This is the worst post office! Avoid this location! The wait time is ridiculous longer than 30mins, 15-20 people in line and only one window open. Very poor service, so Ghetto. They have their kids working there, heard a young girl call the cashier "Daddy". They said they stop taking the last passport ticket at 12:30 but finish with them at 1pm. We were there at 12:25 today and the lady couldn't help us, she said "speak to my supervisor". We live in an area that offers limited local resources however we do have at least 3 postal offices in the area and several nearby, as customer service goes USPS has not been the gold standard however I am grateful for the service at a reasonable cost. I ship a lot to my out of state university student and priority mail makes a rush package affordable. The staff my not be gushy friendly but when asked for helped they do their best to find the item needed and will even suggest other locations if no supplies are available. Wondering why my mail either never arrives or is ALWAYS extremely late grrrr.... I've been in this area since 2003. I'd never had an issue with mail until about three years ago. It started with mail arriving after deadline dates!!! Tripped me out at first but no biggie until it started interfering with my bills being paid on time. That's when I turned everything to online bill pay. I had always questioned why my coworkers always received their checks/stubs in the mail at least 7 days before I did. I made no fuss about it until I ordered my credit report TWICE a couple years ago. (If anyone comes across them please deliver them to me). After the first round of not receiving my report I went to the post office and inquired about it. I was reassured that IF they had it, it would have been delivered. So, I called to have it sent out again and MADE SURE my address was correct....to this day, I have yet to receive it in the mail; both of them. Just recently, a bonus check was to arrive....Many coworkers said they'd received theirs weeeeeekkkkssss ago....I had to go to my job and wait for a reissued check and that is when I changed my address at work to send my mail to a relative's house in a different city and guess what? Whenever I have a package routed through this post office it takes several days before it finally moves on to my local branch for delivery.

It has its days when the lines are ridiculously long and when there are only one or 2 operating in the counter but overall with my years living nearby it, has been very reliable. I only wish that they would have more people in the window counters when there is a huge populace sending their mail. I can understand how customers feel when it takes just one person to hold up the lines for one or more pieces of mail. If you get your stamps and know the postage, it will save you the trouble. read more

I have been waiting for 2 of my orders that unfortunately had to come from this facility since 12/27/15. Both my orders are still in pre shippment and it does not look like I will get them. They say they attempted to deliver my package, I have security cameras and someone home all day that said nobody attempted anything. A note was said to be left for the attempt, negative, no note because nobody even tried to deliver it. Our mail Carrier is awesome, her initials are D.R., when she is off and is back to work she is a sight for sore eyes. It seems that when she is off, it is a given we will receive someone else's mail, or get no mail at all. I know she is so appreciated in our neighborhood. So if I'm getting other people's mail, Compton USPO, can you tell me who is getting my mail? As for walking in to a post office, I prefer Lakewood USPO, they are courteous , helpful and they have 3 self service kiosk. Also Lynwood, great service. These two branches are always well stocked, don't have to stand in a line to ask for a box. read more

The worst post office. They need to shut it down or do an internal investigation to see why mail is getting stolen, packages / mail aren't getting delivered at all or on time. I called the 1-800 number and they supposedly resent the package, yeah right. This location has been by far the worst experience ever. They lost a very expensive package of mine and when I called about it, the staff was very very rude. A man answered all times and kept arguing with me that there was nothing they could do. They had a new mail woman on our route and she messed up almost everyone's mail. I had gotten mail that was meant for two streets over and not even close to my address. And their response was "Ma'am mistakes happen" so who is going to refund my money? Dealing with this location was a horrible experience. I mailed documents from the Carson Office on 09/05/14 and they arrived at the destination on 09/08/14. A very knowledgeable and courteous clerk advised me that Express/Overnight service was not available to the destination zip code and suggested that I use Priority Service. On 09/08/14, I was advised that one other form was needed. I went to the Compton Santa Springs Location as it was close. What a mistake. The Clerk #42 was very rude and indicated that I needed to send the item Express/Overnight ($19.00) even though the guaranteed delivery date would not be until 09/10/14. I asked her when the item would arrive if I used Priority ($5.75); the date was the same 09/10/14. Needless to say the item did not arrive on 09/10/14. When I checked the Tracking, it indicated that the item did not arrive in Los Angeles until 2:54 Am on 09/10/14, so it stayed at the Compton Post Office for two days. The package contained Court documents so we will most likely need to change the flight so that my sister can file them whenever they arrive. read more

The post office complains about losing money - but when I put my packages out to be picked up at my office, the lazy-ass postal worker leaves them there! Happens many times if they don't feel like picking up the mail. They really do suck at this branch and the people working out of it do as well. Whenever I am waiting for a package and I see in the tracking information that it's going through Compton it always gets me agitated because I know it will stay in the Compton facility for several days before it moves again.
