My raison d'être is Commissioner of Deeds another re-appointment filing and payment, but in-person visit. The fee for filing the signature card is $10.00. I did not need an appointment for in-person re-appointment submission and payment. The Notary Department is located in room 106 next to the Cashier. Four stars, the clerk at the Notary Department window was inexperience who pawn to passed me to someone as an animated object who is more experienced to enter my blue signature card in the court system. I was instructed to go to the Cashier window for my filing fee payment followed by a subsequent instruction to return to the Notary Department window. What?? Why do I have to return to the Notary Department window again? I did received a minuscule sales receipt. Queens County Clerk's Office is a nice government building. It is ADA accessible by a ramp at the rear entrance through a parking lot on 88th Avenue at 148th Street between 89th Avenue. The steps are abundant, but I took my sweet time climbing high. Be prepared to enter through a metal detector for security (but not detailed like TSA airport style to remove shoes). The artwork for the greenish circle disc is somewhat appealing as it appeared very weathered with time and space from the elements. I highly admire the medium circle concrete stumps where each are inscribed locales names of Queens County: Ozone Park, Howard Beach, Richmond Hill, Cambria Heights, Sunnyside, Woodside, Astoria, Corona, Fresh Meadows, Long Island City, Briarwood, Ridgewood, Forest Hills, Rego Park, Woodhaven, Elmhurst, Bayside, Flushing, Hollis, Kew Gardens, Maspeth, Jamaica, The Rockaways. However, I think many other Queens locales or vicinities are missing: Hunters Point, Tudor Village, Glendale, Jackson Heights, College Point, Douglaston, Little Neck, Queensboro Hill, Jamaica Estates, Floral Park, Auburndale, Pomonok, Hillcrest, Glen Oaks, Whitestone, St. Albans, Laurelton, Queens Village, Rosedale, and Springfield Gardens, et al. The office as many have noted is on the first floor just to the left of security. It was well staffed and clean. In addition the staff was super helpful and friendly which I really appreciated. I needed some of the documents notarized which they do right there and there was no line. They also do passports and other documents as well.

Seriously, once you get there you know it because they have diplomatic cars parked all over the…read moreplace. they have a huge flag hanging out over the street. the consulate itself is only in the bottom level of the building, but the cars are all over the place. you walk downstairs and pass a couch and some set up chairs in the stairwell. they have a section where you check in and another section where you apply for documents and pay the bills. Has a shower, bathroom and a private section where you can get free magazines and publications. Local hot-dog cart on the corner was in english / indonesian. you can also learn / practice your bahasa indonesia and basa jawi. and you can drop some slang like 'kulu mboten mengertas" up on them and they just laugh, point at you and say 'orang bule pinter' while everyone is staring at you in awe, because you heard and understood that they just made fun of you in their language. has classes on Gamelan, Balinese Dance and Indonesian a few times each week. limited hours, they are open for work from like 9a to 11:30a for processing, dropping off and then from 2pm to 4:30pm for pick up only, they wont take any new applications or cases. We went here to renew passports and extend stays and update information.

Exams are open to the public based on education and experience where EOE is enforced and practiced. I never received a discount for my exam fee as I applied online. Ten days prior to the scheduled exam date candidates receive in the U.S. mail an admission notice containing all the full details for location/address; date/time; valid photo identification, two #2 pencils; length of exam and instructions for finger prints, exiting the property. Organization from candidates entering the test site; to exiting the grounds are very clean and orderly pass. Exams varies month by month pending availability and the need for position(s). Personally, I apply to what suits my professional background to enhance a better career.

You can imagine my surprise when two years later the report was received and ended up newsworthy. Yes, it was on the news about how bad the air quality is in my Carnegie Hill Neighborhood. I've often thought about having my apartment air quality and mold etc. checked but I am not going to put myself through that nightmare if they find something. It's not a good idea for me to get on my landlord's bad side. If you have questions or concerns I recommend you contact them. It may take time but they do take your request seriously!

I went to the New York Public Library on 40th Street early one morning when the IDNYC Department opened. I came prepared with my documents. If you read and follow the instructions on their website it's a smooth process. After I completed the application, provided the documentation, and had my photo taken, I was out of there. My ID came in the mail in about two weeks. Over the next couple of years I had Free year long memberships to the Guggenheim, The MET, MOMA, and more. Additionally I had discounts at the museum shops and cafes. They have Sports discounts too and so much more. Every Year a new list of free or discount activities is provided. You can check their website. My ID was Free and does not expire for five years. I'm not sure if it's still free. They make renewal easy using an online renewal process. I advise my retired friends to get the ID. The savings is well worth it! My screen shots are from their website. Check it out. It's definitely not as much fun since COVID. I brought all of the documentation I…read morethought I needed according to their requirements: My valid NYS drivers license and a copy of my renters insurance invoice as proof of address since I've moved after I got my license renewed. I also brought along a copy of my lease just in case, thinking it couldn't hurt even though I only needed one piece of address proof. Boy was I wrong. The woman doing the pre-screening looked at my license, ignored my renters insurance invoice, and she honed in on the copy of my lease. She told me that they didn't accept copies and that I couldn't use the lease as proof of address. She asked me if I had a paystub, credit card statement or bank statement. I explained that I was enrolled in paperless statements, and that's why I brought the renters insurance invoice. She said she couldn't help me and that I needed to come back again with some better form of address proof. Okay, fine. I printed out copies of all of the things she mentioned because somehow statements that are printed out don't count as copies. I came back today, handed her the renters insurance invoice again, she ignored that and went to my paystub and said "You can use this". Then there was some complicated chair/line system were everyone needed to switch seats every two minutes. When I finally got to the person actually entering my information for the ID, I gave her my renters insurance invoice and asked her if I could use that as my proof of address, she looked at and said "Sure, this will work." Everything went smoothly from then on and I was done in about five minutes. TL/DR: The person doing the prescreening either doesn't understand what's acceptable proof or is too anxious about doing her job to do it correctly. Don't bring copies, it will set her off.
