By far, the absolute worst postal service I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with in the 20+ locations I have lived in throughout my life. I understand this is a small town, but the United States Postal Service is a Federal business, and it should be run accordingly.
In Astoria, mail mysteriously never gets delivered the day before a Federal holiday, and sometimes even the day after. In the fourteen months I've lived here, I have never once received a package by the date it was designated to be delivered. Never. Not even once.
They're probably a little short-staffed, and if this was your average mom-and-pop business, I'd totally get that. But it's not. It's the United States Postal Service. I don't care if it's the "oldest post office west of the Mississippi," or whatever their claim to fame is, I just want my mail.
And if you ever need to call them, good luck getting them to pick up the phone, because they almost never do. You'd have a better chance getting a meth dealer to answer your call out here. Such a pathetic operation. read more
