I've been here twice since I moved to Walnut Hills and I had different experiences both times…read more I occasionally get rid of books online using different websites to find people that want books, so I often make a trip to the post office with a bag full of packages to mail. My first trip was pleasant. There were two very friendly ladies working who chatted with me while she worked on putting postage on each package. I left feeling like I'd see them again and develop a friendly neighborhood relationship with them. Then this morning I went back to again mail packages as well as some letters for work. There was no one at the counter when I entered and the buzzer sent someone up front to help me. The gentleman took one look at my two bags and rolled his eyes. He asked me if they were all individual (what else would they be) and THEN removed the "station closed" sign that was on the counter. He begrudgingly went through my two separate orders and had me stamping my own letters to expedite the process (which I didn't mind). When some other customers came in behind and were waiting he remarked that they must be VERY patient. All I could think was god forbid I mail things at the post office. What was I thinking? I should have sent them with carrier doves. I left feeling like I was treated unreasonably and rudely.

I was told that they would send someone out to pick them up from my mailbox. Nobody has shown up and it's after 9:30pm. One of the envelope looked like someone had opened it up and it had a blank check inside. I would have taken that piece of mail back to the sender but I didn't want them to think that I had anything to do with it being opened. I give them an f for their concern and effort.

Almost every single time I have to come here it's frustrating. There's never more than one person handling customers. The line, whether it's only a couple people long or outside the front door, moves at a snails pace. I've literally waited in line here for over a half hour at times. It's just not acceptable..it gives you the same feeling like you're at the DMV half the time..and that's the worst. I've also noticed recently that the cost of postage to send things through USPS is just skyrocketing. Seriously..I've gotten cheaper quotes from UPS..even FedEx at times. I don't understand why their pricing is getting so ridiculous. I know that the postal service has been struggling a lot the past couple of years..but this is not the right route to get things back on track. The Fred Factor was a book written about a mailman who gave excellent customer service. I met a "Fred" in Alexandria, KY. There is one guy working hard to meet a plethora of needs for each and every customer. Many older individuals like myself need a lot of attention and this gentleman never seems to get frustrated and yet keeps the line moving. This gentleman also has a way with people as to not make them feel stupid. I have written several books on customer service and can readily identify trained professionals. These individuals are quite common at Disney Southwest, and even Chickfilla. I might just expect such service at these locations, however to receive such service early in the morning when I was covered in paint at a post office located in a strip mall was highly unexpected. The gentleman circled the barcode at the bottom of the receipt as I had to look like the last person who might later scan and fill out a customer service survey. I have to admit I was a little surprised that our U. S. Post Office even cares what I think about their service. The questions were also very good. On this day it is safe to say there were positive surprises for both sides. Besides filling out their survey, I also have my Yelp Elite Badge! I can only hope that the post office follows up with this young man running the show in Alexandria KY as he has unlimited potential. I truly hope ge gets acknowledged by leadership.

They do NOT answer their phone when you try to call them with a problem. I often receive large…read morepackages in the large mail box in our kiosk. The locks OFTEN DO NOT open the mail box with the key provided. I've reported this before and nothing seems to have been done to fix the problem.
