so today saturday at 4:55pm i was putting letters in the mail slot inside where the mailboxes were, the rest of the post office was closed. i had a lot of letters like 20+ and i started to notice after like 10 it started to get progressively harder to get them in. it was weird that i started and no effort needed and then by the end i have to literally shove my letters thru. i'm not saying that u have some lame employee screwing around with the slot or closing it since im coming in "late" but as i was walking away i heard a light snicker so ik also not NOT saying that unless it like automatically closes early or something? idk but... like is this for real? one of y'all's is back there tightening the slot as im using it? unbelieveable really but if thats really the kind of employee and person u are then karma is a ...... i dont like it here but i put up with it..and the immature workers doing weird shhh and overall vibe is not helpful or friendly read more

Went in to mail a few letters for my Snail Mail Art Club. The first thing I noticed was one of the Mail Drop box wasn't working. The clerk was friendly, showed me early stamp they had! I went with the SpongeBob stamps, 10/10 & the Keith Haring Stamps. It was $12 and some change per book of stamps. In the span of two weeks, I've come to this post office twice to mail out letters. I'm not from the area but work nearby so this was close-ish to my office. First time I came here I was a little thrown off by the limited amount of parking in the front but thankfully I saw that you can park next door. The first time I came, the line was long but to be expected since I came during the holiday season and in the afternoon. My mail carrier leaves mail on ledge of the mailbox, easy for someone to come by and take. They don't push the mail all the way in. It is not the most secure locking mailbox, it has a small rectangular opening and you could reach your hand in to pull out the mail. I needed to go to the post office and this was the closest one to where I was at the time. I saw the rating and still figured I'd give it a go. Worst case scenario, I would just go to a different post office. However, I had a great experience here. Very few people, parking was easy, and when I went inside; there was no line. Are you kidding me!!! That's incredible! I did go in the morning, so I don't know if that was a contributing factor. There were two women working and both were great; friendly and ready to assist! The Torrance Post Office on Monterey had only one person working. The line moved slowly. People from the back of the line came to the worker to ask questions. When I finally got my turn to mail my package, a man came from the end of the line to ask questions about a passport. The worker stopped to talk to him. I asked him to wait as I was trying to mail my package. She kept on helping him. It is important to take people in the order that they are in line. Another problem is that 5 bills that I mailed with checks in them were never delivered in the past few months. read more

The individual who served me was extremely rude and unfriendly to the maximum. He tried to make fill out the name of the sender and my three times, saying it was too confusing. This individual has been like this several times. I have all the respect and courtesy to the post office and the employees there because I do know what kind of job they have, and with the post office trying to get people to work. This person went out of his way to be rude to me and tried to make me write my address and the senders three times. Again, you can ask any of the people who deliver mail to my address how courteous and on occasion tell them to take care. With the amount of volume of mail that the post office has to move, I completely understand if I get my neighbors mail or if mine is sent somewhere else. This has happened less than I can count on one hand so you can see how upset I was when this individual was extremely rude to me. This was the worst experience I coulda had for the first time going to this place. I've never shipped anything out before I was very nervous but I thought they would help me out since it's their job. I go up to Clerk 20 which is a bald male with glasses and tan. He decided that I did everything wrong and told me to write out the label 3 times and still insisted I was wrong but I was doing everything he told me to. Eventually he gave up and said my package was "good enough". As I was finishing up the transaction I went over the instructions he gave me so that I could do this "correctly" next time but he told me " to not try again because I would get it wrong". If I could give zero stars I would. CLERK 20 was seriously the worst employee I have ever met. He was bald if that helps, he didn't have a name tag on so I can't tell you his name. Made a scene because I simply asked for help, it was the first time I had ever shipped a package out. Sent me out of the line and yelled at me. I've lived in North Torrance for over 40 years. I've never had an issue at the post office. The workers were always helpful and I've never had any major problem with getting my mail delivered. Sure we get an occasional piece of mail that is not ours, probably twice a year. I highly recommend email notifications of your mail to know what is coming and when. read more

I dropped off a package today at 9AM (30 minutes after they opened), it was an item I sold on eBay. It's now 6:35PM and the tracking has not updated. They had all day and they haven't scanned it in. Now I've got negative marks on my eBay seller account for not shipping a sale on time (even though I did) because these Federal Employees for some reason FAILED to do their job. Simply pointing a scanner at the label ONE TIME is too heavy of a workload for the Federal Government. I typically don't use usps, and definitely will only use private sector carriers ever again. Temporary mail forwarding doesn't work from 90504! I submitted a temporary forwarding order with ID IN PERSON and with clerk assistance for my post box. I'm out of the country and need to send to my alternate local residence so it doesn't pile up in my box. Amost a month, later, still no mail is forwarded. I send my neighbor to check the box stuffed with mail and with a notice to verify forwarding online with the code given or to come in and show my ID! I verify the code online. I Wait. After two more weeks I submit it again. Still no mail is being forwarded 6 weeks later! Next, I repeatedly try to call the 90504 post office. No one answers. This is a small post office providing service to the north Torrance area. They have two parking lots here, the small one just in front of the building, and the larger lot adjacent to the building that also parks the postal delivery vehicles. Inside, they have a customer service area, where you can buy stamps and send off letters and packages. If you are like me and sell stuff online, you can drop off your complete package to the small compartment at the south side of the office. You can also drop off small and medium-sized packages through a slot at the north end of the office. There is also a postal scale there, and where you can buy the appropriate postage for your package. The customer service is ok, and the waiting time is pretty standard for a postal office. This place used to be open 24 hours, but now has limited hours due to some guy stealing packages from here. read more

Surprisingly (NOT) my experience here is never good. The only consistent thing about this place is the lack of customer service. People here need to smile more, very unfriendly and unhappy looking batch of postal workers I've ever seen. Rude ass worker named Jaresh came off very arrogant. Prior to today, I wanted to get a rate quote on how much to send off a 4lb package to Australia and he was giving me the rates but had an attitude the whole time, he looked annoyed as I asked for the rates to be repeated he was just nonchalant and looked upset I even showed up to the counter. He quoted me $66 yesterday I told him I wanted the cheapest rate, today I paid $72 with tracking and insurance which he didn't mention before. After I paid, I politely asked if I could take a quick photo of the package with the label on it. He adamantly declined and sharply refused. I told him I needed it for a claim I was disputing with PayPal as proof. He insisted no they don't allow it. I asked why and he snapped back and said "Because we don't want you to!" Lol if it's your policy to not allow photography in your facility then explain yourself clearly don't be a d*ck about it. I wasn't going to take a picture of him. I will never come back to this location. I stopped going for a reason, went here again because it's more convenient and closest, but now I remember all the times they screwed up my shipments, delayed my packages, and how rude the workers are here--which reminds me of another incident with a rude younger female I believe no longer works there. read more

Amazon should NOT use USPS for North Torrance deliveries. Like, never ever. It's 6:30pm on a Saturday and I'm sitting here upset because I just KNOW our mailman isn't going to deliver a package that should be "Delivery Today by 8pm". I mean, it's Saturday. And Heaven forbid a USPS mailman has to actually deliver a package on a Saturday, amiright? Whenever I have to wait for Two-Day delivery on an Amazon Prime item, I'm noticeably scared that it will be shipped via USPS. Seriously. Whenever the item is shipped and I receive the notification, my fingers get sweaty as I'm wondering if I'll see an AMZL tracking number or a USPS tracking number when I click "Track" on the order. A few weeks ago, I stayed close to the front door all day - not wanting to miss a Two-Day package. And when the package status was updated that afternoon with "No Access", I opened the door and ran outside expecting the mailman to be there so I could personally give him a piece of my mind. When I didn't see anyone, I called the local office and gave them the tracking number. They told me that the package was "sitting here" and that my mailman had already left for the day and that she planned on delivering it the next day. O_O But they were kind enough to tell me that I could come pick it up anytime before 6pm, if I didn't want to wait a day or two more for her to deliver the package. *blank stare* I mean... I didn't realize it was up to the mailman on my route to decide whether or not they were going to deliver my package. What are we supposed to do? Bribe them? O_o So, if a package is shipped via USPS, there are a few things I have to worry about these days. I have to worry about whether my mailman will: a) mark a package "Delivered" that has, in fact, NOT been delivered and then actually deliver it two days later, b) mark a package "No Access", when clearly they can deliver snail letter mail and obviously have access - forcing me to call before closing just to inquire about WTF my package is and why it wasn't delivered, c) leave a package on the curb and mark it "Delivered" because they're running late and don't want to walk five steps to the front porch, d) not update the package status beyond "Out for Delivery", forcing Amazon to update the order status at 9pm with an obligatory "Delayed, but still on its way" message coupled with an outlandish possible delivery date range that isn't the day it was SUPPOSED to be delivered... you know, all because it's Saturday and the mailman on my route just doesn't feel like delivering a package that Saturday. I really wish Amazon's contract with USPS would expire. Actually, I just wish Amazon could exclude specific post offices within their contract based on the number of complaints they receive. This place is hit or miss...but is usually a miss. Always a crazy line with only one person working. Never see the post master(supervisor) step in a help out. God forbid you ever have an issue because no one is willing to help and IF they do it feels like they are doing you a favor and not their job. This post office is the worst. DON'T EXPECT TO GET ALL YOUR MAILS AND PACKAGES OR SHIP THEM OUT. For delivery: 1. My time-sensitive certified mail got delayed by 30 days, and it would never be delivered if I didn't go there to raise hell. 2. I lost a $400 package simply because their mailman left the package outside of my mailbox. "Because it doesn't fit." Hello, leave a note in the mail box like some other normal mailmen. 3. I lost more mails and packages since I moved here, bills, credit cards and serval online shopping orders. For shipping: Your shipping status is almost always wrong. Sometimes it remains wrong for days. If want to go question them, except at least an half hour wait---Because they need time to look for the information in the back, and most of the time came back to you with something you already knew. This is the best part---their mails or packages could DISAPPEAR INSIDE OF THE OFFCE! I lost two valuable packages at this office and their explanation was:" Someone could break in into our mail holding boxes." WTF? Who is responsible for that? I wonder if the USPS head quarter knew there is such a place here in Torrance. With some careless, brainless, nasty-attitude employees that do not take their job seriously. Again, don't trust them in anyway. Drive a couple mile to somewhere else or pay extra to deal with some real professionals. read more

The worst. Every time I'm here, the problem starts in the parking lot where people park outside of the lines and make it hard for others to park. All kinds of crazy people and rude people come here. I would avoid this experience. Then, you get to the end of a long line and there's one person at the counter. You hear a lot of horror stories about using USPS, but honestly my experience was almost perfect, despite it being a busy day *and* during the holidays (Dec 10th, 2018, around noon). The staff here were all courteous and expedient with their work, and not only shipped out my 10 packages really quickly (all prepaid labels), but they quickly restocked any Priority Mail boxes that were out of stock. While I was there I saw them move a ton of people through pretty quickly. Somebody came by while I was being helped and said the package dropoff was full, and they fixed it right away. The only downside was I couldn't use the self-service kiosk, not sure if it's just new and needs bug fixing but there was an error message saying that the package shipping function was broken, so at least it told me right away rather than wasting time. The staff were also nice to people in line. All in all, probably the best USPS experience I've had so far. read more

If I could give the customer service that I got here a 0 or negative star rating, I would. I went there to verify the address on a package tracking was correct..and as I was handing over my tracking number, the guy took it out of my hand cut me off mid-sentence, went to the back left me there for a couple minutes then came back and said that the package was being delivered today..( i had requested a hold on it the night b4 with a lady from the 800 usps number because when I called about it, she said the address didn't match mine at all. I asked him to verify that if it has the correct address as I had brought three proofs of address along with my ID and he said that it was correct and just kept on rushing me out without even looking at a computer. I had previously spoken with the 800 number the night before and they told me that they had the wrong address, and I spoke with them after I left the post office and again they said they had the wrong address on the package, however when I got home the package had been delivered to my place just fine. The way I was treated by the people at the post office in person was horrible..he was what appeared to be a Filipino man with the mustache about 5'9" and honestly they are the laziest bunch I have ever come across!
