The employees are rude as hell. My kid was running around the store and this jerk of an employee told him to stop running and he did. Later on he thought my kid was doing it again. He yelled and was a complete jerk and said quote on quote "You were just running, what the hell are you doing? I'm not playing this damn game. Stop!" When I was a teenager and my parents owned a restaurant, we would make a trip to Cash and Carry and similar locations to get the restaurant supplies in bulk that we needed for the next couple of days. We had to do this since the restaurant had only ten tables and the minimum drop for a distributor was several thousand dollars back then in the 80s. In the Boise metro area, we don't have Smart and Final restaurant supply stores even though the previous iteration of US Foods Chef Stores looked eerily similar. US Foods is a nationwide distributor and I have had the chance to meet with their SW division in Scottsdale, AZ in a former life. With that being said, I like what they have done with these existing storefronts to legitimize them and bring great offers to small businesses. You don't need to be a small business to shop nor do you need a permit or card to enter. There are some really good deals so take your time and check out the aisles. The staff is super friendly and knowledge Here are a couple of tips: (1). Just because you found X product does not mean that they will carry it if they sell out. Sometimes what you find is all there is. If you like it, consider getting and then going back and getting more. Don't wait until you've used product X to go back and get more. (2). You are a coffee freak like me there are all sorts of flavorings, pumps, coffee beans, coffee k-cups, etc... (3). By the meat and cheese refrigerator sections, there are some tortillas and bread products. One particular tortilla is perfect for making thin crunchy folded tacos. Don Pancho Thin Tortilla Crisps (4) Need gloves? They have you covered and you'll save some bucks instead of buying from the big box retailers. The are several locations through the treasure valley so make sure to visit and see what they have. As you stroll down the aisles, you can daydream about opening your gastro-pub or cafe. read more

I love this store! We have been coming here ever since moving to the Noise area. It a little hard to find but once you do it's well worth it. They have such a great selection of items and while geared for restaurant supply they serve a purpose for any large gathering as well. While the selection is not massive in all categories what they do go deep in like meats, frozen foods and restaurant supply is massive. We also love this place for their coffee and shaved iced flavors from multiple brands. They have the largest selection of syrups I have seen. Plus the prices compared to other places are great. While I like the no frills vibe of the place it might not be for everyone. But if you want to save a few bucks then this place is well worth a look. read more

US Foods CHEF'STORE - Wholesale Stores Near Me - Meridian, Idaho

This restaurant supply store is open to the public which I appreciate as I have an Airbnb that I need to supply. It is quite small though so their selection is limited. For example, they only had one choice of keureg style pods for coffee. No other type of pods such as teas or hot chocolate. They only had 2 flavors of individual size creamers. Not the caramel macchiato I was looking for which is wildly popular. We couldn't keep it loaded up fast enough at a camp I worked! There were other things I looked for and we're not available. I guess the prices were okay, but I haven't yet shopped around. I really don't like using Amazon and prefer shopping local. Oh well, I guess Amazon it is then. (Sad face) read more

Love this place, although you need to compare pricing. Clean store, friendly staff, no lines. Some hard to find items, but also some common ones they don't have. We use this store to balance out our grocery store purchases, and only visit once every couple of months. Glad to have this option open to the public. read more
