Consistently delays packages and usually avoiding phone calls, so the only way to get things resolved is to go in person. I have never had a good experience here. I bought something from Raleigh, literally 30 minutes away, with Priority Mail, and though it was set to be delivered the next day, they received it that next morning, and managed to avoid delivering it for three more days. Unbelievable stuff. I guess they just choose not to work on Saturdays. read more

I stopped by this location today to send a certified letter and wasted 30 minutes of my life that I can never get back. There was only one staff member working, and when he called for reinforcements, no one came for another 10 minutes. There were only three people ahead of me in line plus one person already at the counter. Slow as molasses! The one positive was that the staff were friendly and apologized for the wait. read more

This is by far one of my favorite USPS. First off, the parking lot is huge! There's enough space for everyone. I would suggest avoiding the lunch hours because it gets quite busy. Other than that, if you're just dropping a package off, it's quite a breeze. Happy shipping! read more

I had the most wonderful experience today with the mail person at the counter. He was super friendly and had no issue with the fact that I mistakenly put a couple boxes in the self-service bin. The experience was fast and enjoyable. I dropped off 5 large boxes and was out of there in under 5 minutes. Excellent customer service! read more

They never answer the phone! They tell you your package has been delivered but it has not been ! Totally glad I'll be leaving this area soon because it is just another Durham stereotype! read more

This is one of the few (or only?) USPS locations in Durham that has a self-service kiosk and large package dropbox, and that's the main reason I come here. The function of both, however, is usually questionable. The kiosk is regularly malfunctioning, and the dropbox fills up regularly, which then locks the box until an employee empties it, leading to an unplanned second (or third) trip to the post office. I have only used their non-robotic service once, and the lines were long and service was slow. Their hours can be inconvenient as well, so I'd recommend double checking before you make a visit. read more

The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The lines can get long, but when they have enough staff they try and open more windows to get through the line faster. Always pretty clean too! read more

I live in Durham, NC, not San Francisco. If I could give it less than 1 star I would. This location delivers my mail and I have had 8 packages lost in the last 6 months. Packages mainly from Amazon which said they were delivered and never were. I have written the Post Master General and spoken to the manager at this location to no avail. This is by far the worst USPS service I have ever gotten. Packages lost all the time. ZERO stars. Totally unreliable. read more

I know a trip to the post office is not the most exciting experience, but man, this branch manages to make drudgery just plain dreadful. First off, it closes at *2pm* -- as if trying to get to the post office before 5 weren't enough inconvenience already! Today was my first time getting there when it's actually open. The guy who fills out the slip before you go to the front directed me & my package to the automated shipping machine in the lobby. I trekked out there to find two gentlemen struggling with their own package at the machine. The line inside was short and moving swiftly, so I went back in and told him I'd prefer to take my chances with their staff. Who ended up chastising me for putting the address on the "wrong" part of the package (she insisted I had put it where the return address goes); let me tell you, it was not in the top left. It was towards the top and in the center (to avoid writing across a giant strip of packing tape, or on parts of the package that already had blobs of ink crossing out a previous address). After a moment of incredulity, I grabbed a pen and quickly scrawled in the return address in the actual upper-left so there would be no 'confusion' as to who the package was being sent to, as much as to demonstrate that there was plenty of space for a return address in the corner. The woman, while not wholly unpleasant, was clearly checked out and completely discourteous, every word spoken in a heaving sigh, as if having to deal with customers like me was just an all-too-common chore. Awarding two stars because, it's true, the line was short -- even during lunch hour. read more

If I could give less stars I would. I have never had a good experience here. The line moves at a crawl, the people are rude and unhelpful. Just yesterday I tried to mail three packages, and I was getting overwhelmed because the guy was giving me detailed instructions on the specific types of boxes and packing tape I needed to use. I had to go back in line, 15 minute wait each time, to ask them a question. They refused to come out to help me and, when I asked the proper way to tape it up, they replied "Uh, that's up to you, sir." I left so frustrated and angry that my hands were actually shaking and I needed to go home. It was just so absolutely ridiculous. 45 minutes spent in the store and I didn't even get to mail anything. The post office- zip code 27705- has stolen 2 birthday cards containing gift cards from me. Do not send gift cards by USPS. Birthday cards envelopes are very noticeable because of their size and color. USPS employees will then feel the envelope and can detect a gift card and steal them. read more

This post office is the worst! My business mail has not been picked up in a week. Only two deliveries in one week. So I finally take my mail to the post office to confront them. I can't say much about the post office itself since I've only had to go there once (although they closed at 4 and made me leave work early to get my package that they didn't deliver and wouldn't just put back on a truck for the next day). The real problem is that they regularly just don't deliver packages when they don't feel like it. So far, while staying home waiting for a package to arrive, I've gotten the following from USPS: Could not deliver, business was closed (We're not a business, we're a house, and I was here all day), and this weekend "Could not deliver, incorrect or insufficient address" (But somehow they managed to deliver it just fine later using the same address). On top of that, once our mail just stopped coming for a week. I played phone tag with the branch for a day or two, and then someone told me "Oh, we got a hold mail notification in your mailbox..was that not you?". Me: "Um no..do you not require any sort of proof? Can just anyone stop anyone's mail? (the answer is yes, anyone can stop your mail, anytime). This sort of stuff just drives me nuts on principle. We're all paying for this, and sometimes, paying extra for things like 2 day shipping. Just do your job and do it well. If you can't, or won't, go somewhere else. read more

I would give a lower rating, if I had the option to do so. Within one year, on two occasions, our postal delivery person from this location returned my packages back to the company for which I ordered them. The first one was a dress that I had ordered for my 50th birthday, needless to say, I did not get it on time for my birthday! The most recent event was that they delivered one of two packages of an order that I had placed and said the second part of the package was deliverable! The manager treated me as if I WAS the problem! Getting anyone to respond from the USPS to my complaint has not been fruitful! Also, this last one could cause me to lose customers for I sell homemade soap, and these were my supplies! read more

This place sucks. We average 60k a year in shipping via this office. Now, some or their lazy employees are updating delivery attempts by saying we were closed. Well, not once was a parcel tracking note left that they were here. After hours of arguing with this office they finally tell me that if a driver/carrier drives down your street, subsequently, that is a delivery attempt. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! for the last two days i had the front and rear doors open to prove that we were open. yet, usps updates the online system that we were closed at the very times we were open. We have ceased all partnership with USPS. I have been told that our biz alone keeps two people employed there. not anymore. read more

This is a post office in need of some serious upgrades. It looks dark and sad inside with dirty walls and tiles missing from the ceiling, and the lighting is only 1/3 as bright as most stores. They are also pretty disorganized, and have lost packages of mine that they called me to come pickup at the post office. I hope someone higher up in the USPS will take note of this and have some compassion on this dreary place to improve it with some paint, proper lighting and a bit better management. read more

This is a horrible office to deal with. I lived in durham years ago and this office was friendlier then.. I have recently had 3 parcels stolen where I live as the postal carrier has left the parcels at my door when I haven't been home. I have had notes on my door and postal box not to leave them at the door and they are still being left at the door. I had recently gone to the office as there is no phone number to call them. I spoke to a manager who had an attitude. I told him what had happened and he said he would address it with the carrier but it happened again. The staff at this location are very rude with severe attitudes. It seemed like I was bothering them by addressing my complaints and they brushed it off. I wouldn't trust any of them with my mail at this office. I wouldn't put it past any of them for wrong doing by their terrible attitudes. . I have also had mail missing and not coming to my postal box. Definitely wont be ordering much online anymore or at least not to my address. A real inconvenience and hassle! read more

The other reviewers are correct. This is the worst USPS branch I have EVER dealt with! They never deliver to my door (the address on the package). UPS and FedEx deliver to my door. But apparently this USPS can't manage that. They deliver to the property where the leasing office is located and I have to make my way over there and HOPE that I can get over there before they close. It doesn't do any good to speak with anyone at the post office. They say they'll look into it and call back. (Which they never do). The manager NEVER seems to be there. Once again -- today -- they delivered my packages to the leasing office on the other property and I had to go over and get it (and this was just 2 days after I'd called to complain about the last package that they didn't deliver to my door. What kind of post office refuses to deliver packages to the door of the street address on the package?? There are MANY other issues with this particular post office. I've already spoken with USPS main offices (Consumer Affairs Hotline) and have several case numbers in the works. I think if everyone living in their delivery area of this post office did the same thing, maybe they'll finally provide decent services! I'd have given zero stars it this form would have allowed. read more
