Apparently their door (not the front door) is broken which has crippled them for doing any sort of business. The Wanamaker branch had a line snaking out the door and I had assumed this would be a good alternative. I'll add the University City Post Office to the heap of unpredictable and unreliable businesses I've attempted to use in Philly.

I get told I can only scan 5 of my packages (I had 9) and that I would have to go to the Kiosk. I said what do you mean I can only get 5 scanned and then she suddenly means that she can only scan 5 and that the rest have to be scanned at the kiosk. I say why are you guys so mad because they were beyond being rude. One of them gives me a face and calls me ugly LOL aw man. I will repeat it again - didn't know if I was in the streets or at a business. I honestly can't imagine how these type of people get hired, did they actually go through an interview process? Is the pool of people really that bad that these type of people get through. Anyways, I go over to the kiosk with my 4 packages and while I'm using it someone else comes in and the other girl (clerk 18 or something I asked for her name that's all I got she was sitting on the left side) helps that individual. The kiosk says that it's out of receipt paper so I go back over with my 4 packages and the original girl that scanned me in has a customer so I wait for the "ugly" girl and she just walks away continues on her phone and ignores me traaaaaaaaaash man trash trash trash. Someone else behind me walks up and now we are both waiting. When the first girl finishes I go over to her and she scans the rest of my 4 packages. And then instantly she comes come forward to the guy behind me lol.

The store was pretty busy both times and it is a smaller location, but the line moved quickly.

The angry lady mumbles a few things and displays a bunch of sheets of stamps. I don't care what's on the stamps. I say "oh great, do you have rolls?" She mumbles again and I just point to one style. "How many you want?", she says. I reply, "well, how many of them are on a sheet?". She raises her voice - "HOW MANY YOU WANT?". I think about repeating myself because I'm just trying to refill my drawer. I don't know how many bloody stamps I want". so I say "I don't know, how about 50?". She rolls her eyes at me. "You can get 40 for two sheets or 60 for 3 sheets". Fine, I say, lets do 60. Why did this have to be so difficult? I asked a simple bloody question. There's greeting cards if you really need them, shipping supplies for last-minute packing, and it's clean at this location. There are two entrances, one from the street, the other via the building lobby. This office isn't open weekends, but thankfully there are other USPS locations nearby. Haven't had any long waits here, and the staff have been nice to me. I don't have complicated needs, and I don't think I'm complicated to deal with, so your mileage may vary.

They'll take packages that are prepaid and metered. There's no receipts. The services are EXTREMELY LIMITED. The staff is not pleasant, which is somewhat understandable from their surroundings. If you need most services from the post office, you need to go to a branch, such as the location on Fairmount Avenue- a five minute drive. Parking is scarce at both locations.
