i called twice and no one picked up it just rang and then hung up which is upsetting. what's very upsetting is i called about 2 weeks ago and informed them someone that lived at my address is someone i now have a restraining order against and to not send their mail to my address. which they said it would be taken care of and send to their current one i gave. since then they have still be sending it to my house and i dont know what to do because the person cannot come to get their mail. it makes me feel unsafe knowing i told them my situation and they are still allowing this to happen. if they ever come to my house for mail and something happens it will be the post offices fault they failed to make sure this was taken care of. it's embarrassing to know i cant call and get ahold of someone and will have to go in person to beg them to change the situation. do better south hill post office read more

Incompetence is an understatement for the people at this post office. I had a package that was to arrive in time for Christmas - didn't know it was coming from China, and it never shipped until after the first of the year. We moved out of Puyallup while the package was making its way (finally) to the states, so I kept an eagle eye on the tracking number to make sure it would be forwarded to my new address (after all, I spent the $1.00 charge to initiate a change of address online and got confirmation that everything would be forwarded beginning on our move date). When it hit this Puyallup post office, instead of getting forward to me, I got an alert that it was "out for delivery" to my old address. I immediately called the post office to have it NOT left at the old address (though I'm sure the buyers of our old house would have appreciated my daughter's late Christmas present). The person I spoke to (Pam) was very nice, was able to get hold of the carrier to bring it back to the post office for forwarding. She wasn't sure why it didn't automatically get forwarded, but would make sure it got done. The next day I received an alert that it was "Undeliverable as Addressed" - duh! So I called again to MAKE SURE it was being forwarded to my new address. The guy I spoke with (I think his name was Brian) assured me that it would be forwarded, no problem. A short time later I received a notice that said "Forwarded". *whew!* I didn't have to worry. EXCEPT. Today I received a notice that said "Moved, Left no Address". WTH??? Not only did I leave a new address, but I've been on the phone for the past three days to MAKE SURE this package would be forwarded to me at my new address, where we've only been for a week-and-a-half. According to the very unhelpful person I just spoke with, they sent it back to China. Now I have ZERO confidence any future mailings or packages or whatnot will actually be forwarded, since apparently, when they supposedly 'tried' to forward it, my new address didn't 'pop up in the system'. Even though we've already received forwarded mail, including junk mail. So if you ever have to have dealings with this particular post office, don't waste your time. read more

This place is HORRIBLE! Customer service sucks. The Russian lady sees other people lining up at the door because two other people are waiting for packages and they don't even tell us that the pick up at the door is unavailable until 30 minutes in. The African lady with dreads sees me standing the when she was talking to the two ladies in the front of me and doesn't say that she isn't available after them! Ridiculous! Lines are always out the door. If I could give them 0 stars I would! Sad that it's the nearest post office to me! Mind you they NEVER DELIVER MY PACKAGE! I always have to pick it up! The staff at the South Hill, Puyallup Post Office are the most inconsiderate, rude, self-centered, and outright CRUEL people that I have ever come across in any business, public or private. How the heck do they keep their jobs??? Do they ever get evaluated??? They make it NO secret that they hate their jobs, and hate the customers even more. Disgusting . . . in this day and age, we need more compassion, patience, and caring about our neighbors than these "people" demonstrate (I have not only experienced their outright rudeness, but have witnessed so many incidents of abuse, and outright CRUELTY to other customers that I am constantly astounded). In truth, my Middle School students have better manners, and demonstrate much more MATURITY than these people. read more

Now I'm stuck telling the retailer although they have proof it was sent to my PO, it's magically disappeared. No help, no Fs given, just told they'd "look" for it. The first time I had an issue with my mail. The woman I spoke to was so kind and helpful. Today, however I was spoken down to, belittled and made to feel like my mail not coming was my fault. This was hands down one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. She put me on hold for 12 minutes to pull up her single web page for my tracking number. When I told her it was being held per customer request. She quickly felt the need to say " no that's not what it says, if you looked correctly is says held at post office at customer request." I told her it doesn't matter exactly what it says I did not request my mail be sent to the post office and asked her how we could rectify the issue. This woman LITERALLY sighed into the phone and out me on hold again! Long story short my package is coming tomorrow. 5 days later when I payed to get it in two days. I would never recommend that anybody come to or use this post office willingly. They need a serious staff change. read more

Awful service. Rang the bell three times for a pickup and no one came for about 15 minutes. When someone finally showed up they told me I would have to wait in line. Very rude guy too. Update (3/10/16) - had to come here again since this is where they keep my packages and I got the same rude and awful service. I received a call from this post office about my package being redirected to my current address of which I did have a change of address in order. I was told on july 8th that they had the package and it would be sent to my new address, I called them back july 22 because of yet no package. I got the excuse that covid 19 was holding things up. However today I called the main phone number about my parcel and it has been sent back to origin sender I. Australia.. I tried calling the Puyallup office today july 28th no answer. I'm totally disgusted with the handling of this matter especially when I called and told by this person that she had the package and it was being forwarded to my correct addres.I do have their name and will pursue further. I would give no stars if it was possible. I stood here today after mailing a package at the self serve kiosk to ask if they had any more priority boxes that weren't flat rate. I was ignored. I then waited for the people that had gotten there before me to be helped and asked again, to which one lady responded that she would check, to which I responded thank you so much, and the younger girl told her that I should have to wait in line to ask that question. I explained that I had gotten here before the people in line and there wasn't a line when I got there, only the one guy she was helping so I stood off to the side. I explained that she hadn't looked up since I was standing there since she was busy writing on a package, and even though the people in line backed me up and said I had been there first, the damage had already been done. She didn't apologize, she made me feel like the biggest piece of crap and like I was wasting her time. I run an online boutique and if I can avoid this post office, I will at all costs. read more

I have never had a problem getting mail of any sort until i moved to puyallup and had to deal with this post office. They consistently go days without giving me mail and then a week later slap a sticker thats says my driveway wasnt accessible. I DONT HAVE A DRIVEWAY. By far the worst post office I have had to deal with. I have had issues since moving to puyallup regarding packages delivered to my address. Have had a package start up lost before being sent out for delivery, never even offered an Apology, have had a package sent to a completely different address (and had the home owner contact me...) now I'm dealing with a package that states online it has been delivered but the mail lady said I have no package? This post office is the worst I've ever seen. The mail is late constantly and my paycheck takes seven days delivery from Seattle to Puyallup! Last time I had to ask the postal worker to check the truck and she found it in a junks bin! Who knows how many days it sat there! Cute lil hole-in-the-wall post office. NEVER as busy as the main Burien one - except, sometimes, between 2:30 and 3:30, when you MAY have to wait up to 15 - 20 minutes, usually b/c the staff is getting caught up with the latest happenings in their customers' lives. I once had a lady ahead of me slow me down 10 minutes, introducing the postal people to her best friend since 4th grade, who was up from Idaho. They'd gone to school together until Customer moved to Vashon; but had stayed in touch thru college. Best friend had about 100 CD's she was mailing to Wisconsin, where she was apparently headed to, but couldn't decide what kind of shipping she wanted, as she was staying a few days here before popping down to So. Cal. to visit relatives, so wouldn't actually be there to take delivery of them for at least 2 weeks. Etc. etc. I think they jnow every single customer that comes in! I love the staff here - Jo, the lady, is full-on sass and fun, but don't waste her time or she'll freeze you out. (But she's got a huge, happy heart, don't tell anyone) Steve, he's either always fab or not. Some days he looks seriously hung over, grizzled, stubbly, rumpled and grumpy. Other times, he's handing out stickers and good wishes. I love this lil neighborhood joint, and think they deserve our support. Any time I think they're slow, I just take myself over to the main Burien one after work, where I seethe for like 25-30 minutes behind ancient ladies paying their whole postage on large packages with the old 27-cent stamps, etc....Note: they don't open until 9:00, and are closed for lunch from 1:30 - 2:30. read more

I am very happy with the service I get when I call that Post Office but package delivery and the fact they took my neighborhood off the regular delivery schedule is very disappointing. We only get our mail delivered when they have time. It is very frustrating. read more

I think these workers do the best they can while being under staffed. When you stand in line, you have plenty of time to observe their attempt to treat each person like a person and not a number. I admire the calmness (not laziness or incompetence) that they display while trying to help the best they can. Them being understaffed is not the manager's fault, this isn't a privately owned company. It's our gov. that pays its high held officials a paycheck for life. Just think how nicely ran a post office could be if tax dollars went to the people's needs. I think all of them at this post office as well as the rest of us are doing the best we can under the circumstances. 1. The problem was that the package was mailed to the wrong address initially. That part was my fault. I missed one of the sites I needed to update an old address for. The item was shipped on 8/26. 2. A seemingly rare intelligent postal employee realized this upon the packages initial arrival at the wrong post office on 8/28, called me to obtain the correct address, and advised me it would be forwarded to that address. 3. The package was not sent to the address requested, instead it appears the post office attempted to deliver it to the initial, wrong, address again. 4. On 9/3 the item tracking indicated it had been forwarded... to another incorrect post office (not the one that it should have been forwarded to). This was likely the result of an old forwarding address the previous resident had provided. However, remember, THEY had called ME to get the correct address already. 5. When found this out I called the most recent post office it was sent to and tried to obtain the whereabouts of the package. That man (who had an Asian accent and works in the Burien, Washington post office, Zip Code 98168) didn't want to help me. This was at 11:30am on Monday, 9/8. He did everything he could to avoid looking my item up by the tracking number, even arguing with me that I should be calling another post office. When I insisted he search for my package by tracking number he told me it was not at his post office and had been send back to the previous one and, sarcastically, implied that I could find this out for myself using online tracking as that is what it is for. However, looking at the online tracking, at that very moment while we were on the phone, indicated that the package was still in Burien. He argued with me about this until I got fed up and asked for his name. He hung up on me. I called back and he picked up the phone and placed it immediately on hold. I called on a second line (which still on hold on the first) and he picked that up, hung it up, then picked up the line on hold and hung it up. The second number was called from a separate phone number, meaning this employee was picking up any ringing line at that time and immediately hanging up on them. This was, hands down, the worst customer service I have received in my entire lifetime. 6. At this point I called the Des Moines, Washington post office (Zip Code 98198) and related this story to the supervisor there, who was able to pull up the tracking on my package and tell me it was at the Burien sorting facility. I explained he should probably call the Burien post office and speak to a supervisor there (if he was not hung up on) and that I would be lodging a formal complaint and posting reviews everywhere I can regarding my experience with the Burien post office. I also filed a complaint via the USPS customer service site asking where my package was and if it could please be sent to the correct address or, at worst, held so I could come pick it up. 7. Later that day I received a call from the man who I am pretty certain had hung up on me. He explained that my package had been returned to the original shipper (which he obviously should have been able to see the last time I talked to him). At that point I really had nothing left to say to him. 8. I send in a formal complaint against the rude postal worker. 9. I receive a completely generic email reply due to my formal complaint via the customer service web site quoting a policy that said if an item cannot be delivered for 21 days it is retuned to the original shipper. Now, forgetting about all the time between then and now... today as I write this, it is 9/13. That's 17 days from the original shipment. 10. I receive a survey asking how well my first complaint was handled. I give them a horrible review. 11. I receive a survey asking how well my second complaint was handled when I haven't even received a reply to the second complaint at this point. I guess it's time to sit down and write a physical letter to the postmaster general and see where that goes. read more
