Anytime I ever need any package or anything from this post office, every clerk and worker is EXTREMELY rude. I just had someone scream at me that they were closed, even though they told me husband that they would give us the package (that they have been holding and refusing to deliver despite multiple redelivery requests submitted on my end). Every single worker over the last 3 years of me living at my current address has been awful every time. If you can, I'd go to another location. USPS, if you see this, this entire staff needs to have some customer service training. I would lose my job if I treated people like that. Disgusting. read more

incredibly rude employees. they were SO rude that I felt like I was on Candid Camera or something as there's no way they can be this rude. Sure, I had a box sent there for pickup, per instructions from our airbnb and they didn't like that...ok. fine, I get it. I had no idea that it would ruin their day. But it's like I ruined their whole year. Lecture after lecture with heat in their voice and anger in their eyes like I haven't seen - just because I had a box sent there to pick up since we are staying locally? I apologized that I had the wrong information and I felt lucky to have the 2 small boxes there. I called this office so many times to be sure it was ok. Nobody answered. I called several times after it was delivered, nobody answered. I got into town, waited until they opened and a slew of unkind words was spittled my direction as soon as I said who I was...though she didn't care since it was all about telling me off. Then another lady comes from the back to be sure to tell me off as well. It's like crazy upon crazy upon crazy mixed with frothy anger I haven't seen in years. Just blown away. Then another lady comes out and proceeds to be just as rude...and I'm like "how did this ruin your day". Well you were rude to the gal at the front. No, I was responding to her temper that was building quickly and asked her to stop telling me this stuff and if I could just have her look for the boxes. That's it. Finally yeah, after they slammed the doors after I called one of the gals 'weird'...I decided to join in and say a couple more not so nice words to the closed door. Yep, I said f and b. Oops. But I'd say I did really well taking in all of this pure evil spewed towards me from 3 women that obviously need medication, and lots of it. I'm sorry for how hard they work, I'm sorry they felt they had to give me the middle finger cuz I stood in their way of working so hard...apparently this was something that really stirred them up and as I realized that I responded in nice, but the anger just kept coming and kept spewing and kept rising...wtf? I'm a really nice guy and this was just a terrible way to start off our trip to town to visit the NWSS for a few days for work. Sure, now I know never to send a box to the post office again, though I did my due diligence on all counts. Just don't talk to people like this, whether you hate your life, your job, etc. or not. This was so unbelievable and I still can't believe the way they handled this visit today. I spend $30k a month at the post office to mail out a National magazine and deal with the nicest people in Washington DC. I've already contacted them to have this looked into. Something is very off here. I've had 1 package day it was delivered but it never showed up, now I have a more important package that says it is undeliverable. For what reason? I don't know. So bummed this is the closest post office to where I live currently. Most of these employees here move slower than molasses. This Saturday, there was one who must have had a small gas station coffee, as he seemed to move a little faster than everyone else. He was offering to get people's packages so they would not have to wait in the line, if that was all they needed. I had a package to mail, and had prepared it at home, including sealing and addressing the package.When I was next in line for one of the two women at the front counter, the package man allowed two women to get in front of me, and the five people behind me. These women had been standing off to the side, packaging their packages, and addressing them. He said "they were here first. " Are you kidding me? They waited until they arrived at the post office to put their items in a box and then to address their box with their own markers from home. I said "That is ridiculous. The rest of us packaged and put addresses on our packages at home, so we could save time." The package man said " well, this is what everyone at every post office does." I replied that it was not true, and from now on "I guess I will just wait to get my package ready until I arrive at the post office." The man behind me agreed, and stated that the customer service was terrible and he had never heard anything like this being allowed. The man handing out people's packages really needs a class on customer service. read more

These folks are pretty decent USPS workers...they actually smile and offer friendly suggestions for getting your mail deliveered faster...like print the zip code in a manner that can be read by a human being! I like it here and try to hit this PO whenever I can...you should too! read more

My mail has been constantly destroyed by my mail person. Daily. Shoved into my box, crumpled and ripped up. Today I came home to **another** torn check and destroyed birthday card. Apparently no one as US Postal Service cares to return my emails, phone calls, or formal complaints to the inspector general. What I don't understand is that if a non postal worker were destroying someone else's mail it would be considered a felony... but if the post office is the one doing it, it's fine?? I even included a picture of a day when there was only ONE envelope in my box and it was still bent up. Yes, I check my mail every day. Yes, I've had to ask for re-issued debit cards due to damage and have had several paychecks ripped in half. Not cool. But they're big enough to not care... right? read more

Had a very confusing, very frustrating mail situation here. I put a hold on my mail because I was in the process of moving, but hadn't yet set up mail at my new place because the person wasn't due to move out just yet. These people did indeed put a hold on my mail, but when it was time for me to claim it, it was ALL nowhere to be found!! These people lost and/or stole a month's worth of my mail! And since I'm an independent contractor who is paid per job and by check, I fell so behind on all my bills! Why isn't there another option to using these ripoffs? I absolutely hate this post office, I avoid it all costs and now. Yet another issue. I get a notice that my package is delivered. Great, good to know I go to my mailbox and inside is one tiny key with no tab to identify which locker my package as in, ok. I try them all and when I find the correct locker and open it, the only thing inside is the tab for the key. I tried 3x now to call the post office about this and it rings off the hook and then goes to a steady busy. Guess I just lost that package. Beyond irritated. read more

Got my mail delivered fine in my new apartment for about a month, then nothing at all for about a month. Called the office and found out that "no one wants to work" and so management has decided to place vacancy notes in all of our buildings' mailboxes and after you contact them telling them you need your mail, will still only deliver once or twice a week. Not paying your employees a livable wage and claiming that no one wants to work there is not my problem. Fix your management and do your job - you place mail in mailboxes, this isn't that difficult. read more

I never thought I would have a notable enough experience-- good or bad-- to review a post office, but here it is: this is the best post office I've ever been in. Now, is that really saying all that much? Considering the abysmal service and painfully slow lines make up a typical trip to the post office, probably not. Be that as it may, the competitive advantage that the Edgewater branch has is twofold: the employees are actually friendly and helpful, and the lines are never very long-- maybe because they always seem to be well staffed. Truly the most cheerful USPS workers I've ever encountered too. I had to buy a book of stamps yesterday and I was blown away when the guy pulled out a whole tub of them and asked me what design I preferred. I know this doesn't sound like a big deal but I buy stamps on a fairly regular basis and this is literally the first time anyone has ever asked me what kind of stamps I want. The usual process goes Me: "Hi how's it going, can I please have a book of stamps?" USPS: *grunts, avoids eye contact, slaps booklet of stamps onto counter* So, being acknowledged as a human being was a refreshing change of pace. It's the post office. Long ass line. Makes you feel like you're living in a drawn out version of the 1980s. One staff person at the counter, taking their sweet time to handle the 15 customers that await their turn. There isn't even a self-serve kiosk to help anyone get out of there a minute faster. When I went to try to get letters certified instead of her being calm and telling me that she wouldn't have time to do it she yelled not only at me but at her co worker too when he told her to help me and he would do her closing duties. This is not a gripe about the office itself but rather the carrier and managemental excuses. My new regular mail carrier does not attempt to deliver my certified mail. On three separate occasions he has just left a slip in my box without coming to the door. I called customer service to file a complaint. To their credit I received a call from someone in charge that same day. She agreed to speak with him but she made several excuses for his negligence. She asked if there were any obstructions to my mailbox, I said no. She then made the claim that he probably wanted to "just hurry up and finish the route" to which my reply was, that is no excuse. I explained to her that it is a short walk upstairs to my door. The mention of stairs was her bingo moment. She asked how many flights because they have a policy that they do not go beyond two flights of stairs. Since in my case it was only one flight the policy did not matter. Given the motto of the US Postal Service, could she really be serious? I quoted the motto to her, she said that they do work with the rain, sleet, and snow but people have different abilities. Snowshoe Thompson would be disappointed. **UPDATE** The post office sent my mail back to sender even though I followed the instructions of management. She assured me that the mail would be delivered the next day, May 18, 2019, she said that she was personally placing the item into the mail carrier's deliveries for the next day. The sender will not be able to receive a refund for this. I have filed another complaint on May 23, 2019 and am awaiting a response. read more

Has lost misdelivered my mail 3 times now, had important mail returned to sender in other states and couldn't give me a solid reason. Horrible customer service. This is, by far, the most pleasant post office I have ever been to! It is always empty, ALWAYS!! And the employees are always very helpful, kind, polite, and HAPPY! Yes, this is in fact a USPS location, and the employees seem so happy to be at work! Nobody is going postal in this place, it is like the disneyland of post offices. As with most post offices I've been to, this one is horrible, however it's the worst I've been to yet. The employees all have a horrible attitude, they're extremely unhelpful, and incredibly slow. I have to go to the post office almost every day to deliver packages for my business and it has gotten extremely unpleasant. There's one woman there that when she speaks I can't understand a word she's saying, which makes their lack of customer service even worse when she doesn't know what's going on nor can she speak to help me understand what's going on. They just don't care at all, most McDonald's employees have a better attitude than them. read more

If I could give a "zero" star rating I would. I'm so upset, I can't believe it. I went to this post office to mail 23 9x12 envelopes that were very light with 3 letters included. The clerk at the counter had a strong accent and I simply asked her to repeat what I didn't understand. I told her I needed to mail these the very cheapest way possible. She asked about insurance, I said no, please mail the cheapes way. No extra charges. She started ringing these up and I saw that the chareg was $4.39 per envelope. I protested at the cost and she very rudely told me that was the cheapest cost. To say the least, I was surprised. So today I went to a different facility to mail 5 more envelopes. Surprise, the cost was $1.80 per envelope. In review of the 2 receipts, she charged me for tracking. I have sent a complaint to the USPS, but my guess is I won't hear anything. This is crap. I, now will have to personally cover the difference in cost for the first 23. That woman has no business serving the public. It's people like her that gives the post office it's reputation. read more

Like most USPS locations, this one is pretty awful. My package was lost and they were of no assistance. The postwoman stated that I would have to call a number and open a case through them. I called the number and the representative stated that the post office should have given me paperwork that could be sent in. I had to wait over a week to have the paperwork mailed to me. They pass off any work they can to anyone besides themselves. read more

This USPS won't scan pre-paid postage items that are merely dropped off, so you must wait in line and get an "acceptance" receipt, otherwise tracking you pay for may not show up until package is delivered. read more
