This location I find myself going to when the one closer to my house is closed. Huffman I think has longer open hours. I came in to grab a couple flat rate shipping boxes from the lobby and thank goodness there were plenty in stock for me to grab and get on my merry way. I am a loyal fan of the USPS .I have always been amazed that I could put a letter in my mailbox and for about half a dollar that letter would be delivered to my friends mailbox 4,000 miles away . Six days a week I receive important and sometimes not so important mail delivered to me personally .(my mailbox) If I have a package to mail my mailman will pick it up from my home . Heck they will even give me a free box to mail it in ! They charge less that the other guys to deliver packages . Price is always important ! So many people believe our taxes pay for this service but the post office is completely self funded by the sale of their services . Yep , they get all their revenue to pay for everything from postage and other services . The USPS is so very important to each one of us is so many ways . Have dropped packages with prepaid postage in the wall drop numerous times and every single time it is days before it starts tracking. Occasionally the items "disappear" and I have no receipt to prove it. I think things just sit there until someone feels like processing it. My business depends on how quickly I mail packages and thus I get bad reviews because of them. read more

I know CrAzY right to rate a Post Office, but they have Counter Characters here! The people are friendly, Steve and his cohorts joke around, you can rub them a little and they joke back. Makes the lines more bearable. Especially now that it's the fricking Holiday Season Ugggh the lines!! We have to get our mail here daily since our house is being built and they haven't sent up our Mail Boxes yet. Steve dresses up as a Zombie this year for Halloween. Fun post office for sure. Steve sometimes wears a name tag "There" just say "Hi There" - get it!? LOL I'm telling you real fun characters! read more

This is the post office that delivers my mail, so occasionally I have to go here to pick up something. Apparently they can't keep track of anything. I stopped by yesterday to pick up some certified mail that had been attempted to be delivered earlier in the day. I gave my slip to one of the two employees I saw. He spent 5-10 minutes looking for my mail (which was just a letter) and told me he couldn't find it. So does that mean the mailman was just holding my mail hostage or threw it away somewhere? I don't even know. I signed and returned the slip to him which authorizes USPS to deliver the letter in my mailbox even if I'm not there. At least I think so, the employee seemed almost as clueless as me. The other guy there is an older man who is either really rude or has an awkward sense of humor (or both). He was with another customer while I was waiting for my letter. I heard him make some comment basically referring to the customer as "small-minded", which is very inappropriate and unprofessional in my opinion. Unless they knew each other already, but that didn't appear to be the case. I've interacted with this man before and he made similar comments to me that were uncomfortable (though not quite as harsh). I'm glad I was spared from interacting with him again. Only giving two stars for the self-help kiosk that has longer available hours than most of the other posts offices in Anchorage. read more

Good quick service! The line although long moved quickly and they had shipping supplies too.

Besides being one of the busiest post offices in the area, it makes up for having a long line. There was about 4 or 5 people in front of me and I was already at the counter within 5 minutes. The clerk at the desk was very friendly and commented on the postcards I was sending. Had a good attitude and friendly service. They do have the Automated Postal Center, outside of the lobby which sells stamps and prepares your package to sell. Very clean and updated place. It is right down from my dads work so I will be going here evertime I need to send off something or get stamps. My prefered post office! read more

Came in on a Saturday since the one by my house is closed on Saturdays. Pulled in and did my business of sending a prepaid package envelope to the states. There were a couple of people manning the stations, but for some reason each customer had long requests and it was a bit of a wait. Got some new forever stamps and sent package. As I was leaving I was pulling out the way I came in and, seriously, two different people tried to stop me saying it was a one way, which I didn't see any signs in the parking lot. And there was a ton of room. As I was turning onto the street I noticed a "one way" sign at the entrance, but no "do not exit" sign on the way out. Yeah, missed it on the way in, but I was more impressed by the busy bodies that decided to educate me on the ins and outs of a parking lot. FYI, street rules do not apply to parking lots. I may go against the traffic flow again. read more

I came down here today to mail my amended tax forms for 2015. I purchased a medium-sized hard envelope for my tax documents along with first class postage to the IRS. This post office is by far a lot better than the midtown location by the Loussac Library and the one across from the Northway Mall. There were a few people in line, but the wait was only a couple of minutes. The clerk that was working there, an older Asian lady, was very friendly and skillfully helped everyone in line in just a matter of minutes while singing along to the radio. The key difference at this location was that this clerk was so quick in going through the routine questions on hazardous materials and cash back, that she breezed through all of this and confirmation of delivery in a little over a minute. That has never happened to me before. The standard wait for this type of transaction at the other locations had to be under five minutes. (From my numerous experiences going to the post office, this is such a rarity to see and merits a review on here). Thank you Maria for being such a great person during the busy times. The Post Office wouldn't be in the red all the time if it had more employees like you. read more
