I sat and waited for over thirty minutes for an associate to find my mail for me. The apartment complex I live in is physically destroying and completely redoing the mailboxes for the entire complex . My complex told me it would take them two full weeks to complete and that we need to pick up our mail at the local post office (this one.) the clerk who helped me was really reluctant to help me at all and then took quite literally over 30 minutes to find my mail for me, no packages. When she returned she didn't say thank you for waiting or anything of that nature. she told me that's how long it takes to find the mail so next time I really shouldn't come pick it up this way.... After I already explained to her and her supervisor what the situation was and why the mail was undeliverable. Which the manager agreed he was aware of. I was fine waiting until the clerk quite literally passive aggressively told me next time not to come pick up mail cause it takes her so long. Unprofessional and rude! I kindly explained to her that that doesn't change anything for me I will still need to be back next week to get my mail as it is undeliverable due to my physical mail box, and I thanked her for her time and said I'll see you next week. USPS at 7555 W Amherst Ave Denver, CO 80227: excellent service, very nice clerks' customer service and professional managers, ready to help you in a minute when having issues, for example with packages delivery. Few weeks ago, January 2025, I could not open a large mailbox to pick up a merchandise box ordered online. I went to USPS office and reported the issue to a clerk person who talked immediately to Mr. William and Mr. Zachary. This has been my post office for many years. It's always served me well. The parking lot is too small and the way you enter the parking lot snarls traffic on a very odd way. Lately, they have been closing the main blue drop boxes in the drive through which I am assuming is due to mail theft. They allow the local homeless population to hang out in the PO Box lobby after hours so it's basically unsafe to have a box anymore. Mail at my house has become hit or miss with mail and packages simply not showing and waiting for a "delivery scan" for days. It is what it is I guess. Two months ago I had a package that was necessary to obtain a signature to deliver. It was attempted delivery while at work, then I was told to come to this post office to pickup. When I came to this location I was told my package was handed off at the complex, and there was a signature that wasn't even my name on it! I filed a case and wasn't given any information to follow up the case or check in. Two months later and I've heard nothing. This post office is a joke. The mailboxes at our condos were broken into so I have to pick up my mail at this location, they haven't had mail for me in over a month. How is that even possible?? I would get mail every day and now I don't have a single piece for over a month?? I went on 3/18/23 and spoke to 2 people and was given 4 DIFFERENT excuses as to why I haven't gotten any mail. 1: The carrier sent everything back to the sender. 2: There was a recent change of address within my household and the carrier assumed everything needed to be forwarded (which wasn't done because I checked with this person and they haven't gotten anything) 3: They gave my mail to someone else! 4: We don't know what's going on. 3/18/23 was the last straw. I went to another location which is further away from where I live and opened a P.O. Box at a much nicer, friendlier location that actually seems to know what they're doing and the lines aren't 10 people deep. I filed a complaint on the USPS website and within a couple days got an email basically stating that the problem had been solved, I started getting emails from Informed Delivery that I had mail so I went today (3/25/23) to pickup mail, AGAIN NO MAIL. This has to be the worst post office in Colorado. You can expect all the usual problems with the post office, including an ancient building, lazy employees, long lines, slow delivery, an inability to answer their phones, refusal to use technology invented after 1950, mail carriers who appear to suffer from severe mental illness and so on... But on top of all that, these people couldn't effectively deliver packages if their lives depended on it. They absolutely CANNOT follow ANY special instructions, even if they are clearly printed on the package. I repeatedly contacted them by phone, email, through their website, through their 800 number and in person to inform them that I DID NOT want my packages delivered to the leasing office at our apartment complex (because the office staff steal packages from tenants). I even went the extra mile to get people shipping items to me to clearly print the words "DO NOT DELIVER TO LEASING OFFICE" directly on my packages in giant letters. Where did all my packages end up? The leasing office, of course. Assuming my packages EVER arrived at all! These people would mark packages as "delivered" on the tracking number, but nobody seemed to have any idea where those packages were. Maybe they were stolen by the leasing office? Maybe the letter carrier lost them? Maybe they disappeared in the massive bureaucracy of the post office? Nobody knows! Well guess what? One (of many missing packages) recently showed up... If you're reading this, I'm sorry if I got it wrong! He was super helpful and so nice about my situation. I didn't really know what I was doing when I was packing my package. I grabbed a box because it was big enough to hold my stuff and the other boxes seemed too small. After I got everything together and went to the front, he greeted me kindly and he did his thing and the price came out to 80ish dollars! He told me that it's the size of the box and he helped me see the different options of shipping and then he helped me find a smaller box which also had priority shipping. He's the best! read more

Worst post office ever. I've had 3 incidents with them in the past 6 months, including them rejecting the title to my car from the DMV which has caused a huge headache for me. I've also had issues with them delivering Amazon and Etsy packages. I've lived near them my whole life and they've also been subpar. All of our mail has been held at this post office for about the past 3 weeks due to construction in my neighborhood. It is a small office with very few employees, and my neighborhood has a ton of residents and, by extension, a lot of mail to handle. The post office is typical, nothing extraordinary, except Darren. He's amazing! I brought in some directories I needed to mail (150 to be exact). I tried using the kiosk, which I used last year, but there is a new program that would have taken me YEARS to complete. When I went to other post offices prior, the people literally laughed at me for thinking they would get close to this project. But either way, Bear Valley Freaking ROCKS! They have lines, of course. They're a Post Office. But, unlike other Post Offices, they actually have EMPLOYEES working those lines! As in *More Than ONE Employee* at their windows! So the line actually MOVES! And they're FRIENDLY! Whaaaat?? They have an automated postal machine, too, if you know what you're doing and want to skip the line. And... Here's the thing: IT WORKS! They also have Post Office Boxes and Supplies. I love a good post office. Daughter of a letter carrier, I have a strong appreciation for snail mail, priority mail, parcel post, book rate, etc. This post office has that super quaint vibe, while still being located just off somewhat-seedy Wadsworth. The clerks here were all efficient and friendly, and made sure that there was nothing liquid, fragile, perishable, flammable, or potentially hazardous in my package. My ONLY gripe is that they didn't have a stamp display. I'm a little OCD about buying a sheet of stamps every. Single. Time. I go to the post office. But I also get anxiety about making people in the line (and there will always be a line) behind me wait. No, I don't want flag stamps. God, no. And you can keep the ones with hearts on them to yourself, Postal Clerkman. Picking good stamps is a personal decision, so I don't even bother to buy them here. There's just not enough time to make an educated and informed stamp choice. I need to evaluate my options in line, so I can make a swift decision once I reach the front. After being at my house for 8+ years my carrier decided to report my house as vacant. There are 8 people living there and it definitely has that lived in look. Spoke to someone there Friday got my mail, then Saturday got a card in the mailbox again that said this is a vacant house and no mail will be delivered. I repeatedtly called them off two lines simultaneously and finally got someone to answer. Haven't received mail regularly for 2 weeks now. I wish I could give this post office a better rating. However my encounter with Sylvia' one of the counter representatives, has made that unrealistic. I had recently moved within my apartment complex and made a change of address. As is it tax season and I have been awaiting very important and sensitive mail. I placed my mail on hold. Every time I went into the post office most every other person helped me without doubt or question in a friendly manner. I had seen her numerous times when I stopped in. She never acknowledged people or greeted them. She always seemed very busy doing other things so I just dismissed it. I went in on 4/15/2019, this was the day she was the associate that would help me. It was very busy. She seemed very annoyed as she preceded to tell me I wasnt allowed to place my mail on hold for one piece of mail. Her tone and all around attitude was very off putting as she works with people on a daily basis. I cant imagine that I could be the only patron who was treated so poorly by this woman. I hope she takes into account the job she chose would help her uphold the highest standards for respect for the people she encounters day to day. I went back in later that week and took my mail off hold just because I didnt want to go in and be treated so poorly by her again. I was frustrated and wish this was not my local post office soley because of this one womans very poor attitude. I had a bad experience and can't recommend the Bear Valley station of the United States Postal Service. I paid $18 priority mail to send a box of Halloween candy for my nieces and nephew in Minnesota. I did this at the Bear Valley station on Oct. 24. It was expected to arrive Oct. 27. It's finally being delivered today. For over a week, I tried to track down the package with no success. Now I know why. My family got a note yesterday that they owed $18 for postage. I called the delivery supervisor at the Hopkins, Minnesota, station today to provide proof of purchase. He found the box - there was no postage and no delivery confirmation tracking number on it. He said he thought it probably had been sent bulk mail instead. I've written the Office of the Consumer Advocate at the USPS to register an official complaint and request a full refund. read more
