One of the female workers here is beyond rude. If you go to this location, you likely know which one as she was not only rude to me but the people behind me as well. Absolutely terrible - Every. Single. Time. Every time (without exception) I go in there, I have either witnessed the employees fighting with a customer OR I have been on the receiving end of some kind of nasty comment, attitude, or poor example of customer service. Ok so I have had a few rough experiences here, but recently after getting the routine down have found their service fast and friendly. I have to agree with Julia W. Slow slow slow service and ATTITUDE. Heaven help you if you package anything wrong or have a basic question with a too-obvious answer--the people here will make sure you know it. I have rarely received friendliness here. (There have been the occasional times, however, hence two stars instead of one). Even the one man I thought was a little nicer than the other workers there recently tried to argue with me about getting the forever stamps, telling me that they weren't going to raise the rates any time soon and that I really didn't need them. Are you kidding me?! Can I just have my stamps??!! In general, the disdain and arrogance from the postal workers is so prevalent, I've developed a neurosis about going there and will do anything to avoid it. read more

I am so disgusted with the mail delivery in Kirkwood. We had a lot of snow so we had no mail delivery on January 11, 12, and 14. I have no idea why we didn't get any mail today. The streets are in good shape so there is no reason why we can't get our mail. I have called the post office on a number of occasions but nothing changes. For 1 week or two we had 2 mail carriers delivering our mail and it was great. I live in a condo and the mail carrier has to go up and down 7 steps for every 6 units. I guess they don't like this, but we need our mail. I keep wondering how much of my mail I never receive. Help!!! read more

Today I came into the Kirkwood post office to mail a light package and to send a return package that just needed a piece of tape on it to ship it back. The postal worker refused and was rude and said that I would have to buy a whole roll of tape. She refused to give me just a small piece of tape. If this had been Eppe, Tanya or Sharon this would have never happened. Eppe and Sharon have retired now and I always enjoyed going to the post office to see them and they went overboard to please their customers. To describe this lady today, she was black with long braided tresses. I hope I never have to deal with her again. I am very disappointed that the post office in friendly Kirkwood, that has gotten so greedy they even give you a piece of tape. read more

I only go here for one reason - to use the self service kiosks. Like Julia W mentioned, it is busy in peak times and can be slow. However, if you come prepared, you can leave quickly and easily. Come with your item packaged up and labeled. Use your credit or debit card on the kiosk to mail it. If it's too big to fit in the bin (which is pretty big - I've mailed big things there), drop it off at the counter. Viola! Done. You can buy stamps there too. I avoided the holiday wait by doing this. You can also get express and priority mail packaging there and label them to mail easily. read more

Wow! I just went to this location and I was belittled and put down by Tracy. She was rude from the moment she opened her mouth. Yes, I did not have something I needed and she made me feel like the worst person in the world for this. She was not willing to help or anything. I could not believe it when I read the reviews just now about her. I can't believe that there are so many negative reviews regarding her and nothing has changed. The other two workers, males, seemed nice but did nothing to control her. I was not the only disappointed customer to walk out of that building today that was upset because of Tracy. One other customer told me that I should read the reviews of the place. Unbelievable!! It is also amazing how she can say she can't do passports after 4:00 because her computer shuts down at 4:00. If you're looking for a painless shipping experience, passport, or helpful staff, DON'T go here. Staff is extremely unhelpful and Irritated. The wait is longer than other locations, and you won't find help or be able to have even a petty conversation with staff. I recently messed up a shipping label, asked for help and just ended up paying extra just so I could get the **** out of there. read more

I visited this Kirkwood location Tues. at 11:30 a.m. The tape was messed up in the dispensing machine. Three people were ahead of me. One clerk at the counter with her head in the computer. She was not helping any customers and would not look up at the group when we were gripping about getting help. I walked out. Not a good experience. read more

The Kirkwood Post Office Manager should be fired. This Post Office is TERRIBLE! My mail is consistently messed up. Items not delivered. When I do go up and explain my problem, the employees are always rude and do not care. We never seem to have the same postal delivery person. Always someone different. Lots of problems @ 1386 N. Berry. Getting other peoples' mail and when we put it back into the mailbox, we get it back again a day later! Happened 3 times with one piece of mail! The mail is coming after dark, which it NEVER did, when Brian was our mailman!!! Also, when we have a letter to mail and the mail has been delivered and picked up, the flag is still up and sometimes the door is left open. WHERE IS BRIAN KORTE?! read more

Went to self service kiosk to buy 70 stamps for my save the dates. Paid in full for 70 stamps. Received 30 stamps and a receipt explaining there was an error, I could not be credited for the $19.60 worth of stamps I did not receive and it could not print me the other 40 stamps. Receipt instructed me to take it to an associate. Take a number, wait... forever. Approach associate 1 who could not accurately interpret the statement on the receipt. She believed I was not charged (I was). Associate 2 could at least correctly read, but said, "you'll have to get a supervisor because that's above my pay grade". Associate 1 cannot reach a supervisor - can I wait? Um, No. I've been waiting, for like an hour... Take a copy of the receipt, my name, my number. I am later contacted by supervisor. He says I can come back and get my other 40 stamps. I drive back to the office and once I step foot inside, he calls and asks me if it can wait until Monday. FINE. Monday, I call him at the instructed time and number. He says he'll call me right back... 45 minutes later I receive a call. They've figured it out. He will show a clerk how to help me. Now all I have to do is go back, on a Monday, the day before taxes are due and wait in line AGAIN for them to fix their mistake. NEAT. Just go someone else, or even better, do everything you can online. This places blows and deserves no stars. The level of incompetency experienced by all who are employed here is mind boggling. read more

The delivery service has become atrocious. My mail used to come in the morning to early afternoon, but is now delivered after dark EVERY day! When I called and inquired as to the reason, I was told it was because of the holidays (Christmas). It started in October! Give me a break! read more

In this review I am only talking about this specific branch of the post office at this location. I find the staff behind the desk to be very nice, helpful and friendly. This is my preferred location to use because the staff is so nice. Yes, they get busy but you can tell they are doing their best. And I think they handle the fast times quite well - efficient and friendly. I do not hesitate to refer people to this location for their shipping needs. read more

I mailed a priority mail pkg 10/22 to be delivered to Broomfied, Co with delivery 10/24 I tracked it on 10/28 and it had been to 6 different cities in Illinois and was at the Hazelwood Sort Facility since 4:00 AM on 10/28. When I went to the post office, the lady suppervisor couldn't find any more info than I did. She said go to the delivery office in Kirkwood and they could call my mailman to see if he had it to return to me. There the man was rude and told he would do no such thing. I retracked it l0/29 at 3:30 PM and it was still at the Hazelwood facility. I call Kirkwood again and the suppervisor (a man) told me they may send it on to Co. when they process it, they may send it back to me or better yet wait 30 days and file an insurance claim. He was very rude as was the other gentleman. I took a chance on the mail service but never again -- it's back to UPS who are never rude and actually ship the packages to the right city. read more
