I have never experienced such unprofessional treatment as I did yesterday when trying to retrieve a package with lost postage. The staff spent more time trying to figure out how I was trying to cheat them than how they could help me. It's a real clown show in there. I will acknowledge that apologies were exchanged, and I did get my item, but this would never have happened if I hadn't lost my temper and had an actual shouting match with the counter staff. After which, apparently the people in line behind me let them know how much they sucked for the way I was treated. A stark reminder that we are not "customers" of the postal service. read more

This place is the second worst usps in the area (poulsbo has the #1 spot). Packages take forever tobe sorted, even if tracking says they are available for pickup. Anytime there is an issue, they are just kinda like 'welp, not my issue'. Like I pay A LOT of money for a po box. They dont care. Had an employee take a key to the postal lockers home one time holding a package hostage. Have had the postmaster just not care when all my mail is crunched in my box because they decided to shove a too large package in the box. they cannot keep employees, so it ia always chronically understaffed. sometimes, i get more ads for usps in my box than actual mail, which is a sham. Honestly, they were good for a time, but all has gone to hell and no one cares. read more

We signed up with Informed Delivery years ago. We know what mail to expect on a daily basis. In our newer Port Orchard location (McCormick Trails) at least once a week our mail does not get delivered as informed. We can only hope it comes the next day. We have had neighbors get our mail. Fortunately, we have good neighbors. We get delivery into kiosks, ALL WELL MARKED. I think the young man delivering wants to go home and to hell with finishing his job or doing it properly. read more

Staff are friendly but overrun, need more staff. When my mail arrives there it takes sometimes a few days for my mail to go from back of building pallet to my mailbox. So package tracking will show delivered yet will not be available for pickup until following week sometimes. read more

As a military brat and being in the military I've traveled all over the United States and the world. This is by far the worst post office I have ever seen. While the staff at this location seem nice, I have been astonished at how drastically shipping prices have inflated at USPS over the last couple of years. Today I paid $50 to ship a $40 doll to my niece for her birthday. It's hours later, and I am still in shock that it cost more to ship a gift than the cost of the actual gift itself. I realize that this is probably not something the Port Orchard post office directly influences, nonetheless, it certainly has our family considering other options for our shipping needs (i.e. shipping directly from store to recipient... for 1/5 the price). If you look at my history, I mostly write positive reviews for things, so this is saying something. I watched this gentleman walk up with three letters to mail, I overheard him saying it was his business to send out mail for people. There was some glitter on the card and other decorations. And the lady at the counter, brown hair/short, caucasian, started berating this man about. "You should know what's in this its your job. I can't mail it until you press the button. Look at all this crap on here there's no place to put the sticker.". This man looked dead inside. I can understand having a bad day, but don't berate your customers. read more

I understand there are procedures people should abide by when coming to the post office whether that's sending out packages, buying stamps, dropping off mail or picking up mail. Do yourself a favor and go to the next town on a Monday noon shift: the woman at the counter was extremely rude to my sister whom has an accent. I was even on the phone trying to give them the address and they claimed my address must be a "new address" which is not the case. I really didn't recognize that Port Orchard is bigger than I had though because this post office is soooooo busy. It's right up the street from a shopping center with a Dollar Tree in it. Anyway, I believe this location has an automated postal center inside. It's high velocity, just people in and out and in and out. It was hard for me to even get a picture without someone staring me down. Plus the guy that was parked next to me was having some car trouble and basically was doing a full service tear down of his vehicle in the parking stall next to me. That was kinda weird. Amen to the customer who made the comment, "Here's what we won't do for you". And add, "We're here to impede your progress, waste your time increasing your expense. Generally, to make getting business done more difficult than necessary. Because we can!" Wow! What the heck is going on with the main Port Orchard Post Office/ staff? It is the most unpleasant atmosphere. I dread having to go in there for any reason. I honestly feel as though I'm at a funeral service when I'm waiting in line. The staff appear miserable and are often rude, short, and even snotty to the customers. One doesn't dare say anything for worry that it may be perceived as a, 'threat', by one of the postal workers and/or fear of what will become of your mail. I made the mistake of reusing an express mail box that had originally been sent from Alaska to my fathers place in Port Orchard. It had been paid for and then some. So I thought why not reuse it in the spirit of less waste/saving the planet and all? It just makes good sense. When I brought it to the counter the lady asked if it was an express mail box to which I answered honestly, as per above, and she literally wouldn't accept it. Following the unusual snow fall limiting many services folks were told to go to pick up mail/packages. EVERY worker at the counter was snippy to every customer saying that they have been behind because of the weather. Spent wasted time and energy saying the same fussy comments to every customer even though they had hearing it while waiting in line for 15 mins. Please just do your job and stop being so defensive and combative. Riddle me this, I sent 3 packages at the same day and time to Japan, 2 where to the same address. One was delivered before 12/31/2019. Note they went via Taiwan. ???? One is still transit to the address. Seems to me Taiwan is quite a bit south of Japan. To make a long story short, that is not efficient. No wonder the USPS is going broke. Granted once they are received, they get mixed up. FYI IAW the Tracking they left the Post Office at the same time. The next item, I am awaiting for a package from AMAZON, it arrived at the local Post Office after mid night, out for Delivery by 8 am (note the post Office is 5 min away) Okay I know, they have other deliveries to make. It is now 8:11 PM it is promised by 9pm. Okay if it gets here. Point I am making is with, is the workers are so overworked, that they have a bad attitude, they just don't care anymore, IE they deliver to the wrong mail box or address. I know of one worker that was a substitute and he was a great guy, cared what he was doing, a permanent route was open for some time, but the power to be at local Post Office did not assign him that route. So he quit. I don't blame him. Every day he was tasked with a different route. Things like that being not Customer orientated, No wonder some of them are going Postal. I wish our local Congress Person, would look into that, and do something for the people, and get something done, rather than focus on Impeaching to the POTUS. read more

As a former USPS supervisor I am astonished by the unprofessionalism of certain employees at this station. I experienced customer service reps who are not problem-solvers with unpolished customer service skills. The employees were dishonest and delayed a priority express shipment. Attempted multiple deliveries and at this point I am convinced that my driver actually never attempts on Saturday's. I live at the Sidney apartments in Port Orchard Wa and again like many times before I get a notification that they attempted to deliver my package "Saturday's only" but couldnt due to unsafe place to leave. So I knew this would happen on this Saturday. I even went to the post office when they opened to intercept it but it was to late and already on the truck. I went home and left a note to deliver it onto my door step and to actually knock on my door with my phone number. I left this note on my mail box. Surprise surprise again got a notification that it was attempted. My door is literally a 5 second walk from the mailbox. C'mon really. 1 star is for the driver only as I feel like the office does a good job. I personally feel like the driver is too lazy to actually put forth the effort and automatically enters "attempted delivery". I have never received a note on my door EVER! Horrible driver. I have never seen such incompetent / lazy people as the post people from Port Orchard who deliver the mail. Have had many issues over the years and here's another one today. Waiting on package - I'm tracking it. Post man comes by, puts mail and another package in the box. I get a text saying the package I'm waiting on cannot be delivered and is being returned to sender. I call the PO main PO and a very nice guy looked into it. He said everything was correct on the package - (I get these every two weeks). Apparently the mail person did not want to come up to the house to drop-off the second package so they marked it as undeliverable and now I have to go into town to pick it up. These are the same idiots who have bent my packages in half four times that say - PHOTOGRAPHS DO NOT BEND. They ruined my daughters graduation pictures that way. Horrible service had a package that somewhere along the lines I had the address messed up. It made it all the way to Port Orchard , then I take time out of work to go pick up my package stand in there for an hour to be told my package is there but they can't find it,Lovely service. We received a Final Notice about a package that could not be delivered as it needed a signature. Notice stated they had tried twice to deliver and if not resolved they would return to sender. I tried the online form to inquire about a package and it said last up date was 24 days ago (???) I called the 800 listed online and got some weird company in NJ. I found the local number (yeah) and spoke with a nice young lady who checked to see if my package was still there. It was, so I asked if they could deliver it without a signature do to being High Risk for CORVID 19. She said they could do that. She would indicate that signature was waived over the phone and our package would be delivered to our box or our porch. Problem solved with one phone call. Well Done!! read more

Lines are always long and the attendants seem rushed in helping people. Came here to pick up mail on hold and they refused to give it to me because they were closing in 10 min...said to come back on Monday. Said the mail on hold goes with the carrier to be delivered, which makes no sense because there is no mailbox the mail can be delivered to. Mail guy contradicted what the others attendants said when I came earlier on the morning. Mario at the counter was something of an oddball, and said something borderline racist to me while I was trying to mail a box. First he told me that because I used a post office label he "had" to charge me for Priority Mail, and it would be $75 to send a 10 pound box to Chicago. I told him that was not what I wanted to do, and he rudely said, "Well, you're the one who used the wrong label." Then he pointed to two random, odd places on the box and said, write "To" here and "From" here and I'll see what I can do for you. I wrote the To/From exactly where he told me to, thinking it was odd placement but he seemed like a weirdo so I didn't want to rock the boat. When I gave the box back to him he yelled out to the roomful of people waiting in line, "Are you CHINESE? This is BACKWARDS!" Um, WHAT? I get that the Post Office offers job security, but does that mean USPS employees have the right to say stuff like that to people? Plus, I wrote the information exactly where he told me to. He acted like he was doing me a huge favor by giving me basic shipping options. I've heard the Tracyton post office is never busy. Went in there Friday November 30th for a money order to pay my rent. After taking my $1600.00 They couldn't print out a money order or give me a money back. So after spending my entire lunch break, over an hour, I walked out without my money or the money orders to pay my rent the next day. They told me it should go back into your account by the end of the day or by Monday. I didn't get my money back for an entire week until Saturday December 8th. A full week went by before they were able to give me the money orders I had bought. Will never go back there for any reason. read more

It's a dated piece of mail for the District Court and was mailed on time but through neglect, incompetence or just plan laziness it's now late. These guys went over and beyond for me. I had medicine for my horse that I absolutely needed on the day of scheduled delivery, but the delivery method caught me unawares: it was the UPS/USPS combo which I thought was strictly UPS, and totally my misunderstanding. I do not get USPS delivery at my street address, but after I called to try to flag the package and somehow get it held for pick-up, these guys delivered to my house! I did not ask for that, but how great is that? My horse got his dose that evening and I am so thankful for the local Port Orchard USPS. Saved a possible horse colic! Thank you guys! read more
