This location is the central hub for postal deliveries in the area. With my P.O. Box located here I can assure that not too many hands have touched my mail therefore giving me assurance that it doesn't get misplaced or stolen. Which means: it doesn't get delivered to another location and then another location after that, before being giving to a postman to sort out to then give it to the mailman to deliver it...get it? Otherwise, you have friendly staff that are helpful with your delivery needs. They will recommend things that will save you money! read more

They literally have lied to me several times and stolen my packages. I went in last week and they told me my package just went missing, yea ok if arrived at your USPS facility and never got a "out for delivery scan" and just so happens my 250$ collectors item goes missing. YOUR WELCOME read more

This is the worst post office I have ever experienced. There are employees that work there that do not and will not do their job correctly. If you ask for a supervisor or a manager, I was told "they're not here today". They're out to lunch. They're not coming to the front. They're in a meeting. The levels of disrespect are off the chart. I've even had an employee tell me to my face that she's screwing the government back. Because the government screws her in her pay. I was very disappointed in the managers also. This problem has been brought to their attention multiple times, yet they don't seem to put new employees out in the front. They tend to keep the same old disgusting employee in the front. The fat, one with the glasses and the short, dark hair who drags her feet across the floor whenever she's gotta actually move. I feel that this is no longer the employees fault of being a disgrace and a failure to their job and the community. I am now turning the blame for this problem to Management for Not transferring the rotten employees to a different position so the local community can enjoy their local post office once again. One rotten apple spoils the Orchard. Solution......... Discard all the rotten apples. It's the right thing and the obvious thing to do. read more

Never using this post office again. 3 occasions where I send out packages and they go either missing or tampered with. Thank god for insurance, however my last encounter I wasn't able to put insurance because it was prepackaged and now I have a balance of 1200 with my old phone provider all because someone took out the an iPhone13 before processing the actual package. Nobody here is helpful the post master is NEVER AVAILABLE . The staff is rude unprofessional and uninterested in helping anyone. Just stay away from using the USPS as a whole. They lose your packages too often. Now they are using 3rd party companies to deliver your packages which will easily lose/damage your packages. Do yourself good and send your packages through UPS or FEDEX where you have a little more certainty to your package actually routing properly. read more

Total Bad Additude for a stupid person getting paid good money! No one was in there and she was still just an angry postal worker...no need for that. Gave bad advice ,sent us to a different Hackensack Post Office where our package was ,and it was closed ...something she failed to tell us. I have been in this location several times and the lady that works there ( Spanish speaking) has the worst attitude somebody could have. She is in a bad mood every time I go there and treats people as they are ignorant. Please do your self a favor and stay away from this place. They don't answer the phone, it immediately, automatically, diverts to busy...If there's a local issue, you're out of luck...The only assistance is through an automated help line...Need to speak to an agent, the wait times are over half an hour and more...Totally unresponsive... There has to be a better way... read more

This is the best post office I've ever dealt with in my 37 years of life. The manager made sure our mail was delivered promptly and efficiently when we had a new mail person. He was very attentive immediately after I mentioned what had happened. The workers are all very sweet and caring. They care about their customers. read more

Do not use usps. They lost my package and delivered it to someone who was not me. My bf sent it to me from base while he's deployed and I live an hour away. Not sure how you can give a package without asking for I'd. Stay away. Get a refund if they deliver to the wrong person. Because no one will return the package. read more

I need to update this review. I have left the old one below. Here are the updated comments. I visited the facility a short while ago to try and figure out what was going on with my package. So a big shout out to Victor and the Supervisor Joanne, they took the time to investigate the case and then explain why the package had not been delivered. This is rather interesting. The package was not actually part of the UPS shipment. I was given an internal UPS tracking code that showed a pallet had arrived at USPS but that my individual package was not part of the shipment. So now the responsibility shifts to the supplier. Did they in fact send the shipment or just acquire a tracking number at random? HOWEVER CLEARLY NOT THE USPS FAULT AND KUDOS TO THE TWO STAFF MEMBERS WHO TOOK THE TIME TO EXPLAIN THE SYSTEM TO ME. I am updating the stars to 3 purely on the basis of their interaction. They still need to address the phone system. cannot really give even one star. Package transferred from UPS on the 14th November for delivery. As of today still no package. Visit to Post Office in Hasbrouck Hts and told the package is still in facility - this the 27th, given two 'Supervisor' phone numbers. Both phones not answered all day the first day. Second day - told they cannot internally track the package using the supplied UPS code? Question - how come the young lady in Hasbrouck Hts could? Told they need to investigate further and will call back. No call back and no one answered the phone for the last two days. How on earth do they expect to remain relevant in today's era of almost hourly deliveries available via third parties. What happened to the neither rain nor snow.?? Very dispiriting experience. I feel sorry for the counter staff who have to deal with the public when obviously they are not given the resources to offer what used to be a world class service! read more

How do you not have a WORKING number for when people need to call about a delivery problem?!

I would give negative stars if possible. Both women I've seen working on numerous occasions spent the entire time complaining about their jobs. When I asked simple questions the responses were nasty and made to seem like I was wrong and should know these answers. They Refused to put one piece of tape across my package and tried to charge me 4.00 for a roll of tape. They are nasty and rude to everyone and look like they are being tortured working here. If they are so miserable they should not be working in a customer service position dealing with people all day long. Not once have I had a good experience here and I go here very often. Once my package was misplaced and they told me it was my fault ( even though I had a tracking number) they told me my tracking number was wrong (it wasn't) Overall the workers here are beyond horrible and need to be replaced read more

This is the post office that handles mail delivery for Hackensack, but carriers do not always bother to walk to my mailbox, which is set back from the street, to see if I have a letter or Netflix return to pick up. So, if I have no new mail, they don't pick them up. Yesterday, I called an 800 number listed with this post office and ended up talking to a customer service rep whose accent was so thick I had a hard time understanding him. He gave me a choice of filing a complaint and getting a response in 2 days or calling a local number today between 8 and 9 a.m. I just called and it is disconnected. read more

This place is the absolute WORST! I will remember to upgrade all my UPS packages that transfer to the post office, to regular UPS ground. We live in Maywood but our mail carrier comes from this south hackensack post office. Any time we have a package to deliver, they don't knock on the door and just put online "not available" and our packages never get delivered. Trying to speak with someone from USPS to rectify the situation is even worse! They regularly have 3 hour wait times for a phone call. Every time UPS transfers my packages to this post office, they sit in the facility for days. My current package has been sitting there for FIVE DAYS. I can't get ahold of anyone, and I can't pick it up myself. Absolutely ridiculous and incompetent. read more

It was on Wednesday 8-10-2016 around 11AM on South Hackensack, NJ office. I was waiting in line and there were 4-5 customers waiting. Rosanne who was talking to one of customers, blaming previous non-English speaking customer(Hispanic - I think Rosanne is too) for almost 5 minutes. I and the lady behind me were shocked about her attitude. We shaked our heads and looked at her. She didn't mind at all. How could that happen? Don't care customers and even backbite in front of other customers? Unbelievable. I need an explanation. Post office is crazy nowadays and employees are the head of the head. Why? They don't care being fired because or pension they get, and other benefits I guess. But this is not right. Do not play with the citizen's mailing needs and wants. If you don't exist, we have UPS, FedEx etc. Their service is much much better than yours. Shame on you!!! read more

It's hard to believe that a business with such atrocious customer service can survive in the year 2016. I waited on hold for 30 minutes just for the rep to give me another number to call. The number she gave me had a prerecorded message which redirected me. There was no way for me to leave a voicemail or talk to anyone. I can't believe our tax dollars goes to support the USPS. The South Hackensack post office is the worst!! My package was scheduled for delivery on 8.23.18 and was not delivered. Calls were made and a new delivery date scheduled for 8.25.18, still no delivery. Calls made on 8.27.18 revealed that the package was sent back to the sender (no one can tell me when) and no information can be given as to when it will be delivered to the sender. If I had to review just the lady i dealt with at the front desk, I would give this place a negative star. She just did not want to do her job. (12/11/2015 at 9:50am) I went to pick up a package, since the carrier made a mistake not delivering the package the day before. I called the post office first thing in the morning to make sure it is there and they person I spoke to said I can come in as he will keep it there. But the lady at the front desk wow...she said it is probably not here...you should have written down the tracking number before you came (I showed her the number on my phone)...and she was going on and on about how it will not be here. As she was complaining because she had to look for the package they messed up on...another lady came from the back and said she's got it...if she actually went to the back instead of complaining to me and telling me it is not there we could have all left with smiles on her face. But as usual at this place there are always problems before they realize they messed up. We really have no choice to go through this place but I really hope they do something about customer service. This is why my company can't switch our forwarders to USPS...FedEx has been much better...but thanks to the lady in the back, at least I was able to find my package. read more
