I laughed in his face and declined. He shrugged and said that then they couldn't take it. I departed. Found a box at home, and dropped it off at a UPS store in the city. At least they weren't as rude as the awful man in Shirley. I now understand why people will pay $5 a box in East Moriches to NOT go to Shirley. Hint: it's not the distance. It's that guy. Unpleasant. 0/10 do not recommend. There is a Kohl's RIGHT THERE, but it wasn't given as an option on Amazon. Ugh.
