I love when I go to a new post office and it's empty. Nice area, good parking situation. Went to drop off a few letters and get stamps. I just got regular book of 20 flag stamps, I wanted some fancy ones but I didn't want to pay extra. Clerk was very pleasant. Definitely recommend. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience after reading these reviews. I went to the post office on a Saturday at 4pm and there were 2 people in line in front of me and 1 person initially at the window. Shortly, 2 more employees suddenly appeared and moved quickly and efficiently. I was fortunate enough to have Anishah assist me. I've never had a negative experience at the post office (normally Torrance and I only go a couple times a year) but I've also never had one that compelled me to write a positive review. Don't drop off any mail you expect to be delivered soon. Send certified mail on May 16, 2025, from Gardena Post Office and was told it would be delivered on May 19, 2025. Today is Thursday May 22, 2025 and its still not delivered. I honestly believe this is an issue with the front desk personnel and management. Expected a package yesterday while I was at home but it wasn't delivered. Instead, I got an alert by the sender saying "No Access to Delivery Location" in the p.m. This is a lie, I was at home at that time and no one showed up. I even ran the CCTV around my house during the delivery time USPS pointed, no truck or mailman showed up. For the access, all the deliveries by Amazon, Fedex, UPS, they just leave the package in front of the house. Nothing blocks the delivery to my house. I've been trying to resolve my case for over a month now, going back and forth with USPS employees and customer service, reopening a new service request whenever they close mine without resolution. Every time I believe I'll receive some resolution, nothing happens or service reps will give me the go-around. The employee(s) who make the follow up calls with customers from this location needs to be retrained or replaced. I didn't get her name but she was not helpful despite me being polite and trying to explain my situation for the nth time. She just stated the USPS damaged mail policies that I've heard countless times by now and didn't know what to do. Did not apologize and just hung up after stating she'll need to speak with some people (which I do not believe for a second. She just wanted me off the phone). All I need is some email/documentation (LITERALLY ANY OFFICIAL LETTER OF SOME KIND) about some items being damaged upon delivery. I have a hard time finding time to go to the post office because of work and they will not accommodate a simple request. I've said countless times, I'm not looking to file a claim through USPS but rather with my vendor, as this is an international parcel. In order to receive compensation, I'm attempting to go through the vendor as that's where I purchased insurance from (and USPS claims there's no insurance on the package on their end so they won't be able to do anything anyway). This postal office and USPS as a whole does not/cannot seem to comprehend this nor will they provide me the thing I need. Rude creatures. Not only do these staff think they are cute mocking people, being sarcastic and disrespecting customers but they are racist to our hispanic and asian community. i had an altercation with a African American lady because she was being rude to a Spanish speaking customer. She made fun of how she only spoke Spanish, she kept laughing and making sarcastic remarks and being obnoxious and she was also rude to her son trying to translate for his mom. I looked at her because she was making myself and everyone else there uncomfortable so i look at her in disguise, she looked at me back and rolled her eyes at me started mocking me and being loud about how i was the one having a bad day. i told her how rude she was and she kept yapping and pointing fingers at me. When inquiring about a package that has not been delivered yet agent Gaynesha or Denisha laughed at me and said ok I asked what information do you need and she asked for my tracking number. (What I really should have asked was is she ok?) Says package could have been scanned and taken back to the vehicle. LOL because that's exactly why I go to the post office right. To scan my packages and take them back to my car? I asked to speak to a supervisor. Supervisor did not come out after 30 minutes of waiting and was asked to provide my name and call back. This took place 7/16 1:25pm . She said there were TWO supervisors in the back. From which none came out Kate Awada or Steven Have not heard back from anyone yet. I went ahead and filed a OIG complaint against them on usps.com and made a missing claim for my package. Online was more helpful than the staff at this location. As good as a post office is going to be. There could be a lost package or a super long line here and there, but most of the time this location is well staffed and has decent service. UPS loses more packages than US Mail in our experience and UPS doesn't let you talk to anyone anymore. So we've found the US Mail to be the better service so far. read more

Thank you, Gardena office! Thank you for being open during reasonable hours on a weekend! I don't have a lot of opportunities to run errands, and I was afraid I would have to wait another week, but here I am. This location is perfect for the lockdown. Glass separates both sides of the counter completely, and even if it didn't, all the staff were wearing masks properly, as were all the customers. Everyone seems to respect social distancing, and they have hand sanitizer available at every window. I shipped my package without a problem, and it arrived just as smoothly in the expected amount of time. I know USPS isn't always reliable, but I've had all my stuff ship and arrive just fine so far (knock on wood!) and I'll keep this location in mind if I need to ship anything again. read more

Got here about 10 minutes to 9am, sat in the car for a bit then decided to stand in line about 8:55am. Seven people in front of me and I was there just to drop off my care package (label already prepaid and boxed up). Doors open at 9am line moved forward and the lady at the door asks if I was just dropping off, I replied yes, handed over my box and I was done. YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2017: 87/100 I seriously dread coming here. But it happens - sometimes your package requires a signature. It doesn't matter what time or day you come through: IT IS ALWAYS CROWDED. Parking is like a gold mine. There's rarely a time I didn't have to wait for one to open up. There are 6 windows, but most of the time only half (sometimes less) are occupied by those poor hardworking staff. I came through to pick up my (whatever it was.) Three people ahead of me, so it was a good surprise that it wasn't crowded. However, 2 of those 3 had multiple and complicated transactions. I can never catch a break here. Update - we have noticed a marked improvement in service since leaving a review - we still get a reciept for items dropped off, but several packages were eventually located, albeit delivered very late. only a few are stilost. BEWARE as a company, we have many packages go missing/lost after drop off at this location - do NOT drop valuable items off, get a RECEIPT. It's gotten extremely bad over the last several months. We've taken packages, had them received at their back dock by an USPS employee, they refuse to scan them or give a receipt there. Then we find the item is never scanned in. We are at our wits end. I'm shocked how many people are being affected by the laziness of our local Gardena PO. First of all, of the 4 years I've lived in Gardena, I've never had a problem with receiving packages until recently. Now with my suspicious confirmed thanks to fellow yelpers, its safe to say that the Gardena PO is lazy to the bone...I guess the service at the counters inside the PO is OK but not great, but I digress, most people are in and out of there in 5 mins getting whatever business they need to do in there. The problem begins with the logistics. The delivery person for my address scans all the packages as "delivered" when in fact its still sitting somewhere in the back of the mail truck. The point of a tracking number or paid tracking is so that the buyers can rest assured knowing the whereabouts of their package at every stage of the delivery process. But scanning them as delivered when they're not - it kind of defeats the purpose of tracking and you can't be for sure where the package is anymore, giving both the buyer and seller unnecessary headaches. Sadly, of all the post offices I've been to, only in Gardena delivers packages this way. You guys really need to retrain your personnel to stop pre-scanning the packages as delivered and giving out false notifications. All is well if the package does in fact arrive at the residence eventually. But what happens when it does not..? In my case I can't even file a claim with the seller because they see the tracking showing as delivered, and I can't make the post office find my package because now they have no idea where my package is. I've went back and fourth by visiting the Gardena post office as well as sending as much as 10 emails to the seller regarding the issue. So in conclusion I've wasted my time as the post office just sent me into an endless loop of filing claims and in the end the claim was of course rejected because on the tracking it was showed as delivered. Their customer services phone number also just goes to a dead end and automatically hangs up on you. The fact that the post office even have GPS records of where the package was physically scanned as "delivered" but still they can't do anything about it. I am so disappointed with the results and the poor quality of our Gardena PO..I just want my money back... To make things worse, just after I got home from my most recent visit with the post office, apparently the supervisor called our local delivery person and she came knocking on my door and had the audacity to tell me that she's sure she made my delivery 2 weeks ago (btw she was the person that mis-scanned the package). I would of taken her word if she had properly delivered my package but at this point I can't take her word over the fact that my package was mishandled and subsequently lost. She then noticed that we have a CCTV surveillance camera at our door and told us to look at the footage from 2 weeks ago to see if she's made the right delivery. She was certain that she made sure to drop off every package at the right address, but as much as I'd like to check, our landlord said the CCTV only goes back 5 days worth of recording. Shame. And to wrap this all up, this would not have happened had she just scanned every package outside the correct address as she is making her delivery which is part of her job!!! I'm now short $160 thanks to the laziness of our local post office. From now on I will make sure all the buyers I buy from ships with UPS or Fedex..and as for the 1.5 average review for our post office on Yelp, you guys have truly earned it. read more

I hate this USPS location. Whenever I go there to pick up my undelivered package (because I have to not I want to), the answer I get is "we don't have your package" I'm here to get my package because your tracking says "ready for pick up" then you don't have it????? Our carrier won't deliver packages to our door -- he just marks them as delivery attempted and leaves a notice in the box -- because he can't be bothered in actually carrying the packages to the doors of units in the complex. I've filed tons of complaints to no avail. At Christmas time he switches it up and marks that we asked him to hold mail (we didn't) so we have to pick them up at the post office.
