My family member passed away, H&R Block process the taxes, we submitted e-file, I paid for the "Refund Due of Deceased Taxpayer Form"...guess what happened? YEP...sent refund both federal & state sent to OLD DECEASED person's address. NOW, I get to try to reach a "REAL' person to get the refund. This is something that didn't need to be happening. I have to say that the Dept. Of Health is less busy thus less stressful. It only took us about 5 minutes to get things done. Each copy was $21.00. Bring cash or a check because they do not take debit or credit. There is a parking lot right behind the building. You can easily park here for a fee of coarse and you can walk right into the building from there. The Health Dept. Offers many services which I am not entirely aware of. I did however as a student get a TB chest X-Ray to clear me to work with the child development department at Fresno City College. It was not expensive because I was a student at the time.

Man, what wonderful service I received here. Juliet just about held my hand walking me through all the double checking I wanted to do. Patient, kind and professional, she really brought the human touch (without actually touching a human) to this department. Mary Ann, likewise was awesome and helpful. And it's a good thing, as I had them laughing at my corny jokes, Rob, their supervisor, came up to the front counter as well. As it would turn out, Rob and I go the same church, Riverpark Bible Church. Go Riverpark! Anyway, as a result of this trip and the fantastic service, I learned that I need to take advantage of a 'Homeowner's Exemption Form' that essentially with reduce the value from which the property is taxed about 7K. Lol…read more The meters have been changed to cards only, but the screens are very hard to read in the sunlight. No debit cards, credit cards only, BTW. So this visit was to get an update on an already approved building permit. Due to a small error, we needed a red line on wording that shouldn't have been on our original plans. So here we are. Glad to see that the lobby has reopened since being closed due to Covid months ago. The hubby didn't have an appointment and was nicely surprised to be helped on the spot without one. Usually you make an appointment and come back in a bit. Anyway, the first guy to help him was full of "no's" but when another guy came out, he was very informative and helpful. Got one item taken care of, but one thing seems to lead to another in the construction world. Lol. He did let us know what we need to do next and it looks to be an easy fix. Needless to say, we're quite pleased with the outcome of this visit! Reminders-making an appointment is best and on Fridays their hours are only 830-1230. 9-5 on Mon-Thurs. When ahead and put the car on jack stands and next thing you know the ground caved in and the car fell with a loud bang, my mom came out screaming thinking the worst but thankfully I was in the back of the house getting something. We arrived in the room right at 8:30am. The prisoners are let in and seated in front and to the left. Judge didn't come out until 9:30. There isn't a place to check in and no direction on what to do. After 3 hours of waiting we had to wait until the break to talk to the attorney assigned to the case. He then said we didn't need to be there based on our case. Pretty annoyed. Parking was $6 and my time that I'll never get back.

One entrance for the 100+ people waiting to get in is insane. Then you are in a crowd waiting for an elevator (I take the stairs). Then you are in another line at the clerks desk. If you are there to see the judge, more waiting. Plan to be there from 0800-1700. Also, if you don't know where to go, be ready to wait in a line (probably the wrong one) to ask someone so you can go wait in that line.
