all 11 years, I have never been so shocked by the pricing of a vet establishment. Please stay away from this place! It's highway robbery. $1,112.58 for a dog with diarrhea and dehydration. They fool you with the $99 Exam on the website. Everything else they do is overpriced. Beware of this urgent care vet. read more

Not sure how accurate these negative reviews are. I walked in without an appointment around 8:30 and was escorted to a room. My cat is my baby and I was a complete mess because I thought he had a UTI. Everyone interacted with was kind, caring, and listened to my concerns. The vet tech (America) was super helpful with everything she did. The vet (Dr.Bosch) was very knowledgeable, kind, and discussed with me in length the concerns I was having. I was told an estimate before they did anything, and we decided to start with one test and work our way up depending on the results. Luckily, they found the issue quickly and I spent less than the estimate I initially received. Was the visit super quick? No. But that really doesn't matter. It was late at night and the primary vet my cat sees was closed. All that mattered was Bosch and the rest of the team did a fantastic job and my baby is now doing better. Was it expensive? I'm not sure. Honestly, the primary vet we see is pretty expensive and I think I would've spent just as much there. Possibly more. The price is whatever. I would've spent all the money I had to get my baby feeling better. Though luckily I didn't have to. read more

If no stars were an option I would select it. Dog had a fracture that was misdiagnosed as a "tissue tear". They performed X-rays on my dog with no sedation and could hear my dog crying from the pain. They stated it was a tissue tear but was truly a fracture. My only option now is to amputate her leg since elbow fractures have to get operated on within 1-2 days after the incident. My son and daughter in law adopted a puppy from an animal shelter. They had, just the week before, had to put their 12 year old pitbull down that they raised from a baby. They loved her but their regular vet recommended it due to an inoperable tumor and the size and condition of the tumor. They were sad beyond belief. When they adopted this little dog a week later, they were in love with this little baby. She went to the vet on Friday and was told she had an intestinal parasite, was given medicine and sent home with more. On Saturday, my son took her to work out with him. While there, she threw up and had diarrhea and by the time he got her home, she had thrown up 4 more times. Their regular vet was closed so they took her to the UrgentVet on Bay Area Blvd. It was the WORST experience ever!!! They tested the puppy and said she had parvo....she had only had 2 doses of parvo vaccine before she was adopted. My son said that he asked about having her put down. She was not doing well but the vet told him that they will not do unsubstantiated euthanasia. My son didn't feel like it was unsubstantiated due to her condition. The vet instead wanted them to take the puppy to her friend that has a parvo clinic and for $1,000 a day treatment, she may or may not have lived. My son said he couldn't afford that due to the previous week with their pitbull. He took the puppy and called the animal shelter to see if they would treat the baby and by the time he got her to them, she couldn't stand up and wouldn't open her eyes and the shelter had to put her down. The vet at UrgentVet made them feel like they were horrible people trying to get help for their puppy and the lady at the shelter said that the puppy had had diarrhea the day before they adopted her so I'm sure she had parvo at that point and shouldn't have been adopted. My son said he felt like the vet was just trying to get her parvo clinic friend some business the way they were pushing it. It was a horrible experience and we will NEVER take another animal back to UrgentVet! I hope other people consider what I am saying. read more
