So yes, I get most of my mail most of the time. Usually. When we used to have a subscription to game informer it would mysteriously show up opened and clearly read about a month after the fact, if at all. I have one bill that has to be paid with a check. I've taken to driving to the place rather than mailing it, due to to them not always getting it there on time and costing me a late fee. I've also had packages lost and horrible customer service when attempting to find out who it was actually delivered to. P.s. I never did get the package. Now with the remodel their parking lot has only one exit. So, enter with caution. Also, after hours and on weekends they lock the package slot. That's right, you can pay for your postage, but you can't leave it there for them to mail. So, what's the point. If my family didn't live out in the middle of nowhere, where ups or fedex fears to tread, I'd never go here again. Hold means hold, anywhere......except here. The Renton post office is terrible. I put a vacation hold in place a week and a half previously. I assumed they would actually HOLD THE PACKAGE...especially when they sent me a text SAYING they have THE PACKAGE ON HOLD for me...but NO, it turns out they are delivering it....while its on HOLD, ON A FRIDAY....because it is their policy to DELIVER HOLDS FIRST..... The post office in Renton Washington is a JOKE! The never deliver packages to my address and this was PRIOR to COVID-19! Once when I went to my mailbox, a carrier was placing mail in the lock box's and he was cussing and using some of the worst profanity talking to himself. I recorded it was so disgusting I left and didn't pick up my mail while he was present. My mother moved in Sept . We put in a change of address form . Oct she was told a package came to her . I called and asked why wasn't it sent to the address on the Change of address form ? "Oh I see it no problem we'll ship it to you " a week later I go to the Renton post office and pick up the package . Nov mom go to dr she gets new prescription with her mail order company . I forgot to give them the Chang of address so it's shipped to Renton address . Said it was undeliverable ( not forwarded again ). I go in to pick up the pkg . I'm told it out for delivery . Then on the 14th tracking says my pkg was destroyed because it was undeliverable! WTH!! Destroyed not forwarded. !!!! Post office needs people that can read and understand postal forms and procedures ! This is not the last of my anger I'll contact the the postal attorney general ! Clean because it is still new. We get a package non- delivery notice and it gave the Williams Ave post office address. This was a Friday. We go down to that office and, lo and behold, they aren't opened on weekends! Waited until Monday morning excited to finally get our package. No. Another obstacle. It's not there. The clerk tells us "you should always go to the post office where your zip code is". Hm we thought that. But thinking we should follow the written instructions. We flipped the notice to the back, to the front, then to the back again. Ah, they assume we are illiterate. So back up to the hill to the Renton Highlands branch. We are wondering why, being the newest branch, but been around long enough, why they aren't able to have slips printed with their own address on it or the carrier could have crossed it out and write in the right one. read more

I have very little to say about the service here, which is why am giving it a three star "middle of the road" review. The hours posted on Yelp as of 5/18/16 were incorrect! So I arrived waaay after they'd already closed. Thanks Yelp! Waste of time & gas driving 20 minutes cuz I believed Yelp. So glad there's a post office sooooo close to my house! I have a private business where I have to ship out constantly and you can literally catch me here every other day. It's pretty big with a large variety of packaging stuff store. Customer service can definitely be better as they can kinda be pretty rude and not so helpful if you're new with shipping stuff. Trust me, my first time was frustrating and I felt nervous because apparently my package was too small and she wouldn't help me with options I could do.... ahhh!! Now that it has become a daily routine, I'm so thankful for the self service machine where I can print my own labels! Line can pretty long for both especially from opening to around 10:30am then again from about 2pm to closing. I usually do my thing on the machine after closing as doors stay open and it makes it so much easier! read more

This place is staffed by morons. They are truly idiots. They have now lost 2 packages that were in their possession for pickup. On 2 different occasions I got a notice on the door that they had a package that needed signature. I went to the PO with the USPS notice and they couldn't find the package. In both cases it was obvious from the packaging that the item was somewhat valuable It's interesting that they can deliver useless junk mail just fine but order something nice from an online retailer and it gets lost. Twice. Even better, someone mailed me a set of car and house keys via USPS. The package was opened while in the custody of USPS and when it arrived at my home the keys were mysteriously missing. How convenient of them to have the keys to both the house and card as well as the address where they could find both. It cost me a small fortune to re-key everything. not only were my keys stolen but they actually delivered what was very obviously an open and empty package. How dumb can you be??? read more

This post office is always orderly, the wait is exactly what you would expect to be waiting at a post office. Peak hours (3-closing) are not packed with people, really and the post people are curtious with my package requests. I regularly use the flare rate boxes and their size options are always readily stocked. The Dropbox is conveniently open all the time so if you print your label at home you can drop it off at your convenience. read more

I scheduled a passport appointment and got denied 5 times! Finally got ahold of the office at their local phone number to figure out why. If you are scheduling a passport, they said their passport person leaves at 10am even though their website claims they do them until 2:45pm--so be sure to schedule it before 10am at the Renton Highlands location! read more

Listen, absolutely no one wants to go to the post office. But since there is always that time you need to go, hit up Renton. The lines move relatively quickly and packaging material isn't in a place where you feel like you have to stand in line AND choose your items. There is also a generously sized parking lot. read more

Find it difficult to understand why anyone would intentionally take a UPS priority package that was to be delivered to us from Tenneesee. Tracked it to the Renton Highlands Post office however was told that none of the employees or driver had seen it. Have contacted the Seattle Postal Inspection Office to file a fraud mail theft with case number. Was assured that the facility and employees would be investigated. Not only upset and angry as we pay for and expect honest employees to deliver our mail. It is obvious from the tracking report that someone from our local post office helped themselves to our package before opening hours...how sad! Make sure all the last names on the PO Box are the same or registered with the post office, or this post office will return to sender. Even if you have a visitor for a short period of time, get them registered. They are a little over scrutinizing. But, they have no problem putting the wrong person's mail in your box!! read more

I went to the post office around 0700 on 11/27/17 to use their self-service machine. Unfortunately the machine didn't dispense my stamp. There was no error message on the machine. There's also no phone number to call if there's issues. So I rang the doorbell to the back where I can hear voices. I repeatedly rang the doorbell with no response. In fact, some man yelled stating that they're "closed". I understand that I was not there during normal business hours but this was extremely poor customer service. I understand they have a protocol to not open the door before business hours but to simply open the door to see what my issue is would've been extremely helpful and kind. I was able to call and speak to someone about my stamp and poor customer service issues. I did have to go back to the post office, stand in line, and get reimbursed with stamps. In the future, the protocol needs to have something in there about what to do prior to business hours. read more

Went through all the steps in the Renton Highlands lobby kiosk to mail a package to relatives in Wisconsin. Attached the postage and sent it. When it arrived, they were made to pay more postage before it would be given to them! I was told in order to research this, I'd have to bring the receipt and package in. Dah! Three different Certified Mailings from this Post Office and not one of the delivery confirmations received! These were court documents and return receipt is required. And, they were sent weeks apart. Looks like a pattern to me. When I complained about the certified mailings, do you think they offered me a refund? Or any follow-up? Nope. They don't care and it shows from their dispositions at the counter Then I often get tracking information showing my package has arrived at their station, been sorted, and is out for delivery. But, when the postman comes... no package! I think they're too lazy to walk the package to the door when it's late and/or cold. Not my problem I'd use another post office it was possible... but they're mine not matter what. Complaints make no difference and you can tell they're annoyed just to hear your complaint. Worst post office. I've lived in different states and never had any issues getting my mail delivered until I moved here. My mail sometimes arrives, my W2 never showed up, I always get the neighbors mail, they probably get mine and this week they lost a special gift that I purchased for my husbands birthday. They claim it was 'supposedly' delivered and placed in a parcel box. Yet I never got the key to the parcel box in my mailbox and now they tell me they don't know where the package is and must have been lost. I'm so upset. read more

I have called and complained approximately 5 times about my packages and mail being left in the rain.... and even received a note from my carrier that he will not leave my packages in the dry car port as requested. What is the point of a mail carrier if they don't care about your mail. Today I came home to a package of picture and a package of calendars I made for the grand parents of my son to find them water damaged. Two days in a row and no mail delivery on our street. Snow yesterday (Monday) understandable, but not today (Tuesday). Street was plowed this morning early. Also, sheets of ice at Highlands Post Office making customer visits extremely hazardous: no sanding, shoveling, or plowing. Dangerous negligence on part of this postal branch. When I brought this to the attention of a clerk, the clerk got very defensive and said she didn't like the way I looked at her when I was with all seriousness relating to her the conditions that needed attention.
