The department started many years ago, has persevered through a few changes, and is now a premiere example of what can be accomplished when people care about their community. The department has over 50 members currently and is responsible for Fire and Ambulance Service to at least half of the area surrounding Eagle Mountain Lake. The department also provides ambulance service to a large portion of Northwest Tarrant County. Members consist of professional firefighters, EMTs/Paramedics, and other volunteers who graciously give their time and energy to support the community. They provide an integral component to the health care system with mobile intensive care unit and rescue capabilities. I am SO PROUD of him and his choice to defend our country. He will turn 19 while in basic training. I believe this shows true character and honor to decide to dedicate his life to protecting his country and the people in it, at such a young age. He went against MANY nay-sayers and did it anyway. My heart is bursting with pride. It's also breaking because I miss him so much!!!! If you are considering joining the Army, please go to this recruiting station and ask for Sgt. Harris, Nicholeus D. Harris. He was amazing with Brandon, he was very helpful and they guys in this office are a hoot!!! They had me laughing like crazy!!! FYI, it's pretty cool. You schedule some hazardous waste bags to be delivered to your home, and Keller picks them up a week later. No more driving. I like it. Bottom line: Keller for the win!

All you do is drive inside the building, stay in your car and show them your ID, then they take all your chemicals from your trunk and you're on the way home. They take household chemicals and cooking oil. So please bring your motor oil to dispose of properly here. Leftover paint, aerosol products, pool chemicals and many more. My favorite part of this place is that they have a section of the building where you can get free paint and other chemicals products. These are products that people have dropped off to be dispose of but the employees there noticed that some of the products dropped off have never been used, opened or slightly used. Like one time i got a 10 gallon bucket of paint, brand new because i guess the people didnt like the color?! but hey their loss my gain :D Also I gotten many spray of different colors to finish projects i work on.

I have lived in Burleson for almost 3 years, and I still had not been to the library yet. This was…read moremy first time and I enjoyed stopping by so much. It gave me nostalgia from when I was a kid. It was a pastime that my mom and sister used to do on the weekends for fun, we would go to the library and check out 2 to 3 books and read them and then go back 2 weeks later and do it all over again. I'm so grateful that my daughter has inherited the reading gene and appreciates a good book. The library has a fairly nice selection, considering it is not a super big library, but they are definitely in the 21st century because whatever books they don't have available on the shelf, you can get online or read it in eBook form. I thought that was really cool.We will definitely come back again to check out more books. It was a little challenging to get a library card because you have to do a lot, in my opinion to prove that you live in Burleson, especially because, there is Tarrant and Johnson counties that go through the city. But it all worked itself out and we are officially library cardholders.

Yet it was something about the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce that makes me feel so welcome that I keep returning back to it more often than the others. Located on the 9th floor of The Fort Worth Club building on Taylor St and in front of the Morningstar Oil & Gas building, the FWCC has a historic undergirding within the DFW area as well as being a highly relevant entity within Fort Worth. Every time I come in here to purchase business reference materials, I am treated as if I'm family from the staff of Betty Harvey, Christina G., and several others. Further, it seems as if the FWCC is always either hosting or sponsoring a local event. This chamber certainly stays busy! Individual yearly business memberships are comparable to that of other chambers in major cities: usually around $400-500. As for parking here, there is a heavy valet service presence in the front of The Fort Worth Club building, yet I think that there is self-parking on the other side. If not, you can always park on the road either within a paid parking lot or metered parking, which is somewhat reasonable (12 minutes for every $0.25).

I was stopped for a traffic violation by a Blue Mound cop earlier today and what a nice guy. This…read morewas the third time I've been stopped in Blue Mound by Blue Mound cops over the last couple of years and they've all been so nice and friendly. I did get tickets for the speeding, but was warned for my registration sticker being out and for not wearing my seatbelt. Very different than years past with Blue Mound cops. They are now professional acting and looking. They use to be rude and condescending and just straight assholes. Must have been a leadership change. Whatever it is, it's working. I was impressed.
