There's usually only 1 person working the counter whenever I go there, even when the line is really long and they could probably benefit from adding another 1-2 employees. The postmaster here is the nicest guy doing his best with the crappiest USPS the federal bureaucracy gives him. The service is as good as one can hope from the one man show. He does it with a smile as fast as effectively as possible. They even have a gentleman cleaning up the environs. For the price, the USPS is still a bargain. Seriously. read more

The Ridgefield Post Office is HORRIBLE. I've had more then one issue with them. They once lost an order, and when I went in to investigate, they gave me 'ATTITUDE.' When this happened I threatened to report them to the main branch in Tetorboro, and the guy was actually astonished I knew where to report their behavior. Amazon was fantastic as usual and sent a replacement for no cost, and I actually received the package about 7 months later on a random day. Recently they lost another package the ADT battery for my alarm. Once again they didn't care, though this time I just called instead of going there, b/c there is NO point. ADT sent me another at no cost. Last summer, my mother suspended her mail for a month, and the new mail carrier told her she was going to bring it SLOWLY not all at once. (Well, that's ILLEGAL, bills are in the mail.) That also had to be reported. There are constantly new mail carriers, and they always deliver mail to the wrong address. I never even go in this location to buy stamps. I go to the Fairview location even though I don't live in Fairview, and I would NEVER recommend renewing a passport here. read more

This happened on Friday in nov 2017 but... Every time I go here, I notice that the workers seem to be trained to give people attitude. Even not just to me, the customer service worker behind the desk is rude to people who have questions about sending mail/package. Fill out wrong form due to the improper organization in the lobby? Attitude with sighs of contempt. Take more than 2 seconds to process what he says with a heavy accent? Eye rolling and more sighs. Is it a crime to not know what every form does in the lobby? I bought 2 money orders on 2 separate occasions. Mailed it out that the same date of purchase. The money orders were never cashed and just finding out the mails I sent out were never received. Now I'm late on 2 payments. So frustrating. read more

This post office is by far the worst post office I have ever dealt with. They often lose packages, hang up on you, and when you ask them to help locate packages which they lost, they will tell you to call back later. When you do call back later they will tell you to call back the next day lol Christina and Amanda please learn how to deal with customers and also practice answering calls...Lets see which individual is available later to provide some sort of help, or no help again.. This is our local post office. They lost the 90 Christmas cards my wife and I mailed out from here. We only found out cause of a family member inquiring about receiving our card. So needless to say my wife and I got on the phone with everyone we mailed cards too and asked if they got them. Of course the answer was no, which after about 5 calls wasn't a shock. So a few days before Christmas we reordered and re-mailed about 70 cards. This time we mailed them from a different PO. Later on we found out that some of the employee's were stealing people's Christmas cards hoping to score cash, a check or even a gift cards/certificates intended obviously for someone special. Eventually the culprits were busted and prosecuted, not before the damage was done. Nowadays if you have to go inside it's almost a ghost town. You'll see 1 maybe 2 employees in the back sorting mail, and 1 person at the register. One day I went in to purchase stamps and they didn't have them. It was almost comical in the response I got when I asked for them, like why would we have stamps?? How stupid of me to think a PO would have stamps!! We constantly get our neighbors mail and vice versa. Good thing we get along otherwise our bills might become trash lol! Can't control our receiving of mail, but we can sending mail out! I'll drive out of my way to mail something important, cause I have no faith that this post office will get it to where it's suppose to go. read more

I am not sure where they are hiring from, but in my 48 years of life, and in all the places I lived in the US, this is by far the worst post office I have ever experienced. I think they hire from the Wal-Mart parking lot. THEY ARE THE DREGS - who, in all honestly, could give a crap about you or your mail. I recommend calling the Postmaster directly with any issues: 201-447-2135. If you live in the area, I would recommend NOT using this post office, as best as you can. I have missing monthly magazine subscriptions, Netflix films that I mail there never arrive at Netflix, this past month my bank statements never showed up, and my mail carrier stays on the cell phone while placing mail in the boxes, and gets annoyed if anyone asks a question. Yesterday, a neighbor handed me a pile of my mail that was placed in her mailbox (third time it's happened). So that does that. GO ELECTRONIC with your bills, as much as you can and avoid this post office. If you cannot go electronic, then get a box at a UPS store - FAR MORE reliable ... OR use the Leonia Post office on Broad Avenue - better. Pity and a shame that US Postal Service has gone to the dogs. I wish I can give them negative stars. The Indian guy that works here is a total nut job. One day he's going off on one customer about how the employees in her job predominantly do not speak English. Another day he's yelling at someone for driving too fast in the parking lot when they were going barley 2 mph. Next day he's in my face saying I didn't ring the bell before entering through the back door when...I clearly did and ALWAYS do. If you own a business and want your mail before 4 PM everyday, open a business in a different town! My house gets it's mail around 10 am daily. my office, a few blocks away? You're lucky if the mail comes before we leave for the day! I called to see if something could be done about it (anything at this point) and the miserable guy on the phone wasn't willing to even talk to me about it. My mail carrier is great though. Don't expect to get any packages that need to go through this Post Office. I as well as 3 other individuals in my office never received our packages and they mysteriously disappear without a trace. Orders that were placed such as clothing, shoes, costumes, pills, etc., all seem to have vanished. Even when you give a tracking number they tell you it's the wrong number. This used to be a nice, friendly, reputable post office and it has gone to shit! We have had multiple issues with not receiving mail, packages not being delivered, and not even getting a notice in my mailbox that I had a package waiting at the post office. I had to check my tracking to see a note that my package was available to be picked up. We've had mail that we sent that never reached its destination (and some of it was being sent within the town!). This town has had a lot of problems with people stealing mail out of the free standing mail boxes, but I'm starting to think it's an inside job. Also, I live in the garden apartments and I think they use our residence for "training". We always have someone new, our mail sometimes doesn't come til 5:30 when we used to have our mail by 3:00. I'm so done with this post office. And I hate when UPS delivers my package to the post office to then be delivered. It gives me anxiety that I won't get my package. Then, when you go there to address your issue, they have the biggest ATTITUDE with you. I've resorted to going to the cliffside park post office to do all my mailing. My very valuable package was lost at this location. I sent it 2-day Priority with Signature Required. Jason, the person that was supposed to deliver the package never updated the status of the package and it has been out for delivery for over a month now with no updates on what happened. If no apartment number was shown in their system, it should have been sent back to me. I called the post office numerous times from TX to get some answers and the two people that really stood out were Randy and Christina. They genuinely tried to help me but essentially I was told that they had different contractors working during the holidays and they do not know where the package is. How is that acceptable?  Can't they talk to the contractors and hold someone accountable? Someone probably took the package and got away with it. I have never been able to reach the Station Manager. Lessons learned. Never send a $700 worth package with the post office because if it gets lost: Good luck. Next step and another month wasted on phone calls is on working on my claim for this lost package. read more
