The house I stay at in Waldport does not have a mailbox so if I am expecting anything through USPS I have to go in to pick up the packages. They are very helpful with this though I wish they could help more over the phone. I had to go in daily because they won't tell you if your package has arrived or not over the phone which I think is silly (they could obviously still ask for ID when I go in to actually physically pick it up) BUT I understand they are just trying to follow the rules. They were very friendly every time I went in and also seem very apologetic about not being able to give me more information over the phone, but again that's just the way it is. I never had a long wait or any real issues here. I'd feel comfortable going in again if needed! read more

Everyone is always so helpful..great job everyone..friendly and always smiling..haven't had any problems receiving any of my packages I live in an RV park and I don't get mail here so I do drive to town and pick up my mail and any packages in. Haven't had any problems everyone's great. read more

If there was ever case to be made for privatizing the U.S.P.S., the Waldport post office would be exhibit number one. They had an Amazon package that was "undeliverable" to my house, (no different than other packages they left on my porch), and told me it was held at the post office. When I went to pick it up they told me they had it, but were too busy to get it out of the pile. They said I should pick it up the next morning. When I went the next morning they said they sent it back to Amazon! Nobody seems to care. read more

All the employees are astronomically slow and they never get the mail in the PO Boxes until late in the afternoon - many times past closing - or worse, not until the next day. read more

It's a great place if you like waiting in a long line and agents who don't care how long you have waited. Terrible service. I had to come back again to pick up a package. Even though the l One was king there was only person at the counter. He was extremely slow. Very frustrating. No wonder the postal service is in trouble. read more

Worst customer service EVER!!! No help on an emergency package and hearing them talk negative behind the door. Time to get some new employees. No excuse don't even blame this year. These guys send your mail back instead if of holding it. I was told on Saturday that I had two packages and to come back on Monday to pick them up. By Monday, they didn't have them because they sent them back. Only low life's would treat their customers like that! They are just a bunch of liars and probably should all be fired and get some honest people in there. Now they have a sign that they do not accept FedEx or UPS. This post office used to be quite good, but that was years ago. USPS closed a nearby post office in Seal Rock and shifted the workload to Waldport. Since then we've had nothing but problems. Long lines, returned items, inaccurate tracking, and so forth. read more

I am getting tired of only receiving half of my mail. The other half of my mail is being send back to the Sender. My 401 K Account was closed because they kept getting " undeliverable " back to them. and this is not the only time. Our Bank us merging with another Bank. Bank send out new Debits cards 2 weeks ago. I haven't received them. I do keep getting other peoples mail. I return it and guess what ? The mail is placed back into my P.OBox. This is becoming beyond serious. Something needs to change. I contacted the Postmaster. No Change. I may contact the Congressman next. Nother choice. read more

I am a woman who had a very large long box to mail. I forgot to tape one end. The man who waited on me wanted me to buy a roll of tape. I have tons at home. It would have been wasteful. He would not even sell me a 2 ft piece of tape. I was the only customer. I had to drag the large box back out to the car and take it home for tape. Waste of time waste of gas. This was not a great representation of this community I just chose to move to. It continues to stun me how some people who are supposed to serve are so unhelpful. The post office staff and our mail carrier are very helpful and professional. Those, who complain that the post office is small, should realize that Waldport is a small town and we like it that way. We had some business supplies coming in the mail but we needed them as early in the day as possible. I called the post office the day before and they held our shipment at the post office and we could pick it up at 10:00 AM the next morning, instead of waiting for delivery in the afternoon. This vacation hold of mine was handled properly this time. Only I should be allowed to pick up my vacation mail as I instructed on the form.... and it was held for only me. The courteous clerk even required my drivers license to identify myself before releasing the held mail. I appreciate that kind of security. read more

Just wanted to address Jake A.'s complaints - as Eva B. said, we are a very small town and small post office. We are not tied up in our amazingly fabulous lives like you bigger-city folks are so we have a slower pace. We don't mind waiting in line a bit while someone chats. We enjoy life, not just get through it. And they used to take a bunch of yellow cards back with them and pick up multiple packages but recently changed that policy. I don't know if it was a policy change by the feds in general or just our branch, but now we do know they only take care of one package at a time. I suspect a package or two might have been mixed up at some point so they changed their way of doing things. They can't use the large parcel lockers with keys on some packages as they require being scanned when picked up or signed for. Lots of times my packages are left in the parcel lockers when they don't require a delivery scan. And yes, at times we are short staffed - if just one person calls in sick, it does make for an even slower day. But again, we who live here all the time accept that there aren't 10 waitresses waiting around for patrons to walk in, there aren't a bunch of bored checkers at the market, the post office seems understaffed at times. That's small town life. In trade we get to look at our Bridge, our Bay, our ocean, our shoreline, don't sit in traffic lights for forever, don't have the crime rate a larger town has, enjoy moderate weather and less human beings. I'll take Waldport and a little inconvenience over McMinnville and all it doesn't have to offer any day. read more

Almost every single time I order a package, usually small they can easily put it in the many many open lock boxes but instead they give you a card to pick it up from the back so you can only do it during business hours which makes no sense. It's the only post office I've seen do it this way. On top of that I've always used amazon 2 day shipping but almost every time it says it's delivered i have to go in and ask where my package is and they always tell me they're short staffed and it's somewhere in the back..tell me why do I pay for 2 day shipping if it sits in your facility in the back for 2 days till I get it? I have yet to hear anyone say a good thing about this post office..step your game up Waldport it's not that difficult! read more

The only thing that saves this place from a 1 star, is its friendly customer service staff. But the place is SMALL, and the parking is SMALL, and the lines are LONG. All in all, not a pleasant experience. South Salem needs a larger location...considering how busy this place always is. The lobby is open 24/7 though...which is nice. read more
