I had a packaged delivered that was 6 inches too long to fit in my mailbox. I live on Hamilton St which is a very busy road. the mail carrier stuck it in my mailbox hanging out with the door open. Any truck could've hit it. People are too lazy to walk it to the porch where it would be safe. read more

I had to get an Important letter to Trenton NJ MVA, Cause now when you go to get your license renewed, Your state has to see if you have any other tickets or summons in any other state! If you do, you have less than 30days to straighten your matter out! Or license is Suspended! Priority mail, got it there in less than three days for $11 when the post office was closed! We were traveling for an extended period of time, I went to the Franklin post office and asked the associate what steps we should take to forward our mail. I followed all the steps. So, far we received wet mail in a postal envelope, we did receive mail from a month ago, and one of our medical providers called and asked if we had moved, I said no the mail has a temporary forward. the medical provider told me the bill said return to sender. So I guess all our mail is being returned, I did try to call no answer. I have no words, we have had 2 other previous issues with this postal location, I do not understand. I have spoken to the Post Master at this location previously, and it was useless. read more

This is my local post office, and I really feel lucky to have it so close by. I know people who come from other towns, just to use this post office, because it really is a cut above your typical post office. First, the staff is extremely experienced, friendly, and efficient. I've been coming here 20 years, and it's pretty much been the same staff the whole time. They have a whole system to keep the line moving, and work really well as a team. People who are just picking up packages go to a separate line, so they do not have to stand online behind all the customers who are mailing packages. Second, the parking lot is huge and well lit. There is a dropbox that you can just drive by and deposit your outgoing mail in without leaving your car. The lobby is open 24 hours and there is a self-serve kiosk available at all times. If you are picking up a package after hours, you can use a lock box with the key. The building is also very clean and well-maintained, inside and outside. There's nice flowers and landscaping. The inside is modern and bright. I sometimes forget how special this post office is, and then I'll be in another town and use their post office, and I notice all the amenities that are lacking there. Everyone who works here has my gratitude for making my visits here so easy and enjoyable. read more

THIS POST OFFICE WAS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. I came in here for a passport service for my baby, and I arrived 5 minutes late (bc my baby was cranky right before the trip) for my appointment. The ladies at the front office rudely refused to service us. I have explained and asked them to consider taking our files since we were only 5 minutes late. They refused and turned us away, even though they clearly can service another appointment - the line was not even long. Do you guys have zero empathy for the human needs? Do you have zero understanding that things happen when you are a parent of a toddler?! The employees of this post office need serious empathy and customer service training. For almost 4 years we've been receiving the old owners mail. Time and time again we've gone to the post office and spoke with the manager about it. Always get the same lie about the mailman being on vacation (he must have loads of time off!). The past couple of times the manager tells us to THROW THE MAIL AWAY that doesn't belong to us. WRONG! He also drives to our house to put a USPS sticker (bright pink with our last name) in the mailbox. You'd think with seeing that we'd get just OUR mail. Lol not at all! On top of STILL, almost 4 years later getting the old owners mail, we're now getting our neighbors mail and vice versa! WTF! The incompetence of SOME of the people there is insane. read more

They keep delivering my mail when I put a HOLD on on my mail. I know this because I have ring.com and see the carrier stuff my mail in the mailbox while on vacation. I had to call a friend to pick it up during my vacation. I have my confirmation on the hold mail so I know the post office received it. read more

I love reviewing Post Offices when they are such wonderful experiences, because face it- no one really ever likes going to the post office. I have found myself going a lot more frequently as I sell items online, so I am there at least once a week for the past month. First off, the staff is SO friendly and nice, no snippiness at all. Friendly, but at the same time, getting you what you need, getting you the lowest rates on shipping (let me compare prices between media and first class, for example), etc. The line is always moving, and other post office agents will come up when the line is long, ask if anyone is just picking up mail, for example or whatever, and help them and it just keeps the line moving. Today I went, and saw the line but was in and out in ten minutes! (I had a lot of send btw), and even though I come in with my bag of boxes, they are so patient and helpful. I also observed one woman who was organizing thank you cards for her soon-to-be-daughter in law's shower, and the post office agent showed her all the designs they had on stamps on the handy little poster, and was able to accomodate her choice. I just get good vibes from these ladies and gents. It is a litle more out of my way, but if I schedule my library trip along with it, it works out perfectly. Note- the open at ten am, not nine, as I was surprised to see one morning when I decided to seize the day! It was a little disappointing, but I had to do some other stuff anyway. read more

Rude customer service. We went in for a passport for our son, we got there on time for our appointment. But there was a long line that delayed us 15 minutes. We didn't have the application so we asked to get one and fill out but they wouldn't process it because "we were late" and we had to fill the application ahead of time when it only took 5 minutes for us to fill it out and we had all documents with us at the time. We were told to schedule another appointment. We explained to them that we both got off work early for this appointment and we had our baby with us there too so it won't be an easy trip to just come back when we had everything with us we just needed the application processed. We scheduled another appointment with the country clerk office and the whole process didn't take more than 10 minutes, they are the nicest people everrrr y'all better off there:) read more

I used to think this office was so slow, but now they really get things moving. The people at the front are nice. I've been there a couple of times witnessing people get mad and yell at them for something they can't help, and they've always maintained their cool. Best part is that it's always open to check po box and send mail through the machine. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. In April, an Amex credit card mailed to me, never arrived. It was used shortly thereafter to purchase $400 in laundry detergent in a nearby town. The replacement that I called for never arrived. A third was delivered via Fedex. On 10/8 I got a notice for registered mail left in my mailbox. I signed up for re-delivery on 10/9. I asked someone to be home to receive it. No mailman showed. I went in today to pick the mail up (it was from Greece) and was told per geo-location it was delivered on 10/9. I checked my camera footage for the date and time they said it was delivered, not a mailman in sight. I checked footage throughout the day and no mailman delivered mail. I was told the supervisor (Patricia Elder) would have to deal with the issue. After waiting about 10-15mins she appeared, RUDE AS EVER! She stated the the mailman who delivered it wrote "COVID 19" on the records meaning that it was okay for him to leave it in my mailbox. Yet the slip they left in my mailbox the day before clearly states "someone must be present" and signature required. I asked her what if it was something valuable that was left in the mailbox and was intended to be signed for. She said that no valuables come in international registered mail. I then told her someone was present in my home waiting to sign and no one signed for the mail. She stated that if I'd given permission to leave the mail in the mailbox without my signature then that's what the mailman would do. I said I did not give permission for my registered mail to be left without a signature. She then said "that's a different story, hold on" and took the peach colored slip with the tracking information and went in the back. After about 15-20mins waiting, I asked someone to go get her. The person paged a supervisor to the front desk and supervisor Bustos came and informed me that she, Patricia Elder, the post master general, had long left to go home. In the end, nothing got resolved after almost one hour standing at the counter. My video cameras showed no mailman on that day and Patricia Elder was more mad than me and left me standing at the front desk for 15-20 mins, after she took my the tracking slip and went home. Bustos could provide no help either. All he did was insist it was delivered and they have proof by "geo-location", My camera footage at the time, before the time and after the time, showed no US postal mailperson on or near my mailbox. read more

I have never reviewed a USPS office before, but the Somerset NJ PO on Demott Lane deserves some very positive recognition. I recently moved here from a more crowded urban areas of the state, and was very pleasantly surprised by how nice, accommodating, polite and professional the USPS staff in Somerset is. FIrst of all there is ample parking. Even though there were many customers to serve (the reason for 4 stars not 5), there were 3 clerks on duty at the counter. There was even a very upbeat employee who asked each customer on line what service they required and answered their questions, directed them to the proper forms to fill out, and expedited the entire process. I have never seen that done in the post office before. The clerk who handled my transaction was very cordial and patient. She answered my questions, helped me send out some items certified etc and was delightfully pleasant and professional. She concluded the transaction efficiently and quickly. This is a model post office which should set the example of how to run the operation and treat its customers. Bravo to the Somerset Post Office on Demott Lane! Keep on doing such a great job! read more

I have had only great experiences with this Post Office. E. even tracked down our business by the name on the box (we use 3rd party shipper) to let us know we had returned shipments there that needed picked up. So nice and helpful. read more

I love this place because I never feel frustration there. All people working in this office have customer first spirit. Lady manager is always trying to reduce customers' waiting line with asking prepaid mail, mail pickup, etc. which they can handle separately. This makes customers' life lots of easier. Other post offices should learn from this place. Highly recommended! read more

Above and beyond. I recently had to take care of a bit of a mail debacle of my own making and Diona (I hope I'm spelling it right) was incredibly helpful. On a very busy Saturday morning she took her time with me to help find the giant stack of mail that may have been returned to sender already; she called the carrier and then followed up with me 3 days later to let me know what the outcome was and was able to forward me everything that I needed, entirely free of the difficulty and stress that I was expecting. She was kind and knowledgeable and did everything that she could to resolve my issue. In addition, during my wait time, I experienced all of the customer service employees being extremely helpful and courteous during an extremely busy time. read more

My mailman is a total idiot!! I live in a condo complex so not sure if that's the problem? When I lived in a house, I NEVER had a problem!! Nothing ever got lost, I always got all my packages. I've been living in my condo for almost two years and he has lost numerous packages and mail. These are items that I paid for usually from eBay. I've received other people's mail so I know he is careless and incompetent!! I really wish they would get a new mailman. On June 9, I "supposedly" received five pieces of mail. One was a package that he supposed left on my porch. When I went to eBay to check, they all said they were delivered in my mailbox. Well guess what? I got no packages that day. Sometimes I will receive them the next day but not sure why? Does he scan the packages before he delivers them? Is that legal? And what good is the tracking # when my things were not delivered? Anyway I'm quite sure this jerk put it in someone else's mailbox as I never received them and now I'm out $57!! I have a locked mailbox which means I and the mailman are the only ones with keys so they couldn't have been stolen!! I called the post office and they were no help whatsoever!! She said she would talk to the mailman and call me back which she did. Of course he lied and denied everything and said he had delivered my packages that day!! I am NOT a liar and what would I gain from lying? I also went there in person the other day and the guy told me to go to their website and make a claim there. But I can't do that as none of my items were insured so obviously I'm screwed!! Also why didn't the woman who I talked to on the phone tell me that I could make a claim online? They are really a bunch of idiots working there who really do NOT care about you or your mail!! How hard is is to deliver mail anyway? It's not exactly rocket science!! Since the city closed the post office on the other side of town (that was nearest to me), it has been a huge inconvenience to make shipments here. I simply come in to get pre paid labeled packaging shipped and scanned. In the past, there was a wider selection of priority boxes. Now, they never seem to have boxes to accomodate larger packages up to 5lbs. In addition, the fact that priority tape or otherwise is NOT available by the clerks and has to be purchased for a simple binding of one corner is absolutely ridiculous! The lines are always long and they are rarely willing to help and accomodate. It's almost as if they've done away with Customer Service. read more
