But it is not every lawyer who can make a dead case (like my elder's) come back to life. My elder is a successful foreign businessman who has lived in the United States for 18 years. He had tried various methods for applying for a green card; but for various reasons, he failed a lot. At the worst time, he was even requested by the US government for deportation. We all thought that his case was hopeless. And many lawyers refused to take over his case. Later, around five years ago, he hired this lawyer through a friend's recommendation. To be honest, the lawyers' office is small, however all employees are experienced; we later learned that all the employees have been in the business for nearly 20 years, which is not easy. It took five years for this lawyer to slowly solve the problem of my elder's case and then continue to apply for a green card all the way. This is a very amazing counterattack; it is the good news for our entire family. And to be clear upfront: if this firm responds citing confidentiality as the reason they cannot address specifics, please know that confidentiality rules do not prevent an attorney from returning calls, monitoring an active case, or knowing about a court judgment before his own client has to forward it to him. I hired Fabrice Michel through Marble Law in late September 2025 to appeal a child support modification order. The financial and personal impact on my family was immediate and severe, and I needed an attorney who understood the weight of what was at stake. The initial consultation gave me confidence. Fabrice reviewed both parties' finances, identified what he believed were calculation errors, and committed to pulling the hearing transcript to build the case. He was sharp and specific. That version of Fabrice Michel did not show up again. Before the filing deadline he requested supporting documents including two years of Zelle payment receipts and other financial records. I complied within days each time. Every follow-up got the same response: he would review and get back to me later that day. He never did. This became the defining pattern of our entire working relationship. We had 30 days from the magistrate's September 16th filing to object. Fabrice waited until October 16th, the final day. None of the documentation I provided was reflected in the submission. There was no indication the transcript had ever been pulled. The filing contained inaccurate assertions about my custody arrangement, finances, and relationship with the opposing party. When I raised this, he said the inaccuracies were immaterial. No corrections were made. What followed required repeated escalation through Marble Law's customer service just to get a response. That eventually produced a phone call on October 31st. When I raised my concern about his bandwidth, he stated: "I am handling over 90 cases. It's unrealistic for me to get back to every single client that has questions." This was said on a call with a witness present. I told him he should have either declined my case or set clear communication expectations. His tone softened. He asked to continue and assured me he still had leverage. I agreed. He submitted the rebuttal that day. Then nearly three months of silence. The final judgment was issued January 20th, 2026. I discovered it myself and forwarded it to him January 23rd. His response: "Good morning, this is my first time seeing this. I will review and analyze this afternoon and will get back to you shortly." He never did. The judgment included instructions for a further appeal within 30 days. That window closed without any guidance, any follow-up, or any word from my attorney. A legal right was lost not on the merits but because of his absence. If this firm responds that they take communication seriously and are investing in systems to improve, understand that this same response has been given to other reviewers as well. Acknowledging a problem in a reply is not the same as having prevented it. I experienced this firsthand. I would not recommend Fabrice Michel. Before engaging Marble Law, ask directly about attorney caseload and communication structure, especially for family law matters where the stakes are ongoing and personal.

We had an extremely negative experience at Zimmet Law. We worked with the lawyer Debra Hammerman,…read moreas well as Monique Gravely and Jacqueline Constante. We used Zimmet Law to purchase our home in Brooklyn, NY. Besides being generally hard to get in contact with the lawyers, 12 hours before our closing, the lawyers sent us a final Closing Disclosure with over $100,000 in mistakes that they did not catch. There was a mistake in our taxes that they did not catch. The title company they hired also made significant mistakes, leading to them giving us documents with huge mistakes in them 12 hours before the closing. Our lawyer, Debra Hammerman, did not come to our closing and was not present for most it, so we had to sort out all of these issues on our own. There were even more mistakes she didn't catch, and it led to an extremely stressful closing that lasted well over 8 hours. Her employee Monique was rude to me for asking more clarifying questions during the closing, saying we were "going in circles". I don't understand how someone who has made a $100,000 mistake could possibly feel justified in thinking that victim of that mistake might want more validation on other numbers they have created. Furthermore, the paralegal Jackie was looped into conversations for closing details about a week before the closing. I spent 3 days straight emailing her and calling her to try to get answers to questions about the closing, like how the money would be transferred, and she never responded. I confirmed with the front desk that she was not sick or on vacation, and our lawyer Debra Hammerman was also cc'ed on those emails and neither of them ever responded to our emails or calls. I have no idea why they waited until 9:30 PM to give us the final closing documents, when our closing was at 10 am the next day. It was a nightmare. Finally, Debra Hammerman herself provided a POA since one of our purchasers would be out of town at the closing. Despite us filling out the POA as per her instructions, it turned out she hadn't requested addresses of notarized signature witnesses which led to us desperately trying to contact our witnesses during this extremely chaotic closing to get their addresses. Why didn't she request addresses in the POA itself? Pure incompetence is my bet. Finally, the lawyer, paralegal, and all of the staff from Zimmet Law completely forgot to bring up holding money in escrow from incomplete punch list items. It fell by the wayside as we attempted to hammer out all the other mistakes the law firm has made, and it meant that no money was held in escrow as requested while we awaited final punchlist items to be addressed. This was a totally terrible experience for us and I would never recommend this law firm to anyone.

Prior to this, the landlord or the agent suggested I should hide my underaged child from the occupant list so they don't need to put up ugly window shields on their nice-looking apartment. I refused to do so and they ceased the lease. Mr. Brian Zimmet: 1) 10 min late for the call without explanation, 2) said neither the landlord nor the agent had done anything wrong, 3) I brought to him I think the agent has broken the code of ethics in several ways and the landlord's decision violates NYC tenant law by refusing to rent to a family with a child; he said he's not familiar with the code ethics (despite him being the real estate lawyer) and asked me to call the police if feel discriminated (what a nice person), 4) refused to help me with filing a complaint on the landlord or the agent, asking me to find a long island lawyer (the property is in Queens but nevertheless he should have a license covering NY state). Throughout the whole process, he is impatient and rude and ended the call in 10 min despite his assistant booked for 30 min. And the fact that he called the action of the agent/landlord "nothing wrong, nothing illegal" seems weird to me. Will not do business with them anymore.
