Before joining, I foolishly…read morebelieved federal law enforcement was about investigations, intelligence gathering, and protecting the American people. I quickly learned that the real mission was personal growth through voluntary mandatory canine-based leadership development. On my first day, I was informed that standing upright was a privilege reserved for management. As a junior employee, I was encouraged to remain on all fours whenever practical, which, according to leadership, was always. This dramatically improved workplace efficiency because every meeting was shortened by the fact that nobody could comfortably take notes. Director Patel was a visionary. While lesser leaders focus on metrics, budgets, and strategic planning, he focused on much more important questions, such as whether one can be a victim of bestiality if they are on top. I particularly appreciated the FBI's commitment to dignity. Every morning began with a mandatory affirmational briefing during which I was reminded that I was both an dispensable asset and entirely replaceable. This messaging helped create the psychological flexibility needed to be a proper service dog. The performance review process was refreshingly transparent. One might even say it was invisible. My annual evaluation stated: "Exceeds expectations in all canine categories. Continues to keep head down and sniff ass." Rarely have I received feedback that was both so positive and so transformative. Director Patel frequently emphasized accountability. Whenever something went wrong, leadership moved quickly to identify the individual least involved and hold them fully responsible. This eliminated confusion and saved countless hours of actual investigation. I also appreciated how meritocratic the workplace was. Promotions were based entirely on visibility, networking, office politics, fate, weather conditions, and other factors that remain classified to this day. One of my proudest moments came when I was selected for the Bureau's prestigious Advanced Obedience Initiative. The program consisted primarily of being told "good job" and "who's a good boy?" in increasingly sensual ways. By the end, I was capable of interpreting seventeen different meanings of the phrase "interesting career choice." As Director Patel often reminded us, morale was extremely high. This was confirmed by the weekly morale surveys, which everyone completed before being informed of the questions. I will never forget the day I was awarded Employee of the Month. The ceremony lasted several hours and culminated in my receiving an official certificate acknowledging that I had successfully met all expectations while remaining entirely beneath them. To this day, I remain grateful for the experience. I entered the FBI as a man and left as a far more effective golden retriever. The only reason I'm withholding a fifth star is because I was eventually permitted to stand upright again, causing a noticeable decline in both my agility and my sense of purpose. Would work here again, provided they continue giving out treat bonuses.

The FBI Experience tour was great!…read more We had to submit a background check prior to our visit which is understandable. We spent hours here and learned/saw so much! Viewing the 9/11 crash scene items were very interesting, learning about crime scenes, how they're solved, reading about old stories the FBI solved, stories of espionage, white colored crimes, FBI most wanted...the list goes on. There was so much information packed into this tour, we couldn't get to it all during our stay.

They do have a gift shop of sorts, but they do not sell water--just an fyi. They give a guided tour and it was so very neat! They tell you all about the money printing process from start to finish, how to tell the difference between real vs counterfeit. They discuss the reasons that bills change every few years. You get to see them actually working the ginormous printing machines. I highly recommend visiting on your next DC trip!

His office also was able to get me a tour of FBI headquarters while I was in Washington. I was ecstatic to be able to do both. When I was a child, I dreamed of going into politics and one day serving in Congress and even though I walked a different path than what I planned, I still was honored and awed to be able to walk the halls where so many great men and women served our nation. My family and I were given a tour by Madeline and Patricia, two aides from the Congressman. They were very friendly, informative and I respect and appreciated how passionate they were when giving us the tour of this grand building. I am sure they have probably given these tours hundreds of times and I am sure as congressional aides they have so many other responsibilities and tasks to do on any given day...we certainly appreciated they took time to give us and another family a tour of Congress. The staff for Congressman Curbelo also was able to get the FBI to give me a tour of their headquarters. That also was very appreciated as someone who has been involved for 10 years in anti-fraud investigations and analysis for the private sector, I certainly wanted to get a tour of the headquarters of such a legendary law enforcement department. I am very thankful to Congressman Curbelo for all the assistance his staff gave my family in making my vacation to our nation's capital. I'm going to be perfectly honest with everyone and state, right up front, that I don't generally…read morelike nor trust politicians in general, nor Republicans in particular, But Senator Dean Heller is a wonderful exception to "the norm," and I am proud to give this paean to a man who (obviously) hasn't been on The Beltway long enough to learn how to be "a Jerk." And, with the grace of God, he will continue to refuse to become anything like many of his colleagues. Here's why I'm a new member of his fan club: I sent an e-mail to all three of my representatives (including my 2 senators) from the state of Nevada, and Sen. Heller (and his ultra-helpful staff member, Stephen P Sifuentes) did two things that the other two did not: 1. He RESPONDED, and, 2. He SOLVED my problem! As far as I'm concerned, that makes him "#1" in my book and justifies my voting for him the next time he runs for election, as well as sending money to help finance his future campaigns. I just hope that when he becomes President of this terrific country, that he won't lose the character traits and values that truly impressed me, like no one else ever has in the past. It's really a shame that there isn't enough room to add his likeness to Mount Rushmore, because it would certainly be better to have him up there than Thomas Jefferson, who owned slaves.

I'm so sick of government agencies, NSA or not, not treating American Citizens (who pay their high salaries) as customers, instead of bothersome people wasting their bureacratic time. The lady that had hung up on me 3 times before now answered in just 2 rings instead of 45, but when asked to speak with her supervisor, claimed she didn't have one. No accountability equals the poor customer service I received. Instead, not allowing me to speak to consumer affairs, she transferred me to an equally rude person in security who would not identify herself either, who also refused to answer my simple question, or tranfer me to public affairs. My experience at the Russian Consulate was extremely unpleasant and, in my view, unnecessarily…read moreintimidating. The staff's manner was dismissive, authoritarian, and lacking in basic courtesy or professionalism. Rather than clearly explaining the requirements or the reasons for their decisions, the consular staff primarily gave instructions and orders, leaving visitors uncertain about what was expected of them. There was a strong sense that the authority of the position was being used to intimidate applicants rather than assist them. What made the situation especially frustrating was that the staff were aware that many applicants had traveled from other states and had invested significant time and money to appear at the consulate in person. Despite this, there seemed to be very little consideration for the circumstances of the people standing in front of them. At one point, a woman at the second window repeatedly said, " " ("Oh my God") in a tone that came across as condescending and as though the applicant was being treated as unintelligent or unreasonable. Comments and reactions like this create an uncomfortable and humiliating atmosphere. The overall environment felt intimidating. Many Russian visitors appeared visibly uncomfortable and afraid to challenge or question the staff, creating an atmosphere where people seemed to feel they had to excessively please the officials simply to avoid problems. A consulate is an official institution that represents its country, and visitors should be treated with dignity, patience, and professionalism--even when documents are incomplete or additional requirements must be met. Clear explanations and respectful communication should be the standard. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. !
