They do not respect appointments. I made 2 appointments for passport processing. 1. First one was cancelled because "Do not schedule passport appointments on a Monday". even though their system allows it. They put me all the way to hillside. They also let me know this maybe 30mins before hand. 2. Second one cancelled (although they got annoyed when I said that on the phone...). They put me at a different post office and at an even earlier time. So my only option was to leave work. I really didn't want to go through with this BS again. So I did to handle this. To be fair, THIS location isn't as terrible as the Sutter location. It's nicer, the employees are nicer in comparison to the Sutter Avenue location and the wait, though shorter, isn't usually shorter by much (these days). I have been using this location for maybe 3 years and the wait times used to be much shorter, 10-15 minutes or so, compared to 30-45 minutes nowadays. I think that's because there are also fewer staff. Back in the day, there used to be at least 3. Now there are usually only 2, and in some cases, just a single person behind the counter. I have to shout out that one South Asian clerk who helps me out; the little dude with the curly hair who talks soft. He always apologizes when the wait is long, and he's efficient and works as quickly as he can while still being accurate. I also miss Robin and Shannon; I really looked forward to going to this location in the hopes that I would get one of them. I have only ever had one baby incident with a clerk who gave me a little bit of an attitude because I wrote the "From" and "To" addresses on the box incorrectly and she asked me to rewrite it. I understood though: she was frustrated because she was the only one working that day (one of the clerks called out) and the line had been out the door for a good 30-40 minutes so I know she was stressed. To her credit, she taped over the box with a sheet of paper so I could have space to write, and she even lent me her marker because I didn't have one (since I didn't think I would need one). Overall, this location is okay. Had this been a review from 3 years ago, it would have been 4 or even 5 stars because of the short wait times and nice clerks. I started using this location because even though the Sutter Avenue location is closer to my house, it's right there by the projects, and the clerks in there are ghetto as hell and like another reviewer said, they act like you are bothering them for just doing their job. Crazy, right? Tell me I'm lying. I feel like this place is always busy nowadays. One reviewer correctly said try to go here when they are first opening up. I agree, and definitely don't try to do business here on your lunch break, unless your lunch break is two hours long. read more

They work super slow here. Had a passport appointment for 11:45am and I came in at 11:30am and they were seeing people who had 10:00am appointments. What is the point of an appointment if you're going to have to wait hours despite being early for your appointment. There should be a rule if you're more than 15 mins later for your appointment you have to make another appointment. read more

*Based on my experiences* First things first: If you can and you know you need to get to the Post Office that day, always try to go right when they first open. The clerks are generally in a better mood and so are you because there shouldn't be a huge line or wait. Second: There should be more than 2 clerks on at a time, but the clerks have been generally helpful and cordial each time I've come in contact with them. Even the cleaning guy is nice and says good morning. I do believe that they are moving at the most appropriate speed to better serve us and make sure we don't have to return twice or even three times. Lastly, this location will do if I have something easy to mail out and that can't just be deposited into the blue boxes on the corner. I've never used the passport services but I feel that if I did, I'd just go to the main branch in Jamaica. More for me to keep busy with over that way. read more

I rarely venture to this post office location due to lack of time. On my off-day I needed to send documents which were long overdue, yet unsure of the postage. The postal clerk courteously and cordially offered options of next day, priority or certified, which I have never been given options as I hoped no negative comments of my rose quartz colored, A10 Stardream envelope. This location is well equipped with air conditioning. There is a beautiful wall mural depicting Aqueduct Racetrack of a horse race with a airplane in the background signifying John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) specific to Ozone Park, Queens. This mural is imperative to this area's pride as Aqueduct Racetrack. During inclement weather airplanes always fly overhead this area as a standard route, ergo the airplane depicted in the background of the mural. Customer service is professional and courteous which encourages a return visit. A postal clerk occasionally calls out if any patrons are picking up packages. Impressively for a small branch of a moderate small community this post office offers passport application services-- by appointment only. P.O. Box rentals are abundant with no shortage separately from the window. Business hours of operation are within reasonable. U.S. Passport applications are processed here but be prepared for the long haul wait. read more

This is a great post office. They are very friendly and the mailman that deliveries my mail is AWESOME. He picks up my packages and he is friendly and helpful. When I lost a package due to international shipping, they explained the process and did everything possible to help me recover my package. It is nice to have a service provided by the government that does a great job and this particular post office is just that. read more

Highly disappointed! I made an online order from a store, and I tracked the package online. The day I thought it would be delivered, it never came; I checked the tracking and it said that it was ready for pickup at the store, even though nowhere in my order indicated that. I then scheduled a redelivery. The tracking then said it was on its way, however, it never came. I went to the post office 2 days in a row, and they said all you can do is wait and gave me a phone number to contact the post office. I went on vaca for 2 weeks, and when I came back, I still had no package! I called the office and she said she would give me a call back later that day and never did. It has been a week now and still have not received a call! This was inconsiderate and they should have just claimed they lost my package. read more

This review is not really for the people that works INSIDE the Ozone Park post office, nor the regular mailman/mailwoman, but rather, whoever does the package deliveries via USPS truck (it was a heavy package..), tsk tsk, SHAME ON YOU! I was expecting a package to be delivered today so I took off work to make sure I received it. I stayed at home all day, checking on the status of the package and it would constantly tells me its "Out for Delivery". Then comes around 7:30pm when I check the status, it said an attempt was made and notice was left @ 5:33pm which was a LIE! No attempt was EVER made nor there was there ANY notice left!!! Someone is apparently lazy and just didn't even bothered to do his/her work. No wonder USPS is going down. This crap will NEVER happen with UPS/FedEx. Ridiculous. read more

Went in because we had receive a letter in the mail that our passport application was missing certain stuff and they couldn't complete the process. We went in and showed them the letter. Due to the fact that we had all the other forms filled out, with the exception that the we had filled it out with blue ink and not black. The supervisor (believe her name was Tony), saw us and she said that we needed to fill it out in black and since no one else had showed up for their passport appointment she could process ours. UNLESS anyone with an appointment showed up!!! Excited and realizing no one else would've done that for us, we raced to fill it out!! We were done before anyone else showed and the long, black hair, SUPER quick, upbeat lady took us in on the third window. She was so quick and before you know it she had sent out ourapplication. We are so grateful at how quick and understanding they were. They weren't nasty what so ever!!! Reading the reviews, I think that anyone who comes in mad or with an odd attitude can't ask for anyone to be treated SUPER NICELY. I think that we were so nice and polite at how we presented the situation that they were glad to help us out. Honestly we couldn't have asked for a nicer outcome. Covid has nothing to do with this location. The workers (except the Spanish manager) seem like they hate being there. Any size package you have they will huff and puff with an attitude. You basically have to pay for next day unless your package will never get there. I send my brothers food packages from here and they complain that the boxes are heavy and don't want to lift the box. In fact on 12/1/2020 they all said, "Not me." When it was my turn and an older lady took me and complained about her arms hurting. Their attitudes sucks. It's never more than 2 tellers, so the lines are long. No matter what time of day you go. Good luck on your journey with this location. This is the second time I have an issue with a package! First package was delivered to the wrong address, had to contact the vendor and ended up paying twice for an item. Now I was waiting for a package called made a missing package report miraculously the date changed and now it changed again and now they said it was delivered!! This post office needs to get better employees. Some of them actually do their jobs while the others don't, they lose packages a lot and are disrespectful when you try to get help from them. I've had packages delivered to the wrong house, damaged, or it was just never delivered. Every time I try to get help they are rude and unhelpful. The worst post office I ever went to, I tried to purchase a money order for over $3,000 and the Spanish female worker had such an attitude she had yelled at the gentleman being served before me and then when it was my turn she completely flipped out about the paperwork involved in my request. She gave me the form that needed to be completed when I asked her why they needed my SS# and birth date she went ballistic on me and stated this is her job and don't ask her any questions if I want the money orders fill out the form because she doesn't have time for this, when I asked to speak to her manager she really went crazy saying the manager would not be in for another 2 hours. This lady was obviously dealing with some personal issues and brought it to work, she is unprofessional, ignorant and obviously not trained in communicating with the human race.
