It was an extremely tricky job for…read moremany reasons, and we needed some special assistance that required skill and experience on their part. They are NOT an experienced company. There was no formal quote. The "owners" bickered and argued about who was the owner. They misrepresented their service to us several times and never told us what the final price would be until our stuff was ON THE WAY HERE. They parked a truck in front of the house in AK but didn't get any permits; when they were forced to move the truck they did so WITH NO WORD TO US. The truck just...... drove off one day. We thought we were being robbed! But no. It was The Relocators moving the truck to....... where? we still don't know. When I reached out to Deborah about it she said she was leaving town the next day and "Leo" would take care of us. Who is Leo? We didn't know. It took her 2 days to get Leo's contact info to us, and she was snippy and disrespectful in doing so. I was in a crowded noisy place when we were trying to communicate via phone; I asked her to text me instead and her comment was, "The phone works both ways." I didn't hear from her again until 2 days later. Our agreement was that the contents of the truck would be undisturbed, not opened until arrival in OR state. When the truck arrived in OR, it was in a different truck. We had items go missing, including a proprietary shelf to a stereo cabinet. When I asked Deborah about the shelf, she had no plan, no protocol for this situation. She asked me, "What do you want me to do about it?" As of now we have no use of that cabinet due to the missing shelf. A problem for another time. Finally, the billing. Dan misrepresented this process to us more than once, creating even more stress than it was already. He quoted us a service fee to process a cc payment, then said he would waive it. Then he reapplied it without explanation and when I questioned it he accused me of trying to rip them off! Dan was SO OFFENSIVE that I had to deal with Deborah, who wasn't much better. When the rep for the mover shows up in high heels, toenail polish, hollywood hair and lashes..... she's beautiful but she's a MOVER. It didn't inspire confidence, is all. NOT shaming the lady, just saying it looked unpro. This company probably would do well with small moves, or just one big ticket item. But they just don't have the procedures and operations in order to move a large, difficult job like ours. Their price was reasonable, but the way we were treated, and the fact that some of our stuff never made it here, that I cannot recommend this company.

I didn't know if having an appointment would get me seen any faster, and the next available appointment was 3 days from when I booked, but that's ok, as my license doesn't expire until end of March. The emailed instructions said to check in at the information desk, or one of the kiosks. I put in my phone number as instructed in the email, and it printed out a ticket number. I rolled my eyes aggressively at it, thinking "I could have just gotten a ticket number from the regular machine" HOWEVER, the actual second the ticket was printing out, my number was actually being called at the booth. And I also got a text message too. I go to the desk, and Shiela/Sheila was super helpful. I had an eye test, I had to answer a couple of questions, provide some documents as proof of where I live, and my Legal Permanent Resident card, and that's about all she needed, despite the fact that their website told me I'd need to bring Birth Certificate, proof of name changes etc. I in fact had a big fat envelope full of stuff, "just in case" I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. I paid my $40 and got a receipt, I think that's pretty good for Real ID. I was then directed to desk number 1 for a picture. The lady at desk number 1 was also very helpful and sweet, and she had an awesome sleeve. She checked my receipt, took my picture, even told me it was an awesome picture (I appreciate the kindness) and printed my temporary license telling me my full license card would be mailed and I'd have it in 2-3 weeks. All in all a painless experience, compared to previous visits where I've waited a very long time. Even this office seems a lot cleaner, airier, just more pleasant all round. I think back when I passed my drivers test, I took it over at the old location by Spenard. Anyway, so yeah, in and out in 15 minutes, I don't think you could beat that, so I recommend making an appointment for sure.

I used the Yelp App to locate a place to recycle a 65" Flat Screen Samsung TV that had quit. I did…read morenot want to just throw it in the landfill. The App sent out two requests under the projects program for responses. Within 24 hours I received two excellent responses that fit my needs. The first was a local nonprofit recycling center with 6 miles. The other was Total Reclaim. Total Reclaim operates a recycling business that accepts on site delivery of recycling products including TV's and other electronics. I consulted their website for details and location and they were 50 miles away. They also have a pickup service in their local area but only rarely in my area. They do charge fees for their services. I choose the local facility because of closeness and smaller fees. It cost me just $7 to recycle the 100 pound TV. I encourage people to use the services of Total Recall when needed. The Anchorage Landfill operates a limited recycling program at the main landfill in Eagle River. It accepts glass which the MatSu Borough Landfill will not. They also accept hazardous materials but I am unsure about electronics. Check the websites for ALL locations to get details and costs concerning their individual operations. I encourage everyone to use the recycling programs to reduce waste, contamination and pollution.

The "small" washers, which are still pretty darn big are $4, their medium machine, which is very large is $7, thier large machine is $9 (big enough for a quilt and other stuff), their monster super giant is 14.50. That machine is literally big enough to put a human in or like 5 fluffy quilts and a bunch of other stuff. Their dryers take quarters, so you get to decide how much time you want to assign. Different machines have different values depending on their size and heat. Recently they got some new machines and they are super large and super hot so they are 3 min for a quarter, but they dry really fast. Others are like 5 or 7 mins for a quarter. This was my first experience using a notary online so here are some tips: You will need to scan and email a PDF of the document needing to be signed BEFORE your notary session. Before the session starts they will input the signature lines through their software. There is a short registration/verification process needed when you first log in to the software, so being 5 minutes early to your appointment time may be a good idea as the software will verify your identity and ask for verification through a govt issued ID. You will need a computer or mobile phone with internet to do this as the notary essentially is there to watch you sign the document. Once you are online and set up it is a breeze to sign with clicks, much easier than it would be signing in person. Finally I'll mention, Mana Mobile Notatary Services is a local independently owned business. You can really tell Vaosa cares about her product and is just highly professional.
