Sent a Priority letter containing a gift to my elderly parents. The tracking number stated it was…read moredelivered but my folks never received it. They asked neighbors to see if someone had gotten it mistakenly but no one had it. I called the Granby PO who initiated a follow up with the postal employee to try to retrieve it to no avail. There was an automatic $100 of insurance connected to this so I filed a claim. It was denied. I called USPS in Granby to see what else I could do to have my flame accepted and be made whole of the $50 that I spent. I did not know that something sent by Priority Mail that is a certificate or a gift card is not covered by insurance and the screen did not give any warning or question about gift cards. It only asked about things like liquids, so I did not understand why I was being spoken to as if I should have already known this. When I asked the postal employee about it, I was met with a rude response. I then said that I did not know how I could be sure a postal employee had not stolen it, and the employee became upset and said they did not appreciate my implying that the mailman was a thief. That was not really what I meant, but I felt I was being talked down to and treated as if I was ignorant and that she was both telling me I was stupid for not knowing and out $50. The postal employee was rude, and the postmaster was rude as well. Overall, the staff did not seem to care about helping, and I was very disappointed with the experience. I wanted to share this so others know to be cautious when dealing with this post office.

I had to ask him at least three times to stop yelling at me--even though all I was asking was that mail service resume at my new home. I bought my Weatogue house in August, and got normal, routine delivery for months. Then suddenly nothing. Not even junk mail. Ruiz claimed that they had no record of my house existing--it's been there since 1976, and as I said, I had received normal mail service at first. I just wish I had videotaped the encounter--I hope they have surveillance video there, so I can show Mr. Ruiz's supervisors what an ordeal I went through.

It's an all brick, fairly large building, with a decent amount of parking spaces. The inside shows its age, but as long as the job is done, it doesn't matter. There were no customers waiting when I arrived. They had me fill out a customs form for my package, in the minute it took me to fill it out the line extended by two. Thankfully the wait was short. The two ladies working were pleasant enough, but I could tell, they'd rather be doing other things on this Saturday morning. Should you need to purchase packaging materials, tape, stamps, or greeting cards you can find them at this post office. They provided me with the tracking number, which I have shared with the recipient. This is a nice post office in town, that will satisfy your shipping needs.

Small neighborhood Post Office in the Canton Village shopping center. Lots of parking and very…read moreaccessible. Pretty small service counter that can see its two stations get backed up fast when crowded. I saw a really nice example of tactful customer service today. I stopped in around 10 AM to mail some of the newsletters I edit and stamp some outgoing mail. I overheard a transaction between one of the clerks and a customer whose credit card wasn't being accepted by the machine. Instead of routinely dismissing the guy with a curt "You're card's been rejected" (we've all seen that before, haven't we?) he very tactfully said something like "hmmm our computer isn't reading your card, it says there is some sort of error, you'd better check with your bank and make sure everything is OK, I'd hate to see you in the supermarket and have a problem if you're waiting to buy food for your family". I just thought he was very humane and considerate and handled an embarrassing situation in a stellar manner. Nice job !

This place is the worst. They refuse to deliver packages to my house because it would require them…read moreto walk about 100 yards to my front door. I have been dealing with that for the past 7 years. OK. I learned to wait for 2-3 days after I received the notice that my package has arrived before trekking up to the post office to collect it. Otherwise they usually cannot find it. I would receive a slip in my mailbox about packages 50% of the time. But now. for the past few months they are refusing to deliver any of my mail because my mailbox is 8 inches too low. It is located in the same place it has always been but apparently now it poses a safety threat to the mail carriers. So, I have been trekking to the post office to pick up my mail once or twice a week. Today, as I was picking up my mail, I was told by Kyle in a very rude manner that if I do not adjust my mailbox he will just start sending all my mail back to the sender. Gone are the days when the mail would come through rain or snow etc. I guess the lessen learned is that it is time to find a new way to get my mail. I do not want to have to keep dealing with this post office.

Okay in ways it has some stuff like coffee, food, lottery, alcohol & even printing/shipping capacity & this is an asset if say (my case so) you have to make copies of your ID for tax purposes so you can mail out & they even got it plus they show you what they've done so you can tell them if okay or not but they will make sure it's right & properly done. My case was low cost & even if you have to pay a slight fee for a card nevertheless no complaints from me & they even sent a text with receipt in so you can mark on your statement. Now you know.
