Like I had a uni-horn protruding from my forehead. Like I had an appendage growing from the small of my back and had glowing, sparkling, glittery skin. Like she really, really, truly had n.e.v.e.r. seen a Black person before, in her entire life. Ever. She burned a whole in the back of my head for, at the very least, 15-20 minutes strong. While her child had no mask. In fact, while she was looking at me she should have been looking for a mask for her child. At the time Alaska had one of the highest Covid-19 patients in ICU rates in the country. Because of their mistake, I had to come back and redo the exact same paperwork. When I calmly explained what happened, there was zero apology and zero accountability. They just notarized it again and acted like it was no big deal. Notary work requires precision and basic competence. This store showed neither. Their carelessness created real problems for me, and the complete lack of responsibility afterward made it worse. I've had some tell me it is, and others tell me it's an "affiliate" location, meaning they lack many of the services of actual post office locations. If you want to send something that has already been postmarked and you have absolutely no questions on, it will do. If you need to have them print a shipping label, or answer any questions, I would try a different location. This location is staffed by ACE employees, not postal workers, so they are not able to answer many questions regarding the process of sending things out, even just down to "how many stamps will I need on this?". Went in recently to send out a a package- I do not have a printer at home, so I had a code for them to scan to print the shipping label there, something I have had 0 issues with at other post office locations. When I asked if they could scan it, the employee basically said "I don't know how , so no". If you don't know how, why are you the one working the mail counter? I have also tried to return mail that was addressed to former tenants (which we were instructed by the post office to do, just send it back and only accept our mail) and was told I would need to go to a "real" post office to do so. So then what are you? I would say skip it and just go to an "official" post office location, and save yourself the time and hassle.
