I had a remarkable experience at this post office. I know i's a small town - and a very different…read moreexperience than NY. But still -- it was remarkable. I had to send a package to one of my children. I really can't remember the last time that I went to a post office to send a package. I always have my staff do it because it has been such an unpleasant experience in the past -- long lines, unfriendly clerks etc -- you know the drill. So I go in with an unwrapped unsealed unaddressed box of stuff. The man behind the counter was a sweetheart. I told him I hadn't sent a package in years- and he said "Really? Let me help you " He got some tape, helped me wrap the box and seal it securely, gave me the correct labels and a pen. AND the whole time he was helping me wrap the box- he was explaining all of my different mailing options. He helped me decide on the best options and got the whole thing of and done in 15 minutes. It was great - he was great - Now I'm thinking about sending some more packages - just so I can do it again :-)

Said no one else had come in. When asked her why no mail in our box all week and knew one was mailed over a week ago from Guntersville, she said they hadn't had anyone there all week to do the post office boxes! And We pay almost $200 a year for small box! The lines were slow of course and long when I finally got to next in line and when leaving. The 1 worker went to go through half the trays to get some of my mail. Said someone was supposed to come in today to do the boxes. Horrible service! I wish I had another option.

This service was simple enough to arrange on line, then I would stop by and pick up my mail. I did this numerous times over the years and this post office consistently handled everything great! I never had packages missing or damaged. I've used this post office to purchase stamps, postage, and ship packages many many times, and again, without any problems at all. It's an easy post office in terms of entry and exit, and it's always nice to stop in and pick up Steak Out at the nearby location.

Don't expect a "weigh your own" postage meter, or an in-office gift shop area like the post office on Wynn Drive, where you can purchase envelopes, greeting cards, flats of unique stamps, boxes, etc. This is a no-frills post office with counter service, indoor P.O. boxes, and at least one drop box outside. I generally drop off my items in the drop box. All my insider counter transactions have been seamless and friendly. There's never been much of a wait, maybe 1-2 people in front of me. Parking is a breeze because, again, it is never really busy at this location. Do pay attention to their hours. It looks like they close for lunch.
