To the Postmaster, I am writing to formally report an incident of highly unprofessional conduct that occurred. The United States Postal Service, located at 575 E Tremont Ave, Bronx, NY 10457, is extremely disrespectful and unprofessional, and the workers at that location have a very bad attitude, making it an unpleasant and horrible experience, with the worst customer service. I wish I had never experienced or even encountered this person. This person should have been fired a long time ago, along with the hiring manager or the leading supervisor. I don't understand or know if she is the supervisor. This is not an isolated incident; several other residents and customers have reported similar experiences of verbal abuse from the same staff. This woman!. She isn't a good person, and she isn't the right fit for the company. This behavior is a direct violation of federal standards and is creating a hostile atmosphere for our local community. This place should be investigated for everything because it is the worst post office in the five boroughs. Very bad and extremely slow service, and extremely bad customer service. Please do better. During my interaction at the Window a staff member, a black woman with little weight on her, used explicit and foul language. This language was used toward me within public earshot while I was asking for help. As a customer, I found this behavior notoriously disgraceful and a violation of the USPS Zero Tolerance Policy regarding workplace harassment and inappropriate conduct. Such language creates a hostile environment and fails to reflect favorably upon the Postal Service as required by ELM Section 665.16. The behavior continues to be a problem for the local community, and I am willing to speak on the record about how this hostile environment is impacting our neighborhood's access to essential services. a serious lack of professionalism and the use of offensive language by federal staff at The United States Postal Service, located at 575 E Tremont Ave, Bronx, NY 10457, Post Office. I will be contacting the offices of Representatives Nathalia Fernandez (District 34), Jamaal Bailey (District 36), and Gustavo Rivera (District 33) to request a formal inquiry into the management of this facility. A secondary report will be filed with the USPS Office of Inspector General. I would prefer to resolve this matter internally, but I will not allow this hostility toward the public to go unaddressed. I request that this incident be formally investigated and that corrective action be taken to ensure the standards of courtesy and character expected of federal employees are maintained. if i could add zero stars, i would. had an appointment for 10 am to renew passports and the workers never called us in. we asked why and they said there was only one person and she was doing packages. the person at the front desk was rude and nasty. she kept making insults to us. at 11:45 they still never called us in. we just left because there was absolutely no point in waiting for people who obviously want no business with us. will never go again.. read more

HORRIBLE!!! I ordered a package from amazon that was supposed to be delivered Wednesday. I called Amazon Thursday when it did not arrive. It is now Saturday and I still do not have my package. Amazon started an investigation on the USPS for why it has not been delivered. I received a phone call from a female employee from this post office saying " I have your package in front of me. We're closed but you can come before 5pm (I received the call around 4:30 pm) and I'll give it to you through the back. " This is unprofessional and unorganized. They have my package this whole time but do not want to deliver it for whatever reason they can't provide. I just experienced the worse interaction with a window clerk ! I came in to pick up a package for my mom, I had a picture of her passport, the tracking number of the package and my ID. I waited in line for a little bit because the clerk was on her phone and didn't notice I was online. After she finished whatever she was doing on her phone I approached the window to a clerk I later learned was named "Claude". I told her "hey I'm here to pick up a package for my mom and she said "I need your mothers ID your ID and the tracking number" and I said "OK would you like me to write it down for you or do you want to write it down(and I would tell her the numbers) and she didn't even respond she just gave me a receipt paper and a pen so that I could write it down and I also wrote out my mothers name. I showed her a picture of my mom's passport and I also showed her a picture of my ID because they were right next to each other. She then proceeded to ask me with an attitude and while rolling her eyes "you don't have your ID, how you don't carry your physical ID? "And I replied "I do, I just showed you a picture cause It was faster (it was literally the next picture in my phone) It's the same thing but I have the physical one". I told her she didn't have to speak to me like that and proceeded to take out my ID. This made her angry and slammed the receipt paper on the counter and told me to go to the next clerk because she wasn't helping me. I asked for her name but she refused to give it to me. She walked away and I could hear her yelling from the back that I'm not getting my package and she was also telling the other clerk to not give the package to me. When the next clerk took me she was super nice and I explained the situation. She walked towards the back to get my package and I can hear the original clerk telling her no don't give her her package this is a courtesy we don't have to give her her package. Which I don't understand why she kept saying it was a courtesy when I had all the necessary information that the customer service representative told me I needed when I called on the phone before I went in. the manager ended up coming to the window with my package she ended up speaking to me and she told me that it was a courtesy that next time there's not going to be a courtesy and I told her this is not a courtesy. I have all the information that is necessary I provided all the information and I explained the situation to her as well but she just defended her employees nasty attitude. And this is not the first time I experienced this attitude from the specific clerk. The last time I went to the post office I wanted my receipt to be sent via email and she hit print on her end while I was trying to hit email on mine. I ended up telling her hey I wanted the receipt sent to my email, is there anyway you can fix it because the screen just cleared she turned to her coworker and her coworker said there was nothing she could do about it and I asked her why did that happen did she hit something on her end and she lied and told me no. I've been to the post office so many times and that screen does not move unless they hit some thing. She also was rude to the person she assisted before me it was an older gentleman who was struggling to use the keypad to pay with his card she kept yelling at him and getting annoyed she would say "no you're doing it wrong do it again that's not how you do it." Which wasn't helpful at all it was an older gentleman who was struggling there was a better way for her to speak to him and help him. I just don't understand why people like this get hired in customer service positions. If you don't like your job you have to get another job. If you do not want to come to work at this place of employment pick another place of employment. Which truly upset me is that her manager just defended her and didn't even let me talk when I was trying to explain my side of the story. I later on called corporate and filed a complaint and I learned from corporate that I actually needed a note signed by my mom. Which If the clerk would've told me that I would understand why she was saying courtesy but no one ever mentioned a note she was just upset that I showed her a picture of my ID even though I later showed her my physical ID. I understand that people have mental issues and go through things at home but you have to leave those things at home especially when you work at a customer service industry. read more

They hate their jobs....Worst Post Office - Westchester Square Bronx. The workers do not care about their jobs. I went on a Monday at 10am, waited 20 minutes on a line with 10 people, all clerk windows were closed. The girl who sits in the front (selling stamps) said the workers are in the back. I called their main number and it rang like 20 times with no answer. 25 minutes later a man comes out tell the girl take a window, she goes inside takes another 15 minutes to open a window, because she is argueing with her older female coworker. 40 minutes to get service, is just crazy. Nasty, rude, careless, they act as if the customers are 'bothering' them. I just hope my mail gets delivered. I usually go to the one on Buhre Avenue, what a difference, you hear Good Morning and such decent and fast service, unbelieveable the difference. read more

This is by far the worst post office! They branch manager is rude and disrespectful! We have had issues for over 2 years with our mail delivery and they have done nothing to correct the issue! Nasty and poorly executed customer service. I went to pick up a package that was delivered when I wasn't home. The woman behind the counter told me it was returned to sender (on the next business day?!). I contacted to sender (ebay seller). They also thought it was strange and said they would let me know if it came back. I filed a claim online for the missing package. Next day I get a voice mail from them saying the package is there. I call back. They don't know who called me. I go back to them. The guy behind the counter is messing with his phone. After he realizes I am standing there I give him the slip, explain the situation, and he goes and gets it. Puts it through the window goes back to his phone. Awful place. I stay on Oliver Place, 10458 and this is by far the worst mail service I have ever experienced. I go in monthly to send my husband a care-package but only go to the window with a certain employee because he has manners. Thank you, Ray! You have done an exceptional job! However, the other employees have done so poorly in the few months that I have been here. I am only staying in NY until my husband returns from overseas and I CANNOT WAIT TO LEAVE! I am a stay at home mom, therefore, I am ALWAYS home! There is absolutely no excuse. I have an infant and live on the 4th floor of a building with no elevator. I am constantly getting packages delivered and always get a notice from the mail man/woman. I have only had 2 packages delivered to me and one was by a woman on a Saturday morning and another by a young man on a Friday. The regular mail man that comes is incompetent. Occasionally he rings the bell and expects us to come down. Or leaves a note 2-3 days later dating back to the date the package was suppose to be delivered. ALL MY PACKAGES HAVE TRACKING AND I AM ABLE TO VERIFY DELIVERY ATTEMPTS. For example, if a package was due 2/17/15, he would leave a note 2/19/15 saying that the parcel can be picked up the next business day "2/18/15". I check my mail every single day and he has done this numerous times. I absolutely hate going into the post office because the lines are so long! My baby is 4 months now and I cannot take her out in this weather. There are times that I have had to take her to my moms house to go to the post office and pick up a package other times they get sent back because I just cant go. I have stood in line for 45 minutes to 2.5 hours!! It is ridiculous they only have one window open and multiple other windows open not attending anyone. It is 2/24/2015, I assume the lazy mail man that came today is the regular guy. He has also shoved $300-650 college book packages into my tiny mail box, ruining them. Well in defense of this location the 10461 area is huge, Pelham Bay, Westchester square, parts of Throgs neck and even co op city....However there is no excuse for 7 PM deliveries in our low rise neighborhood -overwhelmingly one and two family homes. We are the last deliveries on the route and we have to deliver the neighbor's mail with all the mistakes made, very annoying. read more

As others have said, not an awesome place to visit. The parking situation is usually miserable, but sometimes you can get a metered spot. The agents are just as angry as the people waiting in line and usually do the bare minimum to move along. Super slow. The one on Williamsbridge is much more pleasant and the agents move a bit faster. read more

I've lived in at least a dozen ZIP codes in my life, and this is BY FAR the worst post office I've ever had to deal with. The lines are always horrendous, and the windows are staffed by the rudest, most incompetent postal workers I've ever encountered. They're slow and disorganized, and trying to get anything done while there is an exercise in futility. But wait - there's more! The incompetence doesn't end with the staff inside the building! The actual letter carriers are the epitome of lazy. Over the years, I've ordered a number of things online, and have learned that it's worth it to pay extra for delivery via UPS or FedEx (or even local courier!), rather than cheaper or free USPS shipping. Any time that a package is to be delivered to me, the letter carrier will automatically leave one of those slips stating that "delivery was attempted", but no one was there to receive it. Even with packages that do not require a release signature. They don't ring the bell (even when I've left signs on my door explicitly stating to do so), they don't try leaving it with a neighbor, they just leave a notice. What's more, they won't even attempt a second delivery (which I thought they had to) - they just leave the notice and make me come pick it up at the post office, so I have to deal with the long lines, and morons behind the windows. The most recent incident was this week. An delivery was "attempted" (there was someone home at the time of the "attempt", so we know they never rang the bell), and another notice was left. Because I work later hours, there's no way I can make it there before they close. I signed the notice, indicating that my boyfriend (who lives at the same address as me) could pick it up on my behalf. When he went, the guy at the window gave him a hard time, saying essentially that he would let him pick up the package for me this one time, but next time he'd have to present my original ID (no copies accepted!) in addition to his own. So, if I have a package that someone else is picking up for me, I can't drive anywhere, because I have to surrender my license as proof of.....what, exactly? And this package WASN'T EVEN SENT WITH A RELEASE SIGNATURE REQUIRED!!! This Post Office is beyond useless. No wonder USPS is bleeding money, employing idiots like these. read more

I called this Post Office location for assistance at 9 a.m. (June 8, 2011 -10:33) I've been on hold for 1hr and 30 mins. Of course, I have them on speaker. Whether I'm going to finally get a respond or assistance soon? I have no idea. I will hold on speaker until 11 a.m. I understand that business may be busy, but that busy to still have me on hold? This woman is nasty and rude. I think she should get a write up over mistreating a customer and being demeaning. I felt very disrespected. I have managed before and if one of my staff would have addressed a customer in this manner, they would be FIRED immediately. This is completely unacceptable and disgusting behavior. I think this is the case due to the USPS main source of revenue is the parcel service and can't afford thier competitors to overshadow them. I just wish the customer service was better. This is my neighborhood post office. Lines are usually long and they are understaffed. Mail carrier is grumpy but gets the job done. Had a great experience via phone with Ms. Watts, a supervisor there who heard my complaint and took steps to try to rectify it. This is one of the worst post offices in the bronx. Being small isn't the problem. They are Slow as molasses in this dump. Once i went and not ONE person was at the counter, the line was small, i was the 5th person online and stayed on line for an hour or so while NO on attended any of the counters. I went into the PO on December 13, 2011 to send some Christmas's gifts to my family and ask what will be the cheapest quickest way for my package to get there they told me and I paid 20 + dollars my package was supposed to be delivered on December 19, 2011 and it has not yet reach the location it was sent to. When I track it on line it states it was accepted at the sort faculty in the Bronx on December 13, 2011 and there is no further information and no one knows anything. Still waiting for a package that was suppose to be redelivered. Emailed them. for redelivery with information to leave it with front desk. Found out that the package was sent back to the Westchester Square P.O. instead the Zerega P.O. The mailman told me that the post office was being painted. White Plains Post Office( I don't think it matters which location but it was the main branch since apparently you can only have that "service at that location. I had my mail stopped by their recommendation after not receiving mail for two months. When I went to pick up my mail they said I never stopped my mail. So I did it a second time via email and again"no Mail" until I gave them my conformation number. They gave me three pieces of mail. The next time I went they denied it again and gave me such a hard time until they finally gave me a piece of mail and then never again was I able to pick up any mail. Excuse after excuse with intimidation. So for a total of five months I did not receive mail but had to suffer the consequences such as no credit card, debit card, Oprah Magazine. You can imagine. And, according to them, there is no official way to file a grievance. Apparently it does not exist. read more
