One of the rare Fedex offices in the area for shipping and drop off packages…read more The store is nicely decorated, with sections clearly separated according to their functionalities. Few times I went there for drop off, I was in and out within a minute.

This is the second time in the past few weeks I've gone to this location and always vow never to…read morereturn. I must be a glutton for punishmen!! Theres a Blake Neff looking stooge working the counter who could give a rat's ass if the line is backed up to the toll booths on the GW Bridge. Last time there was someone shipping a music CD and Blake Neff must have shown this person about 37 different boxes and envelopes to ship it in. It's a goddamn CD-throw it in a bubble wrap envelope and move along. Mind yoo this person was already at the counter when I walked in. 25 minutes go by and I'm trying to not have a volcanic eruption but I couldn't contain myself, my blood was boiling standing there watching this display of nonsense with zero regard for who else is standing there waiting. I finally snapped and slammed my fist on the counter and asked WTF is going on here?!? Finally one of the managers says let me get someone to help you. So another employee comes up-takes my package-gets my info, prints a label, I pay and I'm on my way 90 seconds later. Blake Neff is still discussing the pros and cons of envelopes vs boxes. I leave and go to Starbucks, grab a coffee and am walking back to my car. Pass the front of FedEx and Blake Neff is still rambling on with the same customer! unbelievable how this guy still has a job. Pretty much the same story today but Blake was showing custimer different boxes/envelopes to ship a book in. You would think that they're shipping the Magna Carta or Declaration of Independence-nope! just a book! Fortunately there was another employee working the counter and he took care of 2 other customers and now it's my turn. I can tell that this othe employee was pissed off because for every customer Blake Neff takes care of this poor bastard has to take care of 25 people. Don't know who hired Blake Neff and thought it would be a good idea to put him on the counter but they need to re-think it. Don't quite think Blake is cut out for customer service oriented work that involves dealing with scores of people. Either that or whoever put him there must have done so as a goof to torment the public at large. You've been warned! If you have to visit FedEx you may want to bring a portable chair and a cooler with food and drinks and prepare to be there a while-a good long while. And don't forget your earbuds so you can listen to music. That is unless you want to listen to Blake Neff's doctoral dissertation on the pros and cons of boxes vs envelopes. Good Luck!!

Staples - Our bag of stuff

I couldn't believe there is a Staples located in Washington Heights. Well it is further out than…read morethe pedestrians in a quiet place than the main streets. It is actually underneath a parking lot. This Staples is very boring and not like the other locations with more stuff to buy. This one is more like copying and printing paper. Also there are many hills to cross to get to this Staple so it is definitely not a good location in the summer time.

I like Staples! Actually I have a strong predilection for office supplies, office products or…read morestationery items since childhood as it reminds me of school including my undergraduate college days. I have a lot of pens (some were gifts), standard copier paper, specialty paper, journals, notebooks and 3 ring binders. It is becoming harder and harder to physically shop at a traditional brick-and-mortar office supply store due to the rise of ecommerce as competitors of Amazon.com. I have a Staples loyalty card for over four decades as I have spent a lot of money with this corporation. In less than several months earlier and now I have returned to Staples again... I'm back! I entered this business the second week of September where within the New York City metropolitan area is the beginning of the academic school year for Back to School shopping. There was a short line at the register for a female teenager who purchased notebooks with her father which sorrowfully reminisce mirrored memories with my own beloved father who purchased notebooks for me in my high school years. My father valued and appreciated education including lifelong learning who used notebooks. This location is accessible via MTA NYC Transit A train at 181th Street between 184th and 185th Streets in Washington Heights, New York, NYC. This Staples location is gargantuan retail space. I briefly wondered through the aisles but was able to attain standard copier paper. Printer ink cartridge prices has risen to the eternal sky for four decades of purchasing the same manufacturer (different model numbers through the years), but I still have the need as the essential component of a printing device. Color printer ink cartridge high exorbitant cost is verifiable egregious than black ink, but it is also another desideratum of mine. Every time a cashier rings these items at the register I always shrill a loud cry of utter financial pain ubiquitously as I have absolutely no shame. Will you share with my suffering? Customer service at the register by a young female associate is very attentive as she exhibited compassion with genuine empathy and understanding for today's plaguing egregious cost of living expenses who "price match" on her handheld device enabling to reduce my two items' respective prices. I am very grateful for this Staples associate who is very helpful, but did not obtain her name. The price reduced further as I utilized my loyalty rewards points for redemption. Yes, loyalty card does have its privileges!!!

They also remove negative reviews on their Google business page as they see fit so do not be fooled by their high rating as I did. I left my review there recently and they've removed it! We decided to try this place out since it's very close to where we live and have good reviews. We sent in three expensive winter outerwears worth over $2,700 to be dry cleaned and was told that they would be ready the following Tuesday. On Tuesday afternoon when I went in to pick them up they were not ready. I had to make a second trip there again later in the day to pick them up. Then after I got home and took the outerwears out I was shocked to find numerous major damages to them. There are scratches, tears, tiny holes, stains and mysterious white spots. Some of the leather pieces on the outerwears are so damaged that they've lost their shape and color and look 10 years older! On top of that none of the stains I sent them in with have been cleaned. I called the cleaner right away with the situation. The same woman who worked at the counter told me that I will need to come in the following day between 9am to 1pm to show to the owner. The next day I called around 12 noon to make sure the owner was in and he was. However when I got there 15 minutes later he was gone! I had no choice but to show the damages to the same woman even though she couldn't make any decisions. She was very unprofessional and defensive through out our conversation. She had the audacity to tell me that the reason we were talking was so that I can vent! I ended the conversation and asked her to call Mike the owner to schedule a time so that I can actually see him! She called and coldly told me 1pm. So I had to make yet another trip there just so that I can see the owner and show him the damages again. Talking about customer service! At 1pm I went back in and showed Mike the damages. He did not admit to most of the damages nor apologize. He offered a refund but nothing for the damages. When I asked him what he does to take care of his customer in a situation like this he seemed annoyed and asked me what I wanted from him. Then he shoved out his wallet on the table and asked if I wanted $100 out of his wallet which was very disrespectful and condescending. For some reason when he said that I felt sorry for him and to be honest $100 would not do a thing for the damages and my wasted time. In the end instead of wasting even more time I took the high road and settled on just the refund. But there's more! Mike did not know how to work the credit card machine and I had to wait a long time for him to figure it out and process the refund. This is by far the worst experience I've had at any dry cleaners. Please do yourself a favor and stay away!
