It really doesn't beckon you to mail your packages there but seriously though it's a post office. Also the random stray dogs that are roaming around also don't put one's fears at bay. So you spend a moment debating actually exiting your car and risk getting molested by a dog bearing it's teeth OR mailing your student loan payment that is already 5 days late. You win dogs......you win. P.S. I was able to mail it down the road in Sekiu anyway so.....we will meet again Clallam Bay. I'll bring the brass knuckles and Vaseline.

Places like the Beaver Post Office are one of the major benefits to tiny town life. The staff are VERY friendly and helpful. One of my 13yr olds chores is to go get the mail since its a 3 min bike ride from our house. Well... I forgot to pay the yearly 60$ because it was due right around Christmas and we were out of town for Christmas vacation. So when we got back I didn't remember we owed on it and my sons birthday was almost here so he runs down to get the mail completely excited about the cards he was sure to find in our PO BOX. Poor kid gets there to find out they are holding our mail due to non payment. The employee noticed his look of disappointment because I wasn't home at the time to pay it and she asked him what was going on. He told her its his birthday and he was expecting cards. She then digs through our mail and pulled out all his birthday cards. I thought that was incredibly sweet because she didn't have to do that. I wouldn't have been home in time to go pay it before they closed so she kinda saved his birthday!

Their delivery drivers lie and refuse to deliver packages claiming it is blocked or undeliverable…read morewhen they had delivered packages a few days before and had been for months without issue. Its a flat driveway, no mud, packed gravel darn near paved. It even has plenty of room to turn around. They will also lie to you when you go to file a complaint saying that there is no form in existence to lodge a complaint this is not true, do not fall for their lies. If you've never been in/on/or around a native reservation, take a trip to Neah Bay. Check out the Cape Flattery Lighthouse nearby or just take in the town. It has a different feel....and you'll get what I'm saying if you go. Anyway, this post office is next to what seems to be the only store in the town. The store was busy but the post office....not so much. It was closed when I went but there are post offices boxes but no automated postal center for after hours mailing, but that is to be expected.

The post office is very small as La Push is very small so don't expect something large like a Seattle post office or somewhere else. On a side note, La Push has really awesome shorelines. The waves crash into the rocky jettys with such a force that anyone out there would get swept away. The wind howls off the sea beckoning your closer and the wisps away your hat or tosses your hair from it's hair tie and whispers for your to let go and be free. Ok maybe that's a small exaggeration but the post office is well kept like the entrance to the city. The look of things trails off a bit as you get deeper in but I'd come back just to see the water and mail some postcards.

This post office is a nightmare. All the employees who work the counter have developed, to an art,…read morenot looking at, noticing or acknowledging the customer. Who to remind them, provide them their salary. The person on the far left of the counter is always fiddling around at her station, again, not even looking up, while a long line forms for service. All of them will chat and joke with certain customers while people are waiting patiently in line, as if it is a tea house and social hour. They are never prepared when the doors open in the morning; and most times you are lucky if 1 person is working the counter. I have often walked in to see a customer at the counter and no employee to be seen, while 10 people wait in line. I have seen, nearly every time I have gone in, employees walk by, through and even hang out, while numerous people wait in line and don't lift a finger to provide any service. The Postmaster here is clearly incompetent. That the community puts up with this is astonishing. Unfortunately most people are afraid to speak up. But, you can see the frustration and anger in their faces as their day wastes away, while growing roots in the line for service. All these employees should be summarily fired and the Postmaster for this office immediately be replaced. If you think I'm not being fair, you haven't been inside this catastrophe. This post office is an utter embarrassment to common decency, public service and a work ethic. Minus 20 stars~

Recommend avoiding this branch in favor of the one in Oak Bay. We came early, gave no special instructions, and offered to answer any questions or use any service needed. Told both were fine and would arrive early. One card was even returned to us for unclear reasons and we then had to pay a $30 express fee to try and get it there within the time remaining. Leaving two stars out of consideration that it was a unique mistake, but won't be using them again.
