All I can say is that I wish that they cloned this one. The postmistress is as nice as can be -- cheerful and helpful to the customer. That's true with other country post offices that I've dealt with, but I think that that the one in Callicoon Center is particularly noteworthy for the quality of service provided. There are plans afoot to shut rural post offices, and fortunately the Callicoon Center P.O. isn't on the hit list. One merchant, who lives some distance away in a different zip code, told me that he keeps a p.o. box at this post office because of its reputation for great service. I kid you not. This is the Nirvana of post offices. I buy all my stamps here, and I mail packages from here as much as possible because it's important to give business to rural post offices that are in danger of closing.

Friday I got a notice of certified mail to be picked.up…read more The sender's information is illegible on the form. I have to work Saturday, Sunday they are closed, Monday is a holiday. I might have to get someone else to pick it up for me depending upon the sender. I would have to jump through hoops last minute. I check tracking online and it doesn't show the sender. I call the 800 USPS number and after waiting 19 minutes for a human they said they do not know who the sender is. I call the post office at 7:10ish and David says he cannot look it up and he doesn't have anyone to look it up now. He said he is busy sorting. I asked when there would be someone there to look it up. He said 10am. WHAT?!?!?! They open at 8:30 and cannot tell me until 10 who sent this to me? He said he was busy sorting. I told him I really appreciate his helpfulness. I think I'll call every 15 minutes until I get my answer.

In Jan 2020, after my company switched medical insurance companies, I had to mail proof of the severity of my injury so my old company would continue coverage. Letter was in my mailbox with extra postage. Insurance company never received my letter. This week, my mortgage went up significantly because they used my escrow to pay a school tax bill I NEVER RECEIVED in August 2019. Went to the post office to complain. We got yelled at. Honesdale PA post office is the worst!
