"Osoyoos Lake - wonderful views that dominate Osoyoos and surrounding area."…read more We (two seniors and daughter) did a 5-night stay at a beach-side hotel in Osoyoos in June, and one side of Osoyoos Lake dominated the unobstructed, direct view we had from our room's balcony. The ever-changing sights (with the colour changes of the Lake and surrounding mountains over the course of each day), and the natural sounds (of the birds - swallows, gulls, ducks, et al) each day, from sunrise to sunset, were often mesmerizing!! We enjoyed daily beach and street-side walks alongside the Lake, soaking in the various sights & sounds. The street side "boardwalk" alongside the Lake, off Main Street -- extending from a gazebo and benches a short distance from our hotel (the Coast), to Veteran's Park, located just on the other side of the street bridge over the Lake, near the entrance to the downtown area -- was especially enjoyed for early-morning strolls, with the lovely lake and garden views. The beach, both 'up & down' from our hotel, was great for the other walks -- offering up fresh air, exercise, great views of the Lake and surrounding mountains, beach activities, and for dropping in and checking out various properties (hotels, condo's, commercial establishments, and etc.), and other sights along the way. The water was a touch too cool for us for swimming at this time, but we did venture into the shallows at our hotel often, to wade a little, cool the feet, watch and enjoy the birds, and on occasion, catch the sights of fish, and other species using the lake as their home. Many very relaxing, and fascinating moments at the time, and fond memories to bring home. It was mostly very quiet and peaceful on Osoyoos Lake at the time of our visit (with very few power boats, or the like out on the lake doing their thing), so it was a perfect time to reflect on the natural overall beauty of it, and the surrounding mountains. We much-enjoyed the views, and truly-soaked them in during our stay!!! Osoyoos, and Osoyoos Lake ... wow!! what a lovely combination!!

We used to have a PO Box, but we now only go in to ship a package which is a great opportunity to see how PO Josh has been doing. He's the cool guy who works in the office. We want to give a huge thank you to Aiyana who's also an office employee here. She went out of her way and drove to our apartment to unlock the neighbor's box to retrieve our package. That was very sweet. Turned out that our package (which we accidentally had shipped to the wrong apt) got put in our own mailbox anyway, so shout out to the mailman for being on top of it! Monica also gets an honorable mention because she's very professional and pleasant. You all deserve raises or at least a gift card. God bless y'all!

When my family moved, we paid for change of address several times because apparently it didn't go through. Mail was still being sent to old address. My son was taken off his SSI because tonasket postal service didn't forward his mail like they were supposed to. Now im am fighting his SSi to get his Income reinstalled before he looses his apartment. Thank Tonasket postal service for your crappy service and messing up people's important mail delivery. Do better.

It was also a town that was used to film the backdrops for a movie called Snow Falling on Cedars http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120834/ . My parents and many relatives had to relocate there during WW2 and it was there that my mother after many years had found new love in an old friend, my step father. To this day, they have lived there for over 30 years and pretty much all of my stepfathers life. It is a small town with a big heart. Quiet, picturesque, nestled in a valley and an inbetweener from Osoyoos to Grandforks. During the summer it is a destination for recreational motorcyclists to drop in on their way up the province. If you happen to drive through, drop on in for a coffee and a walk through the town and experience an old mining towns charm! It's a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. This being the smallest city in Canada.
