Was sending package off. Arrived 5 minutes before closing. I know i am that person. Hell of a morning please understand. I tried to be jovial. I had a priority plastic case. It all i had at at home. I asked if i could not send it priority cause the deliver would be charged. They said no. Had to buy different bag. I had to remove contents from the priority bag. I had a small box cutter in my pocket. But...i accidentally sliced my thumb in being hasty and careless. So I'm dripping a little blood. Embarrassing i know. I ask for a band aid. They have none. He gives me a shred of brown paper towel. The cheap thin kind. I use the tape dispenser to secure my diy bandage. I am trying to keep good spirits through this Embarrassing show. I say, " i hope you are having a better day than me. " His response is, "I'm having a great day, actually!" What a jerk. What an unfeeling apathetic callous jerkoff. I realize my bumbling accident prone self was showing itself. But i was pleasant. I kept a good sense of humor. Your staff has no grace or sympathy. I've gone to this post office a few times and it seems like they're pretty chronically understaffed - the line has been almost out the door every time. Staff also generally are pretty short with you and not really willing to help or explain things. read more

Ok, so the indoor clerks at the counter are good as far as talking to people. But the operation of the place is horrible. They do not answer the phone. I call smaller post offices which answer on one or two rings and are quite helpful. I am tired of my mail ping ponging across the state. I watch the tracking. Today's parcel was in Carlisle this morning, but instead of delivering it, they sent it to Williamsport. This is not a one off occurrence. I'm tired of waiting days while things travel back and forth rather than being delivered. I've heard that it is policy that they are supposed to answer the phone. Nothing worse than poor cust service and then not even bothering to answer the phone. If they are understaffed, maybe hire someone rather than sending packages all over... just saying. Had the pleasure of dealing with two rude employees one being the manager Asher and the other Kasey. I usually never make bad reviews let alone reviews at all but after today i will. My family and I went in to get passports under the impression that the walk in hours were from 3-4. We got there at 3:15 filled out all 4 appications by 3:30 just for them to tell us they wont be able to do the service then when we asked for them to just do the girls another excuse came about . After this you can assume frustration levels were starting to boil, but without being vulgar or profound he then said he would refuse to do the service. To me this was just a sign of laziness and unwillingness to help your customer, not to mention they are open to 6 i doubt what needed to be done took more than an hour. They never answer the phone so I had to come in person and had a super annoying and disrespectful experience with the two middle aged women in here. I've been here three-times in the last month or so for dropping off mail and passport meetings. Each time the staff was extremely rude and dismissive. Granted I can understand some frustration as I made some mistakes on paperwork, but they made no effort to explain what was wrong without being patronizing and acting like their time was being wasted. Instead of delivering my package, the mail carrier for whatever reason took it back to the post office and left a slip saying to get it there. When I went in with the slip, the counter person immediately had a bad attitude about it and said to me quite rudely, "I don't have all day to look for your package." read more

The Carlisle Post Office is the most dysfunctional post office I have ever experienced in my lifetime of living in multiple locations throughout my 30+ years on active duty in the Marine Corps! USPS service was off the charts amazingly great everywhere I have lived throughout the United States (Missouri, Virginia, North Carolina, California, Georgia). But the Carlisle, Pennsylvania Post Office is the worst I have ever experienced. The Carlisle Post Office is very obviously lacking leadership and direction from the top. I placed a hold on my mail on 13 June 2024 to begin on Saturday 15 June 2024 and resume delivery on Monday 24 June. I have email confirmation and a printed document from the Carlisle Post Office to document and prove it. The Carlisle Post Office violated my request to hold my mail by delivering 20 pieces of my mail to my neighbor across the street mid-week during my "hold mail" period. Included in that violation of my "hold mail" request was 20 pieces of mail and a printed copy of my "Hold Mail Request" that was printed by the Carlisle Post Office on the day I submitted my "hold mail" request on 13 June 2024. I just spoke with Adam at the Carlisle Post Office and he told me I was wrong and that the Carlisle Post Office was continuing to hold my mail. Adam was arrogant, disrespectful, and did not respond in a manner that is becoming to a positive image of the United States Postal Service. Very sad for USPS! Semper Fidelis read more

Absolute waste of tax dollars. My daughter is at Dickinson College for a summer course. "Supposedly" the post office "attempted" delivery at 11am, but the "business was closed". Right. It's a college dorm on campus. Classes start at 8am. Everyone is up and about. They have staff at the door. It is not closed. Amazon says they will attempt delivery on next business day, which is today, Tuesday. Nope. Carlisle USPS has now scheduled it for Friday. My daughter actually needs these items. This post office is terrible. Was home all day Saturday awaiting a package. The carriers don't bother to knock on your door to check if your home (for signature items). Then when I went to the post office to inquire what general time my route carrier might be back so I could retrieve a package from the post office, the clerk was snippety as if my question was an inconvenience, would not give me a answer even though the post office is open until 6:00 which should be more than enough time for the carrier to finish his route and retrieve the package if I returned later that afternoon. My mail is always missing. 7 packages this week alone. Yet it is signed off as delivered in my mailbox. Which is 2 inches high. Yet signed off that a backpack and a 10 piece solar light kit was delivered? Impossible. Even my Mailman didn't know who was person signing it or where my mail was today. Unacceptable. We found over a dozen pieces of mail in an open unlabeled mailbox last month that was put there by other mailman. They really don't seem to care and it's a gamble whether my mail or packages get to me. read more

i had a vintage coat that was marked as left in my parcel locker this was incorrect i had no key to a parcel locker in my box and there fore it must have been put into someone else mailbox had to file a claim on the website lady called me got the details and stated i will look into it she called me back and stated it was pinged at that parcel locker so the driver must have put the key into the wrong locker can you go and knock on your neighbors door.........i said no im not close to my neighbors and in my park theres a bunch of low lives who wont do the right thing she said sorry and good luck finding your package lol ok thanks so now im typing up a 50 dollar reward for whoever returns my package to me and am going to have to walk through my park and hand put them on everyone door cuz i mean its not like i can count on mailing them to get them there smh awful awful awful location in Carlisle pa and awful customer service because some nim wit marked it delivered yet it wasnt im now on the prowl and also gonna be out more money to find the coat its a shame as a tax payer i shouldnt have to stress about my mail and carlisle with how much your taxes are you should really get this shit in order this place needs investigated and revamped re-staffed awful people who just dont care read more

I'm here very frequently the line is always out the door there is only ever 1 cashier I was genuinely surprised they find 3 the day before Christmas Eve! Genuinely shocking! And then once you get to the counter they are very nice but incredibly slow no wonder the line is always so long then I was there and I finally get to the counter and the cashier is talking to the other cashier the entire time I'm there and he almost completely messed up my package because he wasn't paying attention! On top of all of that THEY ARE NEVER OPEN! I got here the day AFTER Christmas everything says it should be open but no of course they aren't that would just be too convenient. In the five minutes I sat in the parking lot about 20 other cars came and we're just as pissed as me that they are closed, no sign no indication of why they are closed. Post office hours are terrible enough as it is. I sent my daughter a package via Priority Mail over a week ago and it is has been sitting in the Carlisle Post Office waiting to be processed for days. Why does this post office have such bad reviews?! I had a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. And I barely had to wait in line. I'm used to city/large suburb post offices where the line is at least 10 people ahead of you and people behind the counter don't really smile, they just want to know what you want and get on to the next customer. this post office provides horrible service. The service is typically slow and long lines form. But even worse than actually going to the post office for service is their mail delivery, we can go days without mail delivery even though the informed delivery says we are supposed to have mail delivered. Often times packages are showing out for delivery and then don't get delivered until days later. Sometimes packages are marked delivered on the tracking but don't get delivered until days later. sometimes our mailman puts a notice in our mail box saying he could not deliver a package that needed signed for because no one was home, even though someone was home. I cannot imagine this post office could be manager any worse than it currently is! read more

I think it is a prerequisite to work her to be mean and rude! We live our regular mailman but the people in the building and most fill in mailmen are rude, lazy and nasty! One guy parked in front of my mailbox, marked a package as couldn't be delivered b/c mailbox blocked and drove off. Obviously too lazy to get out of the vehicle. I called into the post office and a lady claiming to be the post master started screaming at me! If we have a fill in driver, we don't get our mail until 8 or 9 at night!!! The folks at this post office are generally very nice, helpful, and responsive. This office does have some rush hours such as around 12 - 1 and aroun 4 - 5 every day but other than that it is usually not terribly busy and lines are quite short. Good service here. read more

If I could give this rating zero stars I would. (Be Mindful during each of these attempted deliveries I never once saw a delivery come by my house or up my driveway) This Post Office not once but twice did an attempted delivery with a package of mine to the wrong place. The first time it wasn't an issue I got my package the next day. This time around though after they did it again they asked me to pick it up. I go to pick it up and not only does the person helping me tell the first time they can't find my package. The second time they tell me it's in bin getting loaded on to a truck and it would take them "45 minutes" to find my package refusing to get my package when I was told to come pick it up. read more

We have been getting our mail at literally 8pm or later if at all. I had a letter out today and it has still yet to be picked up even though a mail truck went by our mailbox and just kept right on going and turned around and went up the street. What is going on? I think it is absurd that we keep getting mail later and later. And don't give me any story about government funding. Hire people and get them to do the job the right way. Carlisle Post Office provides outstanding customer service. I'm not sure why they would ever receive a bad review as people must be allowing their emotions to get in the way of their evaluations. The delivery time of my carrier is consistently the same and whenever I go into the lobby the wait time is reasonable and the customer service is well worth it even if it happens to be a longer wait than usual. The staff is friendly and courteous. Even when I encountered a minor delivery issue with a package, the Postmaster was quick to resolve the issue placing the customer's satisfaction first. Our mail in Churchtown is constantly going to the wrong mailbox. I have called 4 times since we became an auxiliary delivery route for the Carlisle post office. We never had trouble like this when it was delivered by Boiling Springs. I complained last week because the only delivery we got the week before was a letter that had "Delivered to wrong address" written on it. The day after I complained we got some junk mail. Our VISA bill was handed to me by the neighbor. A couple of months ago I had a bill that was 2-3 weeks delinquent when we received it with the same "Delivered to wrong address". Today I received 3 pieces of mail that belonged to my neighbor which means that ours went to the mailbox where she returns it a month later. This is unacceptable!!! If I could give negative stars I would. If it does not improve, I am going to have to go higher. At Christmas, about 6 Christmas cards came in January with "Delivered to wrong address". Some days we get mail and some days we do not even hear the truck. Sometimes it is at 4:30 and one day last week it was at 9:30 at night but at least we received some. It seems that either you need additional help or you need to fire the incompetent deliverers. I am now missing my mastercard bill which usually comes on the 3rd. read more
