Oh, boy. I bet Post Offices don't get reviews except when somebody is unhappy, and as much as I'm a fan of the concept of the Post Office and supportive of the US Mail, this particular post office is not off to a good start with me. We had a serious problem with getting our mail delivered when we first arrived in town, and while the supervisory staff was attentive and polite, it did not get resolved until i'd had to visit at least three times. I'm not sure it was entirely resolved. If there's one thing, ONE THING, you want from your local post office, it's that they deliver your mail reliably. I do not have a big trust factor built up on that front as yet. And as far as preserving the business in the future, this and all POs have to develop a more positive customer service attitude at the counter. The clerks here are all polite, efficient, and professional, but they all seem to wear permanent sour expressions and address you like they're selling funeral services instead of stamps. The particular location is small, clean, and modern, has none of the charm of old style post offices but is at least not as depressing as some of the tired 1960s counter-based POs I've been in. That said, it's not inviting as a place to browse for shipping services; there are not a lot of work spaces or elbow room for managing your packages. There is a drive-through drop-off at this location (enter to the east on the one-way, and loop around to the exit) although it's worth noting the drop-off mailbox blocks other traffic, which is probably frustrating during peak times. I've been in towns, some of them fairly large, where the Post Office remained a sort of civic center and meeting place, and this isn't one of them. I've also seen a few, just a few, PO locations where they seem to emphasize customer service over the glum remnants of government bureaucracy. This also is not one of those. A very sad rating of mediocre/average from me. I can hope for better for this location and for the Postal Service as a whole. read more

I filed one complaint with USPS regarding this location for failing to deliver "BILLS" to our address.. Yes, Bills.. This has been going on for a few months on and off.. No one answers that phone.. one of the numbers listed is a FAX sound.. I'm about ready, once again, to drive down there and SCREAM at all of them.. I am NOT a fan of on line pay for bills.. but it seems to me USPS is forcing people in that direction. read more

This has to be one of the worst post offices i have found in the capital district, every time i go in there is almost a line out the door with customers waiting to be waited on. Some of the staff stall or walk away from the counter for extended periods of time so that they don't have to wait on customers which makes the line grow even longer, other times when i have gone one staff member goes on and on do you need any stamps and just keeps asking 500 questions when really i just want to pay and get out of there. the only positive for this post office was that they did install a self service kiosk to help yourself if you don't feel like waiting a 5 person long line. read more

We have lived in our home with dogs for over a year. We have packages delivered daily for work. Two weeks ago we had a new carrier start that decided without informing us they will no longer deliver packages because we own dogs. Dogs (who have never bitten anyone) are confined to an invisible fence which meets town ordinance in our back yard no where near where a postal worker would deliver. The postal carrier does not even get out to attempt delivery, marks package delivered and drives away. Dogs are now deliberately kept inside between 9-5 and they still wont deliver or attempt. When i went to the post office to try and clear this issue up the postal manager Hans "I dont have to give you my last name because im a federal employee" was rude, kurt, and sophomoric about the issue. This is a real problem costing my family and business income. If you have an issue good luck getting it resolved locally. I'm really put off by the experience I had at the post office today. I went in to get some christmas stamps and was informed that they were all out. In the rudest way possible, and pretty much dismissed like I was wasting his time. Thanks for offering me other stamps, oh wait you didn't. Next time i'll drive across the bridge and go to a different post office because I'd really rather not be treated like a waste of time when I'm trying to make sure you're job doesn't go out of business. read more

Lazy postal carrier just left 4 packages in front of our garage door, just 30 feet from front door. My wife backed over the packages with her car. What a mess and damaged merchandise. Filing claim with PO. Clear driveway and walkway (no snow or ice). Just plain lazy!!! read more

If I could, I would give it NO STARS!!!! This place is the worst with costumer service! Today I was trying to call to get days/ times that they process passports. I thought it might be faster then searching their web site The phone number listed sends you to a fax machine but only after it rings 20 times. There's always a line. Mostly because it's run by the government and they can't think themselves out of a wet paper bag if they had to. Just because it's exactly 10:00 am and they are scheduled for a break they will just walk away from their post!! It didn't matter that it was Christmas time and the line was out the door!! I heard the lady say " I'm going on break ". I was next in line and voiced my opinion that that was really not the best time given the existing line. She just glared and said " it's my break time ". Idiot drones. I agree with another poster that they are all lifeless and seem to have to go through their entire routine, even if you're just there for stamps. Once I ran out of packing tape and the lady refused to give me any! I only needed one more strip. I had to go to the store to buy more tape and then return to the PO. Outrageous. November & issue is still ongoing. Tried to call office- no one answers. Tried to file online complaint & get to end of form & message pops up there was an error & to try again later. Went to P.O. and supervisor had no answers...I tried to *find* my mail carrier per the supervisor and there was no truck to be found on the route, anywhere. read more

I avoid this post office like the plague due to the problems others have mentioned. I only go to use the self service kiosk which unfortunately all too often now has its own problems as I am sure no one checks to see if it is properly operating. I could not get it to work today for a package mailing. As I was having my problems someone came in to drop off a package that already had postage, but NO the clincher today- the receptacle to receive a package is locked down. Wow, I thought service could not get worse at this location, but I was wrong. read more
