With my wife business we often spend a lot of time here, it's clean the people are friendly and there's not a lot of lines

For a central downtown post office, this one is extremely understaffed. Always at least a 15 minute wait.

I rarely (thankfully) experience customer service representatives that are truly miserable and downright mean and utterly unhelpful, but sadly yesterday was one of those rare times. The two women I had to deal with were absolutely the most ugly mean humans I've met in awhile. It actually brought me to tears. I have a complicated situation that I won't bore you with too many details, but basically I had two things I needed help with. 1 was picking up my mail that was being held, and I needed to complete a change of address form. I had the email confirmation number for the hold. The young woman behind the counter was abrupt, rude and frowning from the moment I stepped up to the counter. Her every move was slow, and her communication was utterly despondent. She went to the back to get my mail and came back empty handed. "Nothings there." Waiting for her to help troubleshoot why, she did nothing. I had to claw and pry to try to find out what may have happened. I again said I had a confirmation email and showed it to her and she literally said "That's for you, not for me." She literally said the confirmation number, that was issued by the USPS meant nothing to her. She simply would not help me. At all. So I'm standing there, totally confused, not knowing why my mail was not held and more importantly, where was it? No help. None. Then the supervisor with black long hair that came out was even worse. Angry, rude, utterly unhelpful and useless. I appealed to her humanity to please help me and she basically said "Don't know. Go check your mailbox." And she added "Oh, your regular mail person is on vacation. That's why." Excuse me, but that means your team messed up and you are not even flinching to correct the error. So USPS messes up, didn't hold my mail, I had a confirmation number that they said was useless, they wouldn't help find out what happened with our mail, and then to top it off, it turns out our mail wasn't held and the mail person just left the mail bundled in our box along with our new tenants mail and he informed us that the mail person left a note. (he just moved in to our condo and we were in the process of moving out. I told you it was a complicated scenario). I teared up from frustration, walked out, didn't get anything accomplished, and I sauntered away without getting their names or giving them hell. I should have tore into them but, what's the point? I felt helpless. I've worked in customer service all my adult life. There's just no reason, none, to treat people in this way. Both of those women absolutely need to be fired. read more

I haven't had such a horrible customer service experience in a long time. I can't believe people are allowed to work somewhere with face to face customer service when they are so rude and nasty. I'm a frequent seller on online re-selling sites/apps and have sold via USPS for almost a year. My shipping labels are prepaid and priority mail-I always bring what I'm shipping with my prepaid shipping label printed. At USPS in Boulder and every other one I've been to the staff has always been very kind and accommodating-I wait in line and ask, and they happily give me the FREE shipping label slips that you stick onto the FREE priority mail envelopes when you have a prepaid shipping label. It's a post office-sometimes there are lines I get it-but after waiting in line for something free the woman that helped me made it clear she was doing me a huge favor even talking to me. So nasty and rude. When I went up to her she said "First of all, no. You can't use the priority mail envelope. You have to go buy one of the ones we sell." I said I've done this dozens of times and yes I can use the free priority mail envelopes; that's what they're for...She refused. Then I said "um okay well can I have the shipping label slip that you stick onto the package?" She says "no. No. I'm not giving that to you. Absolutely not." I said "why? They are free...you can have them sent to your house for FREE" she said "um no. I'm not giving you that. You can buy an envelope then wait in line again and you can come see me," When I repeatedly asked her why she wouldn't give me the slips-workers at other post offices happily give them to me (it's less work for them bc I can just drop off my package at the pre-paid drop off!)-she kept barking at me "come and see me. You'll just have to come and see me after you purchase an envelope to get one." I almost asked to speak with the manager/supervisor but then realized it wasn't worth it bc it's LITERALLY A POST OFFICE. Why would a worker go out of their way to be rude?? It takes more energy to do that than to be polite. Looking back I have to laugh, why would she withhold a free item USPS provides?? Lol what? I was asking for what is essentially a piece of paper and plastic, not a Louis Vuitton Bag. Seems some of the workers like to be snarky/rude just because they're miserable at their jobs. I ended up buying an envelope and a different man helped me who was very nice. The customer behind me had this same woman help her and I saw she was equally as rude to the customer behind me and the customer ended up leaving clearly upset by her. I am going to go online and have the FREE envelopes and shipping slips sent in bulk to my house, which is a service USPS not only offers but encourages, because clearly there are people that work here that won't help you and are unbelievably rude. I guess it depends who helps you at this location because the man was very nice but the woman clearly is not capable of assisting customers. Everyone that she helped in front of and behind me either left without getting what they needed done or were visibly upset by her. I don't know what is going on but clearly there needs to be some serious customer service training required for the employees. Note I have worked in customer service for 5+ years and know how you should treat customers and am always very kind and polite to customer service workers because I know how rude customers can be. read more

I tried this place to find post cards but they do not sell those here.. Thr line was extremely long on a tuesday at 9am so i wound up not even bothering and instead went to walgreens. read more

I went to the Post Office at 20th & Champa Streets this morning to renew my passport. I had problems with scheduling through the Post Office website, but the gentleman in charge of the passport office could not have been more helpful. I have a package that is hung up between Denver and Sparks NV. The damned package keeps going back and forth between these two cities. I NEED this package and calling Denver and Sparks has NO effect. This is the kind of schitte you get when computers do all the heavy lifting. Frustration, maximized !!!!! read more

Prototypical government service. 20 plus people in line, two people working the counter. What could make it better? One of them go on break. Tried to send a package express. Stood in line for 30 minutes for the only person working to hand me a slip and say fill it out and get back in line. Seriously!?! This is a review for the passport office. I was literally the 2nd person in line before the ups woman decided to take her break which is fine but please give a warning on how long it will be. I did this during my lunch break and the security guard kept trying to help out a woman who not only came twice without her money to pay but she came back another time again and we all had to pause and wait once the ups woman came back from her break. If I could give zero stars, I would. The passport line is a 2 hour wait. Each customer takes 30-40 minutes - ridiculous

Quite possibly the best example of improper use of tax payer dollars. Everyone who works here is doing you a HUGE service to come to work and it shows in their attitude. There, frankly, is no service. They love to say no. There is no greeting and any questions outside of their normal script are met with hostility. This even extends to their passport service, which is now only one angry staffer for the entire city of Denver (they consolidated all the others here). Horrible location and was extremely slow. Made an appointment for a passport and was only one minute late to the appointment. The clerk working then told me I had missed my appointment and would have to stand in line behind all the other walk-ins. I then waited almost 3 hours and didn't even get my passport renewed. read more

The folks in this Post Office, like in many other post offices thru the USA, have no incentive to do anything fast. Yeah, the counter people are friendly but slow and understaffed. The Passport office place is terrible. I've come here to do my passport and my kids' passports and they are slowwwww. Easily a 2-hour long wait. So where do I start. Oh. I know. Billy the customer service rep. Billy is the kind of guy that makes you want to wait outside until he clocks out and smack the face off is head (although I won't) but that the type of smug, zero help, desert dry personality, negative rank customer service imbecile Billy is!! Look Billy. You had one job! To help me mail something. Im using the wrong envelopes, well tell me that before I leave my place in line to grab the ones you instructed me to, then when I bring them back and put what I'm sending in the "wrong envelope" you charge me for them. Then you make me buy a roll of packing tape when you have plenty on your counter staring me in the face just to attach a label that I printed out at home. Billy you effen suck. So I left the the envelopes I wasn't able to use that Billy charged me for and the tape there for anyone else that may have to encounter this D Bag today or in the near future. Hopefully my paying it forward in post office karma will result in billy getting pooped on by a sick bird as soon as he walks out of work today. Peace and love in the universe. Except for Billy. this post office is AMAZING for 2 reasons: it's open til 630 pm (EVEN ON SATURDAYS) and the staff is SUPER friendly and helpful. downside: there is ALWAYS a line and it is SLOW moving. it's located just off the ghetto and you're likely to be hounded by folks of the homeless variety while you're paying the meter to park. read more

I go here to this post office and I am not impressed. I visit once a week and not always treated nicely. This post office is usually rude and they always bother me about my dog and every week I have to say service dog and I have to point out his vest and id, as if they are blind. You will most likely have to wait but the people working here are the friendliest I have ever met at the post office. If you are doing something with your passport make sure to ask i there is a different line you should be waiting in. Avoid lunch time if possible! read more

I seriously don't know why this post office doesn't have 5 stars. I've been coming here for months now since we've moved to LoDo. Everyone here is always super friendly, nice and quick! Always the same smiling faces. I've never had an issue here. I always walk out with a smile. For a post office they're perfect in my eyes! read more

I am pretty happy with this post office and keep a box here despite now living miles away now. I do a fair amount of international shipping and they are very capable of doing it which is difficult to find sometimes. The parking is good and is fairly easy to get to from several directions. Post Office service will always be a little suspect but they workers here do their best and are friendly which is good enough. read more

Usually pretty good, sent a package overnight and was not refunded for my guaranteed delivery, because they had attempted it, but to me that's not delivered. Secondly, I've had a package in transit for 10 days, it was supposed to be delivered 8 days ago, and they would not refund me or could provide me with any other information where my package was, other than in transit. Just disappointing because I like the tellers in Denver, but goes to show that they have not taken the next step in customer service, because I'm obviously not happy paying almost $40.00 in shipping costs and either package was late or is lost in transit. read more

The worst staff ever even the postmaster needs training! I hold a PO Box at this place, and have been for quite some time. My box was blocked with no notification or email, I went to the counter to see what was going on, of course they don't know, but they know they tacked on a twenty dollar late fee, when clearly they couldn't explain how! one person said wave the fee the other person said don't! keep in mind these are supervisors and managers at this establishment Well they failed to let me pay my box and actually called the police on me....Police arrives with the same look I had on my face " What is the purpose here ppl" Here's the skinny COVID has scared the life out of ppl and they base everything on it! So i got a late fee due to covid, i couldn't pay my box due to covid! I literally had to come back days later just to sit in the lobby waiting on the MANAGER from 8:32 am until 12: 42 (he never came out) They actually thought it was funny ( the employees) They told me he left to another facility, So i guess he went out a back door maybe we'll it gets worst! I had to make an account just to leave a review. The numbers listed don't work for this address, they go to a fax machine, so don't try calling if you have a problem. They will lie to your face about a package that was meant to be held and is time sensitive. They'll go on and on about how great their workers are as they screw you over. Let USPS die. The staff of this post office is amazing, despite the handful of patrons who seem to think that racism is okay. If you are looking for a smooth process and limited wasted time when getting a passport, see the security guard, Mr. Simms. He goes above and beyond and genuinely wants to help you get what you need accomplished so you can get back to whatever it is you enjoy doing. read more

PASSPORT related - I'm currently in line waiting to have my passport processed. The average processing time per person is 15 minutes. I've been here an hour and the ONLY passport processing employee just "went on break." There are 11 people in line behind me. This is a pathetic system. Luckily, it so laughably bad that I can't bring myself to be mad. Program administrators should use this place as a case study in the worst possible way to build a process. read more

I'm sorry, but I don't know what Nick H. is talking about. I had a terrible experience with Bruce. He is in fact the worst. I called in today to set up an appointment after work to file for a no-fee passport and was told that this office operates off of walk-in appointments and they would be happy to serve me until 3:30. I rushed in after work and arrived at the office at 3:22. The passport office reaffirmed the hours - open until 3:30 - but the lights were off and no one was there. So I asked for service and it was Bruce who, yelling across the post office in front of other customers, that they in fact closed at 3:15. When I asked why they told me and had it posted that they were open until 3:30, he replied with connection and told me that "if I had really come in at 3:22 he might have been able to help me, but at this point there is nothing (he) can do about it". He then deferred me to a manager and met me in the passport office while we waited for her to arrive. While we waited, he spent upwards of ten minutes arguing with me - rather lecturing me that if I would walk into a retail outlet 5 minutes before they close, I would have been turned away and that I didn't appreciate the time (15-20 minutes) and work that he would have to put into my passport. By the time his supervisor showed up (3:38), Bruce could have helped me get through this process, but felt it was more appropriate to enforce his time scale. Likewise, his supervisor felt it necessary to continue to defer responsibility and tell me that I "should have known that they close 15 minutes before the posted time" All of my paperwork and photos were ready to go, and to make life easier, the post office didn't even have to send in my application since this is a special passport that requires UPS or FedEx shipping. All that Bruce had to do was seal my prepared materials in an envelope and certify that he witnessed me signing it. Good job Bruce, you have really enforced the negative stereotypes of postal workers. If you're looking for better service, go to another post office. This place sucks. read more

Most of the staff here is nice. However one woman, Trish, is just the meanest person I've ever come across. Not only was she terrible to me, I overheard her being rude to other patrons. I come here often and she always has a terrible disposition. One of my experiences was when the post office lost one of my international packages and I was just coming in to figure it out, not even mad. She acted like it was such a pain to assist me. Bruce is the BEST! I brought in over 250 packages that had to be individually done and he killed it. He worked extremely efficiently and somehow kept a good attitude the whole time. If anyone has ever deserved a promotion or some sort of recognition, it's Bruce. read more
