I had tried an aerial yoga intro in Arizona and wanted to try it again with my daughter while I was visiting her because I had so much fun and thought she'd enjoy it as well. So what is aerial yoga? It's a form of aerial acrobatics where you hang from fabric attached to the ceiling and learn to pose, climb, flip, spin, and drop while developing flexibility and improving your core and upper body strength. I sent a message and had mentioned to the instructor that I've only tried it once and this would be my daughters first time. She said they had an intro class on Monday. We signed up and paid online. When we arrived, the instructor was unwelcoming. There were three of us in the class. Sadly, it was more of an advanced session. It was not tailored to our lack of experience or knowledge. Thankfully we didn't get hurt but overall it was not a good experience and we weren't interested in returning. read more

I love love loveeeee this place but the events leading up to this have been a bit off. This would have been my 3rd class with Bonette/Lynette Aerial Silk class (apologies for the poor grammar). I signed up the Thursday/Friday before the Sunday Silk class. I was under the impression that once I already booked the Aerial Silk class through the MINDBODY app that I would already have a silk reserved, as it says to in the description of the class. When my friend/colleague arrived, who never went to yoga alone before, had already noticed that the lot of silks were in-use. The worst part was she had signed in at 6:31 and told the instructor when I was already signed up for the class and was on my way. I show up at 6:38 and there was no one at the desk for me to even talk to! I called this morning at 8:00am, 5:24pm, and again at 7:53pm. No Answer. My friend left half class because she was so uncomfortable over hearing a walk-in get her son a silk. I bought this monthly pass to go to all the classes but why sign up and feel like they have your back when in reality this time it was first come, first serve. We both lost money too because no one emailed anyone about the class being booked. sad I couldn't participate, I'll still try to come more because I have gotten a lot of my college friends to give this awesome place more business from UWF. read more

I enjoyed a wonderful Sunday morning class at the downtown location. Caroline was exceptional, her instruction through challenging poses and the way she integrated timing of breath was perfect. Not many teachers can instruct on breathing very well, or at least their timing never feels quite right, but Caroline was incredible at getting us to breath as we moved through the poses, which is kind of the point of yoga! Good place for me. I'm a rank beginner, but they were very nice and understanding and supportive, which I needed. Yoga gets challenging fast, but they work with you every step of the way. They constantly say that yoga is not a competition; just listen to your body and do what works for you. Keep at it. Everyone is still learning and practicing. The building is big and clean and seems to have everything: loaner mats, pillows, blocks. They have hot yoga and "cool" yoga, that is, air conditioned. It's very laid-back and informal. It's just a good place to be involved in. Have met some interesting people there. I highly recommend URU Yoga to anyone interested in learning a helpful form of exercise and meditation. read more

I had a great time learning here. I love the monthly passes makes life so easy. They also make for great gifts. Multiple locations allow you to make it somewhere, it also allowed for us to experiment with classes we would have never taken. Like the hot yoga I would die at 105° ..... they have a version in GB thats only 90° to make sure you'll survive. It was awesome to be able to do a class I would have never done just based on temperature. read more

This is an amazing group of teachers, all bringing their own unique touch, making each class different, which I love. The variety of times and locations is very convenient for my hectic schedule. I just always make sure to have my yoga clothes and mat in case I can squeeze a class in. And the Mind and Body app makes it a snap to see the schedules and book a spot! read more

When I'm local or traveling, I try to attend new yoga classes to mix up my practice, and to enjoy different styles and interpretations of this ancient tool for healthy being. So after experiencing multiple studios and an ashram (Yogi Hari's Ashram in South Florida), I'm pleased to say URU yoga studios are great spaces -location, layout, looks- and the instruction and vibes from the teachers and attendees has always been beautiful; a great yogic community. $10 for a drop-in class!??! huh, say what? Wonderful yoga studio with friendly staff. I attended a few classes while in town with my boyfriend's family for the holidays. Amber gave a great beginners yoga class. Tammy was by far my favorite instructor. She gave tons of adjustments and even a head massage! Marc was definitely not afraid to pep things up during a yoga session with a little bit of Beasty boys. They offered complimentary tea and water in their lobby. The parking lot is private but very small. I will definitely be going back when I am in town again. read more

I have been to many yoga studios in the Southeast and beyond. I love the URU3 in Gulf Breeze because it is convenient and the instructors are helpful and welcoming! There are 2 studios also to accommodate classes and yoga simultaneously. You won't be disappointed! read more

Amazing place! I'm new in town and stumbled across URU. I have been practicing yoga for eight years and just finished a drop in Hot Vinyasa flow. What a great experience!
