I spoke to someone this morning to make sure mail is being held since out of town (have placed on hold once before but was delivered, mailbox was open and destroyed) and asked if they could check to make sure there was no mail, if there was to take back to post office. This post office had limited parking which were located in front for a couple of spots on the street and on the side of the building. There was a long line around 4:30pm but I was fine with waiting. They had the usual things for sale like boxes that you can buy to mail things out. Also, they sold stamps here but if you're like me, then you don't need to mail out things often; therefore, you would have no need for stamps. Standing here again 7 months later. Nowhere to park. 20 minute wait. Guy yelling at clerk over a passport appointment. Woman yelling at another clerk over not being able to mail something due to her mistake. Woman yelling at child. You should still avoid this place like a vampire avoids daylight. You may in fact burst into flames waiting in such a tense environment. But to be clear, avoid it more for the clientele than any of the clerks. They do they best they can with all these jerks. read more

I don't remember the exact moment that it happened, but there has been a curse put upon me by the postmaster general. Being within a 1 mile radius of a post office at any given time, triggers intense bursts of fatigue and forgetfulness in any government employee. This location, for reasons unknown, is especially susceptible to my powers. I work close to this location.. but no matter the time or day, if I enter the building there is surely an entire school bus of children and their grandmothers applying for their passport ahead of me. Behind them is a couple trying to mail an unwrapped rocking chair made of firearms and live rabbits for under $12.00. My cracking point happening in February 2013. The postage rate had gone up by 1 cent a few days prior, and I was clearly asking for trouble. I just handwritten addresses on 75 save the date magnets and was ready to mail them. The magnets are thin and lightweight, but I couldn't figure out if I needed the regular forever stamps or a different weight. The first lady I talked to said she thought that the forever stamps would be fine.You think? Isn't this like.. government regulated? Not a matter of opinion? Fine. I wrote all these out, I don't want my magnets to get returned.. so I'll play it safe and get the 66 cent stamps.. But crap! I have uttered the wrong word. She pulls out a sign that lists items that can not be mailed. There is a photo of an industrial strength magnet that could pull the space station from space. Apparently, I can't mail magnets OR my illegal drugs. Now, I'm even more frustrated... I KNOW I can mail magnets. My fridge is covered in other obnoxious save the date magnets that I don't want, but feel guilty tossing and those certainly were not hand-delivered. I also probably have 6 magnets from a real estate agent waiting in my mailbox as we speak.. I can mail this crappy magnets, so put your little sheet away. I show her one of the magnets and she puts her sign away. So 66 cent stamps, I need 75 please. But of course, as everyone in line behind me groans, they don't have the new 66 cent stamps. So my option is a forever stamp, a 10 cent stamp and 1 cent stamp all together. Seriously? Now she is moody. "The price just went up!" Well, it wasn't a surprise that it went up! How insane of me to think that you guys thought ahead and ordered the new stamps! So, while I couldn't give a rat's fart what the stamps looked like, I don't trust this lady at all and I don't want to put 3 stamps on the magnets if I don't have to. I left and did what I now do every single time: I went straight to the Barry Road post office. Guess what. At Barry Road, they weighed my magnet and actually confirmed that it would be 66 cents. Then they showed me 4 examples of 66 cent stamps that I could use. Even if I just need 1 single stamp, I don't got to the Armour Road location anymore. There was one older guy who works there that is nice to work with, but I don't take my chances anymore. read more

The workers are nice. The problem is that there's usually only two of them working at a time, with an endless supply of blue-haired women looking to ship nylon socks to their granddaughters. Parking is also a bit funky. There's limited street parking for those arriving from the east. There's also a small diagonal lot on the west side of the building, and overflow parking to the north of the building that can be accessed ONLY from the east, as it is a one-way alley. read more

Given my history with USPS reviews you could think I have a grudge against US Post Offices - not really. I have a grudge against terribly run businesses that don't even pretend to want to offer a good experience to customers. With few, if any exceptions (I leave open the possibility that in the dozen times I've been here, I haven't met that employee that knocks their customer service effort out of the ball park. What I have seen though are employees that don't offer any greeting beyond "next", and don't offer any thanks for coming beyond the same. Service is so slow I've watched and come to believe that there are no metrics for service, I'm surprised they haven't found a way to not show up at all. There's no obvious effort to move in a cadence that matches their customers, there's no effort to even offer a level of service beyond what one acknowledges they can't get anywhere else. And therein lays the problem. This post office, like most or every other one I've experienced knows or firmly believes that their jobs are secure and subsidized by the US Government. This post office is 1.5 minute drive away from my day job, I have to have my packages delivered there instead of my house cause they've delivered 10+ packages to the wrong address... while only being a quick drive down the street they can never manage to deliver my packages before 5pm when the package is out for deliver for sometimes 10+ hours. Sometimes packages due on Monday don't show up till the following Monday... read more

Worst post office ever. You HAVE to make an appointment online to get a passport and the ladies working were so rude about it. A nice young man walked in before me and went up to the counter, told this nasty employee he had a passport appointment at 10:30 and her response "oh no you most certainly do not! Not at this location! Our passport guy is on vacation until Monday." I get it, he's gone, but why did you need to be so blatantly rude to this nice man? She was so worthless and rude. Don't ever make an appointment at this place for a passport as they only apparently have one guy and even if the appointment is confirmed that doesn't mean a damn thing. read more

I never thought in my life that I would be reviewing a post office, as any normal person's assumption would be that as long as you got your mail, what kind of issue or concern could arise? All hail the North Kansas City post office for proving me wrong. This is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced. Two months ago I had a package say it was delivered, however, I never received it. After calling with concern, the supervisor explains that it was 'stolen' and that there was nothing they could do. Two weeks and a few dozen phone calls later, Postal Police explains that the carrier probably mis-delivered it - however, not before the supervisor said that if I filed a complaint that I would no longer receive my packages. After filing a complaint (despite the supervisor's - Darth Vader's - threat), all seemed right with the world for the next following weeks. Packages and mail were delivered without any problem. Flash forward to the last two weeks - packages are no longer being delivered, however a small notice is being left that we must pick up packages at the post office (opened from 8:30am-5pm - because obviously normal people don't work during the day). A few phone calls later, the supervisor (Darth Vader) explains that since a complaint was filed she will no longer have packages delivered to our home - just like she "warned." (Retaliation much?) Wait - a glimmer of hope! The supervisor explains that if we want packages delivered I must write a letter stating that we want packages delivered to our home (because that's not commonsense and expected of a delivery service?), but the post office will have no liability if they ever do not arrive. Wrong. Not going to happen. If a package is lost and there is insurance on the package, then the post office is most definitely liable. We live in a safe neighborhood. We have no dog or pets. We have a safe location for packages to be left. There is no reason why our mail cannot/will not be delivered. Needless to say another complaint has been filed. read more

The worst post office I've had the displeasure of having to use. Can not follow simple delivery instructions. The 2 whole people I've saw working there were very rude. I wish I could change what post office delivers my mail because I definitely would not choose this one. Edit- they are still not following delivery instructions and marking packages that have not been delivered as delivered.
