Henry and Eddie seem like friendly people, but our recent move has been a nightmare, and they have…read moresince turned into bullies. --- We booked a move with them from Palm Springs to Phoenix. * They gave a lowball quote on both Yelp and Thumbtack without seeing anything. * I responded with a 10-minute video walk-through going through each room in detail; I also included an extensive photo gallery detailing everything needing to be moved. Then, finally, I invited them over to do an in-person walk-through. * We negotiated an all-inclusive flat rate for packing, loading, unloading, and unpacking. We scheduled a move over two days, the first to pack and the second to load and drive to Arizona. * I asked if they were licensed and insured, they said they were, but when I checked the BHGS site, I couldn't find them anywhere. They told me their LLC was in process. This was a weird thing to lie about, but they seemed amicable, so I ignored it. * The original contract with Henry only specified a 20' truck when we had used a 24' truck in the past; I brought this up with Henry and was told, "No problem, we will have a 24' truck on the day of the move." * I did not ask him to update the original contract. I didn't think they would end up charging more because of this change, but they did. That was my fault for not checking, I guess. * They set a window of 8:30-9:00 am to show up and arrive at 11. Eddie gave us a different contract to sign, separate from the agreement I had initially signed with Henry. * They tell us the move won't be happening over two days as agreed, and we will do everything in one day so they can get back in time for another job they had scheduled. * This caused us to scramble to find somewhere to sleep that night, so we booked a hotel room. * They spend most of the day packing, but since we got started so late, we're unable to finish, so they're going to come back at 5 am to wrap everything up. * They show up at 7 am and find that not everything will fit in the truck, so we ended up scrambling to find a small U-Haul trailer to accommodate the additional belongings and pay for that out of our pocket. * They arrive and unload everything; there would have been no time for them to rebuild any furniture or unpack as we originally agreed upon in the contract as it was 8 pm by the time they arrived. In addition, it would have been unsafe for the movers to unpack and hit the road back to California at midnight as they had the other job at 9 am the next day. * They brought us an invoice over a thousand dollars more than the quoted rate because the original contract was only for a 20' truck, and that loading took more time than they had anticipated, and the gas cost more because the truck was bigger. We were happy with the move for the most part. We paid the invoice no questions asked, tipped the movers, shook their hands, and wished them well. We chalked up the experience to what happens when you move to another state. What has happened since then has been discouraging. * Found damage to a computer monitor due to how it was packed, and it will not turn on. I tried to contact Eddie via text and email several times over the last two weeks. Unfortunately, I was ghosted and ignored. * I posted a Yelp review detailing my experience and including screenshots of those texts and emails. * Immediately, I was contacted by Valleys Finest with harassing messages in all caps. They were now saying that I owed them money and kept materials they didn't take with them when they left. I was told I needed to immediately remove my review and pay them for the boxes and pads they left. * They responded to my Yelp review, calling me a liar, and both threatened me with legal action. Eddie called our house disgusting and even suggested that we were racist for posting the original review. * They got my original Yelp review removed for TOS violations, I assume because I posted screenshots of me being ghosted and the harassing texts and emails. --- Most of the issues stemmed from an aggressive quote and miscommunication between Eddie and Henry. If they had arrived with a 20' truck as they originally proposed, it would have been an even worse situation. Even then, all of this was acceptable to us; things happen when you move, I get it. It's common for moving companies to quote a specific rate and charge more on top. It's something you budget and plan for. We overlooked many issues, didn't complain, treated them like family, with respect, paid them what they asked. We gave them the benefit of the doubt. But to ghost a customer and then bully and harass them only after they post a review is unacceptable. I wish the brothers well, but I would think twice about using a company like theirs in the future.
