The large post offices in Hilo have longer hours; the rural post offices that serve only a thousand people have reduced hours (for economic reasons) but short or no lines. I've had many issues with the mail lady refusing to deliver my packages and leaving the "sorry we've missed you" slip in my mail box even though I'm home 24/7. Pleas to redeliver have been ignored and I'm continually inconvenienced to have to travel to the post office to physically pick up my mail, often time sensitive business packages, which puts a strain on my day to day operations. It would be great if the mail lady could please deliver my packages professionally and correctly to my front door as instructed for I do not wish to inconvenience their work flow with official complaints to the post master and world rather us both be able to operate efficiently.
