If you have any reservations about technology, are uncomfortable asking questions and are worried you'll leave with an astronomical bill, please come see them! Nico answered all my questions and was so patient! Tasha and Jenn were working and I heard them with their customers while I waited, and they couldn't have been more wonderful! They also answered mine as they came up. I left with a brand new phone AND plan, instead of just replacing the battery, I asked Nico to lay out my bill so I could see exactly what my monthly bill will be, and I can't put into words how user friendly the phone he helped me pick out is! I will recommend this store every time I bring up this phone! I walked in nervous and NOT excited about feeling "on guard" with having a broken phone and the prospect of being out $$, and the 3 of them sent me out the door, happy as can be with this new phone!

Last October I walked into a US Cellular store in Des Moines, Iowa to inquire about switching services from Verizon to US Cellular. The sales associate was very friendly and explained that not only could I save money on my plan but I could trade in my current phone and get a new one. I would pay $23.30/month but receive a promotional credit of $19.95/per month after the first three months for 2 years. I explained that I am in Mexico for several months each year and need cell service there. She told me that I can suspend my service and get a sim card there. So, I was going to save money on my current plan and get a new iPhone for under $100. Everything sounded good, so I agreed. As we were going through the paperwork, she then told me that my phone was not eligible for a trade in because it was an iPhone 6 not 6s but no worry, I would make an initial payment of approximately $100 but could sell my phone to make up for the difference. Sounded good, right? First I noticed that my cell service was MUCH less reliable "in the middle of anywhere and everywhere". I was somewhat surprised when I couldn't get service in Sioux City, Iowa and was shocked when I couldn't get service in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. I had to turn on roaming to call US Cellular to find out what was going on. The representative told me that they are continuing to expand their cell service coverage. He told me that I could use up to 512mb of data roaming for free. I was NEVER told that I can turn on voice roaming and not get additional charges. Second, after the first three months of payments, I was not seeing my $19.97 credit being applied to my account. I called US Cellular and they said they didn't see a promotion on my account. I had to go to the store to talk to my sales representative. She explained that she would have to do a little finagling to get my credit applied on my account. It took an additional 3 months and multiple phone calls before the credit started being applied. Third, I found out that I can NOT suspend my account under the current promotion unless my phone is stolen or lost. The representative I spoke with implied that I could "lie" about my phone being lost. So I will be paying monthly service for FIVE months while in Mexico without the ability to use my phone. I called US Cellular to see if I can cancel without paying any penalty. They told me that I would have to pay $419.40 for the phone and there was nothing they could do. My statement states that I am available for an early upgrade if I pay $279.60 which I was willing to pay to get out of this. So I went to see my representative at the store to straighten things out. She no longer works there! I talked with another representative who told me there was nothing she could do. Calls to US Cellular customer service and retention department were no help. I was totally mislead and I can't believe that there is NOTHING you can do to alleviate this situation with my having to pay $419.40 and report this to the Better Business Bureau and other agencies. FYI it was the U.S. Cellular located at 3801 Merle Hay Rd in Des Moines. And I will add that the sales associate could only say "sorry" and as I was leaving, I saw the store manager returning from lunch. He would not make eye contact and quickly walked by. When I let him know what I needed, he unfortunately didn't have what i needed. He quickly countered with that this location has it, and for the inconvenience he would help me out. I took him up on it. He called ahead and they were ready for me. I walked in and they got me the cover I needed and had me back on the road shortly. What's even better is the guarantee on them and I can just take it back. Super cool guys. I'll be back in the future.

Yes, they did make good on this warranty claim, but it was a long hassle with rude treatment. There was a young man at the counter at the time and two older men. One of the older men was named Eric according to my receipt. I was spoken to like I was a stupid idiot that did not know what he was taking about. I had purchased a replacement alternator online and returned the older alternator in the box the newer box came in the other older man (the one without glasses) spun the box around on the counter violently and nicked my right hand which was next the box and did not even apologize. Eric had me run my credit card in the reader and claimed the card I used in his reader was not the one I had used to purchase the new alternator with. Looking at my O'Reilly printout confirms that the credit card I had used for the online purchase was indeed the same one I put in the slot at this store by looking at the credit card number's last 4 printed on the receipt so this guy acted like an idiot. These two older men seem rude, grumpy and incompetent to be O'Reilly employees. If I were to have my way, both would be summarily fired. Yes, I was glad that my warranty claim was finally resolved to my satisfaction with a cash refund for the newer alternator for the total in full, but I did not deserve such horrible treatment since these men seem to be poorly trained, incompetent or just plain hate their jobs.
