Update: We finally got the package. I tried to call the Post Office. That was a joke! No help given. Your employee stole our package. She's refusing to give it to us. Reviews say that service is crap. We watch for delivery and get an email when a package comes. It's not being delivered because she is keeping it from us. This is a Christmas present. I booked my passport appointment at this location. Online booking was easy and I was able to select a post office that offered pictures. You'll pay a small fee to use them at the passport agency and their clerk will help complete your paperwork, plus verify your signature. This post office offers a decent parking lot as well as a pull through for those not going in, but needing to drop off mail. I've never struggled to find a spot for a quick in and out. The passport office isn't obvious until you are at the door, which is locked and you'll knock on. I stood in line at the mailing line first and they directed me. No need to be there early. My appointment was at 10a, their first, and no one was in the office until 10a. Only one person at a time so you may need to wait outside until the current customer leaves. Friendly service at the passport desk. I'd printed and completed 90% of the application and the clerk did his part plus witnessed my signature. The picture taking was a major close up! Let's say I won't be sharing my passport photo LOL - if you can do your own within the dimensions and make it flattering then I recommend that! This isn't my usual post office, but I had a bunch of items to ship and was in town yesterday, so I stopped at this location. I didn't get her name, but there was a lady working who was so nice. I was really overwhelmed with a baby in my arms as well as a few packages and several loose documents that I needed to mail. This nice woman didn't rush me at all, she gave me the advice I needed on how to get everything in the best packaging and mailed out correctly. She was so helpful and never once made me feel bad for having a bunch of stuff to figure out or having a grabby baby in the way. I got tracking numbers, she gave me an estimated date on when my stuff would get to its destination, and I was out in less than 10 minutes. I might make this location my regular drop-off point. read more

USPS is probably my least favorite out of the American carriers. They are not the best with getting packages to you efficiently, and if you need to speak to customer service over the phone, you can just forget about that. However, I use a certain app to sell a lot of my old clothes on, and their prepaid labels are always through USPS. This office is the one I frequent the most since it is so close to my work and it's easy to run to on my lunch hour. I love their drop off and how they have a self service machine. I dislike how if the package is over 13 ounces, then you have to go to the counter...which almost always has a crazy line. I mean, I'm sure there's a reason why they do it, but it's so annoying when I have prepaid shipping on my packages and I have to wait forever just to hand it to a person. I will admit though that USPS is incredibly cheaper than UPS, so I will probably continue to use it on my own as well. I just wish they could fix some of their kinks. read more

Worst post office I've ever been to. Not talking about the front clerks, they are as helpful and nice as they can be. Whoever is in charge of actually getting mail delivered to P.O. I don't love the post office, but this location is definitely one of the best ones I've visited in Louisville. I stopped here to mail almost 100 items out, around the holidays mind you, and though I did have to wait in a long line (understandable) I was waited on quickly and by a very friendly staff. They formed different lines to handle different types of mail, which I really appreciated! Some items take longer than others, and handling the long line this way really helped it move a lot quicker! When I made it to the counter I had to purchase stamps for all of my items. The person who helped me was quick and friendly and helped me weigh my items and purchase as close to the correct amount of postage (without spending more than needed) as possible. He then allowed me to step to the side to post all of my items, while he assisted other customers, and then took them back from me when I finished, to ensure they would go out that day. I am only rating the Customer Service of the counter employees. This rating has nothing to do with the management, passport services or mail carriers. I come to this post office multiple times per week and have for the past year to mail packages. There are 4 regular employees who I encounter regularly. I am not able to get their names and I am not comfortable asking them so I will say it is 2 women and 2 men - all 4 are African American and all are under 35 in my estimation. I am only describing them in case management reads this they know who to give props to. All 4 of them are extremely courteous to all customers and always accommodating. I have seen customers irate over various issues that are not the fault of the counter person and each and every time the employees have been beyond gracious - I have witnessed this countless times. They are always keeping busy and are quick yet not pushy when handling shipment of packages. All 4 deserve a raise and I know all USPS locations are short staffed which causes frustration with customers and stress with employees. I commend the workers at this location for amazing customer service even when the line is out the door or a customer is irate (neither of which is the fault of the counter person)... read more

Visited the Middletown branch of the US Post Office to pick up a book of stamps. There were a ton of people there but no one in line for service! Apparently passport application is a booming business at this location. Praise the Lord I already have mine (whew). The staff at the counter were courteous and efficient. read more

This was my first visit to the Middletown post office other than driving through to drop mail in the box. I needed to renew my passport and they were listed on the site. I called the phone number listed on the website and it just gave a fast ring. I called back a few different times and never got through. I went back to the website to confirm that I was calling the right number and it was. I noticed that you can set up a passport appointment online. Setting the passport appointment online was a very easy process and I scheduled it within 24 hours. The first person that I encountered greeted me with a friendly smile and told me where to go. The lady that does the passports clearly hates her job, people, or life, or all of the above. She got the job done so it was a satisfactory experience. They have a section of packing and shipping supplies, a self service station, and they even sell gift cards! read more

The mail service is absolutely horrible. For no explanation my mail delivery stopped. Explanation there was a dot on the case said I moved. I turned in no change of address. Mail just returned to sender with explanation of a dot. No apology. Still trying to fix the mess as everything returned for over a month. Phone is often not answered. Mail is routinely mixed up. Today package delivered to other street. Thank goodness I received notification from E-Bay that it was delivered otherwise who knows what would have happened. So have recently moved to Middletown. I have not received my mail in two days. I called today and asked at 4pm when to expect my mail they said carrier was still out should be soon. Waited until 5pm called back was told carrier had overtime and would be delivering with in 30 to 45 minutes. so that would have made it 5:45 pm at the latest. Guess what? Its now 6:28 and STILL no mail. We just moved and our mail key has been lost so there is a note posted on the mailbox to please knock when they arrive so we can get out mail while we await our new key. I do not know how the USPS Middletown branch remains open for business! This is the second time in the past three months that the carrier has left a notice of undeliverable mail because I was not home and needed to sign for a letter. I haven't left my home in two months. I live in a condo, my mailbox is less than 5 feet from my front door. I often watch the carrier deliver our mail. I tried to arrange for redelivery but the "system" did not recognize the number I entered as a valid. The last time this happened I tried to call the branch but no one answered the phone. I finally drove 12 miles and went inside the facility. I was told the reason I could not request redelivery was that the carrier had not scanned the barcode on the slip he left and the reason no one answered the phone was that the online phone number is incorrect and has been for "as long as anyone working here can remember, but no one can get it fixed".So, once again the carrier hasn't done his job and I have to drive to the post office to get mail. The thing that upsets me the most is this is mail which is being forwarded because the recipient, my son, is deceased and on top of all the other things I have to deal with, I have to do the carrier's job. read more
