I come here only when I have to (pick up package or drop off packages). This post office had lost my package (with the pink pick-up package slip) before and I had to get the product resent from the company; when I arrive to pick it up, I got both packages at the same time. I came recently to buy some stamps (I had ordered some on their website for specialty cute stamp designs) but I wanted the $5 stamp for a SASE author swag promotion- I couldn't wait the 2 week for delivery. And since I was there, I decided to buy some more Forever stamp booklet to continue supporting our US post office. Turns out, they have limited stamp designs and didn't have the $5 stamp so, they had to count out $5 worth of postage using the forever stamps. I didn't want 10 stamps on my large envelope but had to deal with that. read more

Went in to request an address change form. The rudest woman behind the counter said "We don't have them! You have to go somewhere else!" Asked if they were going to get any forms next week and she said "No! Never!" I've never been to a place where the agents couldn't care less about helping you. Awful service We just moved and this is our new post office. First the letter carrier refuses to deliver packages to my apt. I have to go down to pick them up myself. When you cant go down because your baby is sleeping and you schedule a redelivery, same result. Next, if your package is too heavy they leave notices that YOU have to go to them to get it. So....basically they dont want to do their jobs. I used to have zero issues in our previous building but now i have to get rid of amazon prime and just go to stores like its 1989. read more

Can't say I am surprised that the workers were rude but at the same time I am. I made a full service passport appointment at their location and received the worst service ever. There is absolutely no structure of good practice. You have a confirmed appointment...yet you line up like everyone else. Not sure why have an appointment then. When you arrive at the window and tell them you have a passport appointment, they look at you like deers in headlight. The lady asked me "since when did they reopen passport service?"....How the F do I know? Then she asks a coworker and turns out they do have a list of appointments. The coworker then comes over to the window and they both tell me they don't actually offer passport photos/renewal application services. They only mail them out for customers. What is this the twilight zone? You literally have a passport photo service for $30 on your website...and it is not outdated info because there is mention that due to covid, only regular processing is permitted (meaning no expedited passports). Mind you, there is also an AD on loop playing on the tv monitor. Then it got even better...they both had the audacity to ask each other right in front of me on why I went there. The exact words were "why is she here?"...why the F do you think I am here? You seriously think I want to enter a post office filled with people not 6' apart during a pandemic? I had an appointment. This post office is terrible. Every time I go in there they have a line out the door. One teller and where is the management. Not to mention the one teller they do have is always rude. So apparently they attempted delivery 3 days ago but I wasn't home. Of course they left No note telling me which post office the package was going back to. Or that they were even there. I found out from the sender. I called the main usps phone # (800-275-8777)and they told me based on my zip code (11223) my package was located at the gravesend post office. They gave me the # to gravesend and I said goodbye. *big mistake* (I should've just scheduled Redelivery with the person I had just spoken to and would've avoided hours of frustration) After calling gravesend incessantly and getting no answer but a busy signal. I gave up, as it was getting later in the day, and called the main USPS # again before it got too late. I left my # and this time waited an hour later until I got a call back from the main usps office in Georgia. I scheduled Redelivery for tomorrow and told them to tell the gravesend people to leave the package w my buildings superintendent if no one was home. If the employees at the gravesend office would pick up the phone maybe the whole process could have been expedited within 2-4 min tops as opposed to a couple of hours. I don't know why they are hiding out over there but it is Beyond frustrating. You are ruining people's days with your non desire to do your jobs!!!!!!!! How hard is it to leave a note or answer the phone. What do they pay you for!!!! read more

The manager at this location has got to be the rudest woman I have ever met. I don't understand why you would enter a career willingly, in which you are supposed to be helpful to people, when you don't actually like people! She is rude to absolutely everyone, for no other reason then she just seems to be in a permanent bad mood. I've even seen her make her employees cry. Beware of the pickup package lady at the last window. Worst customer service I ever receive in my life today. I got yelled at because I thought she called my name which sounded similar to another person's, so I signed the form and she just watched me and flipped out a minute after. Honestly, I didn't know why she didn't stop me ahead of time. Then when my package was found, she threw it into a window. Glad my package wasn't fragile because she would've BROKE it. After I picked it up, she muttered something which was most likely rude towards me. My sister had the same pickup package lady a few weeks ago. She couldn't open the window and she yelled at her, telling her repeatedly to open the window door. This unprofessional lady should get fired. If she hates her job so much, don't even bother working in customer service. Also, she should get her mental health checked for anger issues. read more

If I could go lower than one star, I would. Folks, please forgive me for how I am about to curse this place out and please don't let your children get exposed to what I am about to say. Management and some other workers of this post office are impudent rude disrespectful LIARS, and CRIMINALS. Besides horrific customer service, they defraud money from the system for supposed attempted deliveries that they never actually attempt. That means that the post office bills for truck deliveryman man-hours, gasoline and all other logistics that accompanies pretended deliveries. So it is not just utterly disrespectful customer service, it is an actual theft and fraud. I am not sure how much the truckers are involved, but the management is well aware and covering it up. This has been going on for years, one of the examples is; It was one of countless times when the deliveryman supposedly came by, but no one answered the door for him. Which was an obvious lie, since I was always there specifically waiting for delivery. So I called the actual post office to complain and they began to lie how they track every driver with GPS system and how they monitor his "red dot" entering my building and leaving it ( might I mention that the pink slip "we missed you" as usual came the next day with the regular mailman who placed it in my mailbox.) I would really like to see something being done about such blatant and disrespectful treatment of customers by deceitful and thieving USPS workers. After years of complaining to the usual USPS hotline, and after seeing all these reviews here on on google, I am trying to figure out what other options I have. Their phone line doesn't work. You have to call the 800 number. They send out people who do not deliver packages. I've personally seen how they enter the building and leave not ringing the bell nor knocking on the door. They will leave a notice stating that they attempted to deliver which is bull because i was home all of those time they "attempted". read more

This post office opens at 8am, which is nice if you need to do something before work, and closes at 5pm M-F and 1pm Saturdays. This place is ALWAYS a madhouse around 11am-2pm, so avoid it at these times if you can. If not expect to be waiting a long time, because when these people get a lot of work to do, they just seem to slow down. The workers though are all generally nice people when you deal with them, unlike other experiences at post offices that will remain nameless in this review. One bad thing, and it seems to be the norm at most PO now, not enough materials or none at all when you walk in. So you need to wait in a line, then ask for the stuff you need, and then go fill it all out. This is so stupid and really unorganized, but I have just become used to it by now, that it is not even an issue anymore. read more

Moved to Gravesend about a year ago and have had to deal with this post office for the entire year of 2014. This post office has no automated shipping machines where you can have your packages weighed and you can purchase postage without having to go through the window. To me, this was a MAJOR time saver and used this machine every single time at the Woodside post office. Also, they don't have a package drop box. Previously, I would leave pre-paid packages in one of the windows they use as a dropbox. At first I was a bit nervous leaving it there since anyone can open that glass window to take a box out but I haven't had any issues with theft so far. Recently, I saw a sign saying that customers are no longer allowed to leave pre-paid packages there and that we would need to schedule a package pickup. I thought this was a bit annoying but I followed their protocol and scheduled two packages for pickup. The first package was picked up within the time window they've indicated - no issues. However, no one showed up to pick up for my second scheduled package pickup. To further annoy me, I receive an emailing claiming that the pickup was confirmed/successful...as I look over to the package laying on the floor waiting to be picked up next to me. Furthermore, I have had packages with "Notice Left" but I never see any notices. I work from home so I know when no one rings the bell. No one shows up. They just indicate that they've "attempted delivery" but that is a lie. I have filed several complaints about this post office on the USPS website but it seems like no one cares and I see no changes, no replies, no calls from the manager. Thankfully I am moving back to Woodside and I am counting the days that I no longer have to deal with the Gravesend post office. read more

When you call the location all they say is that they will speak to the driver, and they they ask if I would like it redelivered? For what. The management of this post office has to be replaced. They simply don't care what's going on. If you have packages that require signature confirmation, good luck getting it without going to the post office. They either don't have enough people or they are just lazy. Employees are rude and don't care about anything. They will scan the package. "Out for delivery." The next thing would be "Notice Left" They won't show up at your door or give you a pick up slip. You may or may not receive it in mail the next day. This happened 5 times since early this year. I have surveillance camera at my door, and I know exactly if they have delivered or not. Every single tracking says Out for delivery, and later "Notice left", but no, no delivery, and no pick up slip, 2/5 times I got a pick up slip in mail the next day. Also, don't even bother with rescheduling delivery...redelivery is not available with this post office. They will ignore every request and nothing would ever happen if you try to reschedule online. I have over 10 reschedule request, and my success rate so far is 0%. People complained about this post office having a long time. Every time I go to this place to pick up packages, I would see a bunch of people showing up to pick up packages with a tracking number. It would take the employee forever to find it. Of course everyone is pissed. I never see this in my previous post office. I work in e-commerce business and we ship over 50K USPS packages a year. Next time when I see our USPS representative, I ll make sure my complaints are heard. By the way, if you really can't make it to the post office to pick up your package, the only way is to file a complaint online, and the manager will call you and your package will be delivered the next day. read more

I ordered a book from Amazon on August 18th, 2011. It's now September 12th, and I haven't heard a word about it. There was no tracking number, and I work 9-5 so I can't stop by this Post Office on weekdays. I tried to call them repeatedly for hours on Saturday - the one day I can go - but there was a constant busy signal. Today, 9/12, is a Monday, and there's still a busy signal. To hell with this place. Seriously. They've done this so many times to me, where they forget to notify me about a package and end up holding it or returning it without my knowledge. Their customer service is as awful as other reviewers have mentioned, and they don't even have a stamp machine or an Automatic Shipping Machine. Lastly, my mailman has a habit of leaving our building mailboxes open and swinging. He also misplaces mail into the wrong boxes, or leaves it sitting on the radiator instead of putting it where it belongs. Ugh. read more

These Post offices in graves end have bulletproof dividers between the customer and the clerk. Typically use to prevent a robbery from taking place. On the day I went Saturday 5/27/17 I there was only 2 clerks so we get a line very quickly. The Postmaster did come out asking if people was picking up packages and if I was making a purchase with a credit card which I was so I was able to get off the line !! read more

There are many, I repeat MANY, problems with this particular post office. However there is only so much time in the day so I will just focus on one. Several times in the last few months, I have tracked a package, waiting at home on the delivery date, only to refresh the tracking page and see that delivery was (allegedly) attempted. Each time I have sucked it up and just gone to the post office next chance i got and waited in line for 30-45 minutes while grumbling to myself and those around me about how shitty this office is. I ordered a package on the 4th to be delivered on the 6th. Worked out perfectly since I was off on the 6th. At 1pm, i refreshed the page and saw the dreaded delivery attempted/notice left. All day I had been home and not a single bell was rung. I attempted to call the office, hoping that I could get them to call the carrier and turn him/her around but surprise surprise their phone was coming up busy (another problem? they seem to just leave it off the hook all the time). I went to the post office hoping that i could find a reasonable person to speak to but instead I found Howie. Howie is apparently a supervisor, stress that apparently. So in my calmest angry voice, I tell Howie what happened and informed him that this was my only day off and that the office hours were not exactly friendly to anyone who works a 9-5 (another problem). He tells me that he can't contact the carrier and when i pointed out that it was 2014 and I'm sure the carrier had a cell phone, he then told me that he didn't have their number and that only one other supervisor had the numbers. Again I pointed out the cell phone thing and he rolled his eyes, replaced the piece of cardboard that is routinely over window 1 and walked away. 5 minutes later, he returned and stated that he could not get in contact with the carrier because she was not the regular carrier. At this point, I reminded him that there are a ton of ppl that had this same problem and his customer service skills are lacking and that the least he could do was apologize for my inconvenience. Howie, the supervisor, with all his infinite supervisory wisdom, told me that he would not apologize because he has not spoken to the carrier and I could somehow be mistaken about the fact that I was home and my bell was not rung. Before I walked away, Howie informed me (after I asked 3 times) that the carrier returns at 4:30, guess who's going back at 4:45 to speak with good ole Howie and find my package. I am never having any packages delivered to this office and if you don't want to be inconvenienced and lied to I would suggest you do the same. read more

There are many days the Chinese mail lady does not deliver on our block, Pathetic, I'm glad email, FedEx and UPS have killed the USPS. read more

They're so good. I put a sticky thing on a little card, and put it in a box. These guys took it out of the box, and handed it to my mom. She lives like 500 miles away. I can imagine that the same guy did the same thing for my friend from Japan who also put a piece of paper in that box. read more

Awful service!!! My package was due for delivery 11/28/19. Not only there was no notice left for delivery attempt, but after I've scheduled a re-delivery, that re-delivery was not even attempted(mind you I took off work and stayed at home to receive my package). More over their phone line does NOT work....RVER!!! I had to reach out to customer survive in regards to my package. I was given a case # and told to wait for supervisor to give me a call back within 3 day. Did NOT receive any call back!!! Had to reach out to customer service again. I was told that my case # was marked as "Resolve", but I am not sure how my case was resolved because I haven't revealed my package nor supervisors phone call. I was given another case #, now it was escalated to consumer services & costumer service representative scheduled another attempt for re-delivery for tomorrow(12/17/19). Now my boyfriend is taking off work to be present for re-delivery. Lets see if they will make any attempt to re-deliver tomorrow(12/17/19) I can not wait for that call back from consumer services!!! Good thing my building has cameras and I will have plenty evidence for my complaint.(No attempt delivery notice. No attempt to redeliver. I made an appointment to get my 3 month old a passport. Despite having an appointment, I waited over an hour with a screaming baby to submit the paperwork i had prepared in advance and to take a passport photo. When they finally acknowledged me, they told me their camera was broken so i couldn't take the picture that day, therefore could not submit the passport application. I literally left in tears. This post office does have some good workers. The guy who delivers packages on truck in my neighborhood is great but the mail carriers are awful and the Supervisor either doesn't return calls or just says the mail carrier says he put it in the box. The mail carrier is either different all the time and the one who is presently the regular one is rude and misdelivers mail all the time. I've lost 8 4"x8" envelopes from ebay in a year and a half that say delivered but I never got them. All say they were delivered on tracking. Very suspicious. I have contacted my congressman and hopefully he can help. I advise everyone else having a problem with this post office do the same! read more

I have several major problems with this post office. First, the rude people, especially this one lady who works there. I've seen her yell at people, make fun of people right in front of their face just because they can't speak English well, and laugh at people when she can't help them. She basically smirks whenever people have a problem. She's also deaf - I once had to repeatedly say I'm mailing a package using a certain service, yet she inputs it as a different more expensive service. Every time I stop by here to mail out packages, I hope I don't ever get this lady. In fact, if I had the time to, I would be letting the person behind me go on ahead of me if she's the person available just so I don't have to deal with her. This post office is also SLOW. If there is five people ahead of you - three can just be buying stamps - prepare to wait at least thirty minutes for your turn. Every time I head to this post office, I'm prepared to wait at least thirty minutes for my turn. The more people the workers see on line, the slower they work. I feel extremely sorry for the people picking up their missed packages with their pink slips as those lines wrap around the entire post office and there's only one open station to help them. I also don't know how this was possible, but when I once mailed out a package to my friend who lives in one state and the receipt even says that the package is going there, the tracking number indicates that the package was going to be sent to a whole another state. My friend never got their package. If you're also waiting for mail to be delivered from this place, half the time, I get a "Notice Left" when it's extremely obvious that no one came to deliver my package at all: 1) Lots of people was home those days and 2) No notice was ever left. "Notice Left" is just an excuse they use for "we're too lazy to actually go out and deliver your packages." This post office also doesn't honor scheduled times - whenever I get a "Notice Left" message (when again, no notice was ever left), I schedule a redelivery time online, only for them to never honor that time, but deliver the package at their own pace, usually three to four days later. Also, you know when you see "delivered" for a package you were waiting for that was SO not delivered? Well, I ordered an expensive package online, saw it was stamped "delivered" when it wasn't delivered, and rushed to the post office the next day. I had to wait to speak with the supervisor as he arrives later than the post office hours only to learn that the package was in fact never delivered, but kept in the back somewhere. When asked why the package was marked as "delivered" when it so obviously wasn't, I received some answer that didn't make sense whatsoever. This is a definitely a post office you should avoid. read more
