John took the tracking number and called the carrier post office and found the package and asked them to pull it out of the truck so I could retrieve it. At one point the line disconnected and he waited for them to call back. My boyfriend who was visiting from New Jersey said that the post offices near him would have told him he was SOL and that was some of the best customer service he had ever seen. Went to mail a couple letters at the outside mailbox on Saturday afternoon. The box was jammed full right to the brim where letters were almost coming out the in slot. I've seen this happen before at the Lansing Post Office. While I consider this to be unforgivable for a Post Office, I guess it happens. So I went back Sunday afternoon and the mail box was STILL filled to the brim. You gotta be kidding me. As it states on the outside of that specific mailbox, it's supposed to be emptied TWICE on Saturdays. You could have reached in and grabbed other people's mail, if you felt so inclined. I've had many issues with this certain post office but this is beyond the pale. I don't care if somebody called in sick or whatever, the post master or a supervisor should realize the Christmas rush is upon us. This is unacceptable. The Ithaca Post Office has to do better.

They can't seem to understand the concept of leaving a package in or at a mailbox or at the door. They bring it back to the post office and make you come get it. What a sloppy, lazy employee. This happens quite a bit, so I've just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and called Marc Molinaro's office and spoke with a nice woman named Michelle about what the post office does on Sundays. Get your lives together, this is your job. Do it or quit and let someone else do it.

I adore the staff- who are so helpful and friendly. We have never had issues with our mail hold or delivery. I also kept a PO Box here for a year after our move with no problems. I rarely wait for more than a minute or two to be helped and there is lots of parking nearby in the city public parking, out front or on Linden. Absolutely a top notch operation.

It's certainly on the smaller side (and that's something to consider during a pandemic combined with this period of shipping things for the holidays), but my experiences here are almost never especially involved or complex. The staff here can range in terms of helpfulness or overall service-orientation... some of them are helpful, and others not so much (the latter of which I experienced when trying to get help from this location for renewing my passport). I do wish they had a self-service kiosk (for weighing and buying postage for your item) at this location. While I don't necessarily expect one would be the best idea during a pandemic (ensuring cleanliness after self-service can be fairly problematic), it'd be nice if this location had one for use once things revert a bit back to a normal state... they've just never had one.

It closes between 1pm - 2pm during the week and isn't open on the weekends. Open until 5:30 though which is pretty late for a post office. The few times I have been in here there isn't a line and if there are people, it doesn't take very long. The staff is super efficient and the woman is extremely friendly, you don't always get that from post offices so it's awesome. No parking lot but you can park in the front for a few minutes and there is a 15 minute parking sign. You can also park on the other side for a longer period of time.
