The morning of our appointment, I received a call informing me that all of the passport clerks had called out and that our appointment would have to be canceled. I completely understand that unexpected things happen and that staffing issues can be unavoidable. What was frustrating was that the cancellation was essentially the end of the conversation. There was no offer to reschedule, no attempt to help us find another appointment, and no alternative solution offered whatsoever. We had planned around this appointment, so being left to figure everything out on our own was extremely disappointing. I understand that circumstances happen, but I would have appreciated some effort to help us find a solution rather than simply telling us our appointment was canceled.

This location is small - one window. But very under-utilized. I find that the Haymarket PO is always to busy - there is usually a long line. So I've started planning my trips to the PO as part of other trips to visit either the Vint Hill or Broad Run PO's. He told me that barely anyone comes in to this PO. I boxed and mailed a package, mailed two letters, and bought some postage stamps. Great service!

Both are small and underutilized, but service is always fast and friendly. They do not offer all of the services that the larger branches do, but for what I need, they are perfect. Please keep in mind that these small facilities only have one or two employees, so they may close an hour for lunch. Always check their hours before going around lunch time so you wont waste a trip.

About 8 tomes in last 3 years they've tried stealing my packages. I always have to go in there and raise hell to get my packages that weren't delivered. They lie and say "contractors aren't paying for mail carriers to deliver packages to house in subdivision with cluster mailboxes. Then why even send the large packages with them when they leave go on their route???? I have a video of him driving past my house which is 8 tenths of a mile from the cluster box. But, according to the ignorant rude witch that answered the phone today the contractor isn't paying for him to do that. My mailman, who drives a jeep wrangler like mine tried to steal my package that had a lightbar in it for my jeep. Coincidence? I think not. The same guy hit my dog with a package and when I got after him about it, he claimed my dog, who was locked up inside bit him a week later.. Well, animal control came and took my dog and put her down. Thanks Tom! And Jim, I think he is brain dead. He doesn't even know that a post office is a federal agency. He couldn't even give me a complaint form that all federal agencies must have at the counter. He said there's no complaint form. The post master is never there. Id like to have a job like that. But in reality the pm is there but doesn't take any calls because they know they are a piss poor excuse for a post office.
