As far as USPS goes, this one isn't all bad. It's a bit out of town, limited parking, trucks…read moreturning around and idling and it can get busy - but the staff is cordial and professional helping old ladies and young bucks, all in one line. The postal boxes are clean.. there's a table to do your mail business and work. Trash bins. Pens. Scissors. Pamphlets and all the mailers you can shake a roll of stamps at. Double doors make this location a quick alternative to other slow poke places where the line is out the door. Another bonus is that this USPS building is at the crossroads of major thru highways and roads. That way managing things you may have forgotten to mail or need to go home to fetch and send out, is a half-way back trip only. Never had an issue. My beef is with the driver who decided he would rather not deliver this small package, and so he or she marked it as not delivered because there was "no access" to the delivery location. This was simply a bald faced lie, as it easily fits in our roadside mailbox (where indeed it was delivered the next business day). In fact, earlier the same day the USPS dropped off a couple of packages on our porch. So much for "no access." We have no moat and drawbridge on our driveway. When we called the post office to report that the driver had simply lied about the reason for not delivering that package, we were told it was not the usual driver and to call back the next day. I don't understand why only the "usual driver" can stuff a small package in a large roadside mailbox. The frustration is knowing that this mendacious driver will suffer no consequences for the substantial inconvenience this caused us. I would like to think that someone at that organization cares, but I have no illusions.

She ket getting louder and louder that 'she had to go to lunch at 11:45 am' and she was complaining to each person in line about it. Well, turns out it was the Post Master, some middle-aged woman with an accent (strict;y a description so you know who to look out for) crying to each customer about her lunch time. She was trying to shut the doors while people were in line but she couldn't because people were in the middle of a transaction. She was crying about she needed to go to lunch, over and over and over, lunch lunch lunch me and all the customs had to hear. So just letting you know, that is you go to Platekill Post Office, and are lucky enuff to get Clerk 07 (middle age Spanish lady), this is what you're going to have to deal with: you trying to get your Post Office business done while the Post Master (Clerk 07) is not concerned about your Post Office business but that you're making her late for lunch. Any issues I have had with lost or slow mail, they have been diligent to help me figure out the causes / issues that may have caused the problem. Not only have they helped give me all the information I needed to get the answers, but they also follow up with me to see if they were resolved! I have shipped over 800 packages and every time I am greeted with smiles. They work together like a family and it's really refreshing to see such a tight knit group of dedicated workers with lovely personalities. Always smiling and quick with a friendly joke. I have NEVER had this experience at any other USPS location. This particular location goes above and beyond. I have been pitched to by UPS and FedEx, but I am staying on board with USPS for all my shipping because of them! Keep up the great work ladies! Pleasure doing business with you all!
