Even this is in the middle of the city, there is a large parking lot and easy access to this post office. I was helped very fast and it was a good experience.

Convenient This post office is right in city. As such, parking can be a little tricky sometimes. Be patient - you will find a parking spot. There are great people working here, and the building itself is easy on the eyes.

I arrive to an ice and snow packed dangerously slick parking lot. While most businesses have a clean parking lot after the snow three days ago, the USPS does not. The Self Service area outside has no machines and no explanation. (see my photo) The vending machine inside that sells the quantity of stamps I need is broken. There are NINE windows for service and ONE clerk. 12 People in line. (see my photo) When I get to the window to buy two rolls of stamps, the clerk only has one in his drawer. I admire our postal service moving a letter across the USA for a mere $.44. But the customer service at postal centers is nearly always abysmal.

I don't visit the post office often, but a new found love of swapping books wit family and friends has me shipping more often these days. This is a large location at Champa and 20th, very convenient for me after work. Lot's of street parking and even a lot. They offer a "do it yourself" machine if you prefer not working with the USPS representatives. I opted for the personal experience and waited in line for the counter. A longer line, arriving around 4pm during a weekday, this may be normal since this is the after work crowd. The woman helping me was efficient and friendly and helped me very quickly which I appreciated. As I ship more and more this will most likely be my go to Post Office location.

For a central downtown post office, this one is extremely understaffed. Always at least a 15 minute wait.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The passport line is a 2 hour wait. Each customer takes 30-40 minutes - ridiculous

This USPS facility is mainly a sorting center not open to the public, but you do need to go there…read moreto pick up packages if they required a signature and could not be delivered (or if the carrier didn't bother to ring your doorbell). The procedure is awful. First of all, there is absolutely no parking. There is an employee-only lot which is almost always full, even if you want to brave the "you will be towed" warnings. Street parking on Downing is rarely available and there is no parking on 16th Avenue. I often end up parking at the retail Post Office on Marion Street and then walk the two blocks to this location. In the past you then came to a locked door, rang a one-way intercom, gave your name (wondering if anyone had heard you), waited forever, and maybe then someone would appear with your package. Things are now much worse because the retail Post Office on Marion Street has been closed for months due to problems with that building. All of the people who have P.O. boxes at Marion Street must now come to this USPS Annex building to collect their mail. No retail services are offered here so the entire neighborhood has to go to the Post Offices at the Civic Center, downtown, or in North Cherry Creek for any other postal needs. The one concession made by the Postal Service is that regular window hours are now being kept. There is only one clerk on duty and there is always a line. Most of the P.O. box mail appears to have only been sorted into groups of boxes, so the clerk has to go through tray after tray looking for the mail for a specific box. This can take 10-15 minutes per person. If someone with a package delivery issue shows up, that can take 20-30 minutes or longer. There's a very small lobby in front of the service window that now has four broken-down chairs and room for three or four people to stand. I've waited as long as 40 minutes to pick up the mail from my box in this cramped area. The whole situation is absolutely miserable for both the people waiting and for the poor clerk. USPS management does not care. Do they even understand what a customer is?
